I cannot say enough amazing things about Beyond The Updo team! From the moment Katie, Jordan & Amenda arrived, they brought such a calming, fun, and positive energy to the morning of our wedding. They made everyone feel comfortable, confident, and absolutely beautiful.
They truly listened to what each person wanted and executed everything perfectly. My bridal look was beyond anything I could have imagined — I felt like the best version of myself, and my hair and makeup lasted flawlessly all day and night through happy tears, dancing, and everything in between.
Booking them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day, and I would recommend them to absolutely anyone looking for a talented and reliable beauty team. Thank you for making us feel so beautiful and special on such an important day! -

I used Beyond the Updo for mine and my bridal parties wedding hair and makeup, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. The team was outstanding — everyone was so talented, professional, and made the whole getting-ready process feel fun, relaxing, and stress-free.
They did an excellent job with both hair and makeup, and everyone looked and felt beautiful. The team also timed everything perfectly throughout the day, which helped everything run smoothly and kept us on schedule without ever feeling rushed.
The girls were so fun to have around while getting ready and truly added to the excitement and happiness of the morning. Ciarrah was especially wonderful to work with — she was organized, responsive, and communicated so well throughout the entire planning process, and she went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied with my services.

I could not recommend BeyondTheUpdo enough! From the very first conversation, Ciarrah went above and beyond. Before I even officially booked, I spoke with her on the phone to explain exactly what I was looking for. I had a particular vision due to some mixed past experiences with professional makeup services, and she immediately reassured me. Ciarrah personally checked on me during my trial to make sure my look ended up how I wanted and followed up the next day to make sure the look lasted. She and her team took notes on any corrections I wanted post-trial to make sure we could incorporate them on wedding day. On the morning of the wedding, the team was incredibly professional, calm, and talented. They showed up early and finished on time. Between the magic of Amanda, Erica, April, Kristin, and Nicole, all of our hair and makeup looked amazing. I truly felt like an elevated version of myself. BTU made getting ready a true joy, and I am so thankful I trusted them with such an important part of my wedding day! -

Working with BeyondTheUpdo was such a smooth and incredible experience. They were very flexible with all of the details, from scheduling my hair trial around my tricky work schedule, to working with us through our original venue cancellation, to last minute increasing the number of girls whose hair my stylist did on the day of the wedding– their communication and flexibility was always so appreciated. My stylist Jordan is incredibly talented. My hair trial was flawless, and she effortlessly made the few changes that I requested on my wedding day– and my hair stayed put into the night. I felt like a princess all day! All of my bridesmaids and family were also obsessed with their hairstyles as well. In fact, my sister showed her an inspiration photo of a complicated-looking flowy braid, and Jordan took one glance at the photo and recreated the hairstyle without taking another look. Jordan was extremely quick with her work- she did a total of 9 services, starting at 8 am and ending around 1 pm. She was also able to a variety of hairstyles: half-up-half-downs, updos, and a flowy braid. She did a beautiful updo on one of my bridesmaids who has very curly hair, using 46 bobby pins! Overall, my experience working with Jordan was amazing, and I would highly recommend working with her or anyone from the BeyondTheUpdo team for your wedding day! -

Ciarrah is the best!!!!
Ciarrah was so great to work with! She is extremely responsive and accommodating to any changes needing to be made. I did 2 trials to test different hairstyles and she was so receptive to feedback and tweaked anything needed. I had her do both rehearsal dinner and wedding and both turned out perfect.
It ended up raining on our wedding day and my hair did not move once. From 80 degrees during photos, torrential downpour, taking my veil on and off so many times along with dancing the night away my hair stayed the entire time.
All my bridesmaids also loved how their hair turned out, would highly recommend!! -

Ciarrah is the one that I had the pleasure of working with for my wedding. The first time I met her at my bridal preview she brought a sense of calm!!! My hair looked awesome that day and I couldn’t wait for my wedding day to arrive! Then on the wedding day, she did my whole Bride Dream Team and they were thrilled with her as well as myself….plus the work ethic she brings with her! She is a blast and we all hated her to leave us! Ciarrah and her hair and makeup team with Beyond The Updo were a dream to work with and I can't recommend them enough! From email coordination, to the hair trial, to the day of the wedding everything was so seamless and professional. For my wedding hair trial I tested two different updo's and we chose the one I liked more. I loved that Ciarrah followed up with me later that night to see what I liked about the hairdo and what I thought needed to be improved to make it last on the day of my wedding.
On the morning of my wedding her and her hair and makeup team arrived on time (7:30AM) and everyone was so nice to work with, it was a great way to start my wedding morning. I have been a bridesmaid in a lot of weddings and I know how stressful getting hair and makeup completed ON TIME can be for the bride and photographer. I had 10 bridesmaids, 3 mothers, and myself to get done by 12:30PM with a tight photography schedule that didn't have allow for a lot of wiggle room and I was stressed about timing. Not only did they finish everyone's hair and makeup on time, but they were able to go back through each girl to do touch ups as needed. All of our hair and makeup lasted the entire day and night in the humid Maryland June weather.
I loved my ponytail updo that Ciarrah did for me and she really adapted the changes we noted from my hair style and it worked out perfectly for my wedding day. I couldn't be happier and can't recommend Ciarrah and her team enough! -

Amazing team!
Jordan, April, Kirstin, and Nicole all did an amazing job for me, the bridesmaids, and moms! I felt so beautiful and confident on the big day and Jordan and April gave me the exact look I was hoping for. Everyone else was also extremely happy with their hair and makeup, making for the prettiest bridal party I have ever seen. Additionally, Ciarrah was so responsive throughout the whole process, which I was very appreciative of during the wedding planning process. I would highly recommend this team for any future bride. -

I can't say enough incredible things about Ciarrah and Jordan and the entire BTU team! I got married last month and reached out to BTU in the fall to book them for my wedding. Ciarrah replied to my inquiry almost immediately and throughout the entire process she was incredibly responsive and helpful. Jordan was my hair artist for the wedding and also did my bridesmaids, MOB, and MOG (9 services total). Although Jordan had several people to work through, she performed each service flawlessly and everyone was so happy with the results! Each service was exactly like the picture/ inspiration we gave to Jordan. She brought such a calming presence to the morning and we all loved chatting with her! I also had an amazing trial with Jordan, I showed her only a couple of pictures and described what I liked/ wanted to change from the inspo. She was able to execute perfectly and my hair turned out even better than I could have imagined. I can't recommend the BTU team enough and absolutely loved working with them! They made all of my wedding hair dreams come true and I am so so grateful!! -

1000/10. You must book them. We had Ciarrah, Jordan C, April and Erica for our hair and makeup team for my wedding. I was the bride and had Ciarrah for hair and Jordan C for makeup. I have been in so many weddings, and often, half the bridal party didn't love their hair or makeup. This was the first wedding I was in (AND as the bride) where everyone was blown away by how they looked. Everyone felt so good about their hair and makeup and felt like elevated versions of themselves. My friends who typically take off half their makeup after getting serviced were SO happy with their hair and makeup for once. It was a true tell that this team is TOP TIER. As the bride, I did lots of research into HMU teams. I found BTU on Wedding Wire and it was a seamless and easy process from beginning to end. I knew at my trial that they were going to be such an added plus to my wedding day. They all made us feel comfortable, happy and relaxed. They were EXCEPTIONAL at their jobs and I will never stop recommending them to anyone who asks.

Ciarrah / Beyond the Updo is a 10/10 find for a wedding hair stylist. From my trial to my wedding day, she was the easiest to work with and so so sweet. She was open to my feedback after my trial and absolutely CRUSHED it on my wedding day. She arrived at our BnB to get ready on time, had a great attitude, and was so wonderful. And truly, she is SOOO talented and incredible at what she does. I felt like a serious beauty queen. I could not recommend Ciarrah enough!!! -

BeyondTheUpdo did a great job on our hair and makeup the day of my wedding! All of my bridesmaids were happy with their "look." The makeup was very natural and lasted throughout the day, even in the heat! We had two make up artists and one hair stylists that were so friendly and fun to have in the bridal suite. I only have amazing things to say about Ciarrah and her team. They were flexible and communicative from the very start and made me feel welcomed and heard! Ciarrah, Megan and Amanda were so kind and easy to work with, and my hair and makeup was absolutely flawless on my wedding day. Both held up all day long, (and through a 6.5 hour flight across the country!) My bridemaids' hair and makeup was perfect too- all the artists were able to recreate looks based on pictures we showed and were open to any changes we wanted. I would work with the Beyond The Updo team again in a heartbeat! Anyone who works with them is making the best choice for their wedding/event- seriously, they are amazing. -

I am so glad we booked with BTU for my wedding day. Ciarrah and her team were such a fun addition to the morning. They were professional, respectful, and did some incredible hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. They valued everyone’s requests for their hairstyles and makeup preferences and all my bridesmaids were in love with their styles. I highly recommend booking them for your wedding day. Everyone’s styles lasted the entire day (7am to 10pm) and I received so many compliments on my hair. -

I do not have words for how amazing Ciarrah and Megan were from start to finish! They are simply magic!
Ciarrah is the most incredibly organized and proactive business owner. Outside of my initial inquiry I never had to reach out to her again, she always contacted me about scheduling and provided me with any and all helpful information well in advance.
Both Ciarrah and Megan are amazingly talented at their crafts and they really listened to everyone’s diverse request. There was not a type of style that they could not do, they offered helpful advice when indecisiveness took over without pushing a particular look. They truly made me and all my girls feel like the most beautiful versions of ourselves!!
The one piece of advice I would give as a recent bride would be to choose to work with people that make your day better. While the day will inevitably be amazing it will also be undoubtedly stressful at times. Having the opportunity to spend that critical time prior to the big day with people who carry the best positive yet calming and comfortable energy, like Ciarrah and Megan do, was a game changer for me. Their kind, funny and genuine spirits set the tone for what was the best day of my life!
Picking a beauty team can be overwhelming but I cannot recommend them enough! You will not be disappointed hiring this team!! -

Ciarrah made me feel like an absolute princess!!
Ciarrah is hands down the BEST at what she does! She made me feel like a princess on my wedding day. Not only did she make me and all of my girls look stunning, she made sure to provide the extra touch ups and small details.
I had shown Ciarrah an inspiration photo & my hair turned out absolutely identical (if not better) to the original photo!
She was very cautious of her time, making sure we all got done in a timely matter and that we were still ahead of schedule.
My wedding day wouldn’t have been the greatest day of my life if it wasn’t for her going above and beyond for me & my girls!
I a thousand percent recommend Ciarrah for any special event! 🤍

Ciarrah did such an amazing job on all of my girls and I hair. Even though it was 90° and sunny outside, all of our hair stayed perfect! All of my girls loved their hair and my hair was so pretty. When I first began looking for a makeup and hair artist, I was very overwhelmed because I was planning my wedding in about 5 1/2 months and I needed someone good but also extremely responsive and efficient and Ciarrah was exactly that. She made me feel instantly comfortable and gave me all the information I needed right away to make a decision if BeyondtheUpdo was even in my budget. Not only were they extremely reasonable price-wise but Megan (makeup) and Nicole (hair) were the absolute best. They both listened to exactly what I wanted at the trial run and the day of the wedding they were in the zone. They made sure everything ran smoothly and that all my girls were 100% happy with how their hair and makeup turned out. I was above the moon with how everything turned out the day of the wedding and I could not have done with without this amazing team! Thank you again! -

Ciarrah and the Beyond the Updo team were great to work with. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and they took wonderful care of every aspect of my look.
Ciarrah did all of the hair for us, with Jordan and Nicole doing make up. They listed to everyones personal preferences and checked in with me to ensure I was also happy with the looks (even though I did not ask for this and fully trusted them). Ciarrah even went as far as trimming some of the girls hair (with permission!) to achieve the best look. They were very prompt and made sure to keep us on time, which was no small task with 10 people needing hair and makeup. We had ladies of all ages (12 - 65) and all skin types and tones and every single one said they felt beautiful, comfortable and listened to. Ahead of the wedding, when it came to planning I really wanted to make sure the vendors were a good fit personality wise. Ciarrah was happy to do a phone call interview to talk through my questions or concerns I had. This really sold me on them from the start.
At trials the team was so communicative and accommodating. I had some feedback and changes following and the team was on top of it and made sure to adjust for day of.
Beyond the up do was not the least expensive, but in my opinion, their value for service was worth every penny. Given my location in proximity to their home base, there were notable travel fees and we also required an early start time to accommodate everyone, so just a note to look out for when budgeting.
I would certainly recommend Ciarrah and her talented team for your event!
