We would have been lost without our incredible wedding planner Mae Mallon of Beyond Smitten Events. A planner was absolutely crucial, seeing as neither of us lived locally. Mae was an invaluable resource, offering everything from design ideas to excellent referrals, but more than that, she became a dear friend and shoulder to lean on, particularly as the pandemic became an inevitable part of every discussion. She was patient, poised, and so well-organized, with a gentle spirit and eternal optimism that kept us afloat on harder days. Mae kept us steady and focused even when the horizon was hard to see. She helped us manage our budget, sent us excellent local vendor recommendations, detailed and set our timeline, ran our rehearsal, and communicated to our loved ones and team members with compassion and kindness. She even sent us notes of encouragement and little congratulatory gifts along the way. She was essential throughout the entire process, and blessed us big time. -

We booked the wedding day management package and were very happy with the amount of check-ins and guidance that Mae offered in the lead-up to our wedding. Mae and her team took charge of all the coordination, vendor management, etc. on the wedding day, which made it possible for me and my husband to relax and enjoy every minute! Thank you, Mae! -

Mae was wonderful to work with for our wedding this year. We booked her almost a year in advance, and from our first planning session, she helped us get even more excited about the day while figuring out what we actually wanted (neither of us had strong opinions at the start). She listened, offered creative ideas, and helped us figure out a plan that felt like us.
As our wedding got closer, Mae kept us organized and on track without ever making things feel overwhelming. The weather forecast was all over the place, and she helped keep us as calm and prepared as we could be. It did end up raining, but Mae and her team handled our plan so smoothly that we didn't even notice anything happening behind the scenes :)
Mae is warm, friendly, professional, and brings such a calming energy to every interaction. We’re SO grateful for her support and highly recommend working with her! -

I’ve still been floating from our beautiful wedding day at Park Winters, but I really wanted to leave this review to recommend Mae at Beyond Smitten Events for any future brides! My husband and I decided to go with the “Month-of-Coordination” package since our wedding was going to be smaller and more intimate with a guest count in the 40s and since I am that Type A bride who plans way too much for her own good. Although I had thought we had most of the work done on our own, we quickly realized during our check-in meetings the real value of having a professional coordinator on our team. Mae was so easy to work with, calm, gentle, and most importantly, she was fully supportive and made us feel comfortable with our own visions and ideas for a wedding that did not fit the “traditional” template of a wedding. We really appreciated her responsiveness via email and text, her communication with our vendors and venue, and for her incredible flexibility on our wedding day despite the unpredictable on-and-off rain. She and her assistant still managed to keep everything running smoothly so that we didn’t have to worry about anything, and our wedding day still turned out SO beautiful and special! I can’t thank her and her assistant enough. I highly recommend Beyond Smitten Events for any couples needing a wedding planner/coordinator for their wedding in the future! -

Our Perfect Day with Beyond Smitten Events
We cannot recommend Mae Mallon and her team at Beyond Smitten Events highly enough! From the beginning, Mae kept us on track with a gentle and warm approach, making the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. She was instrumental in turning our vision into reality, meticulously coordinating with vendors, family, and friends to ensure everything was seamless.
Mae was always accessible, responding promptly to our questions and concerns, which was incredibly reassuring. Her budget-conscious strategies were a lifesaver, helping us prioritize our wants and stay within financial limits without compromising on the quality of our big day. Her vendor recommendations were spot-on, reflecting her deep understanding of the industry and our personal tastes.
One of the standout qualities of Mae and her team was their ability to handle the complexities of our blended family. They made sure that the dozen or so children at our wedding were included and entertained, all while maintaining the sophistication of the event—no easy feat!

We had a fantastic experience with Mae and her team. We hired their month of coordinator services and they made what was supposed to be the most chaotic last 3 months of wedding planning an absolute breeze! Mae was very communicative, proactive, and so professional - she helped us stay on our timelines and filled in the holes for everything we didn't think of. We really felt like the day couldn't have gone more perfectly and it was truly major kudos to Mae and her wonderful team. We will be recommending them to all of our engaged friends!! -

Pleasure to work with!
From the first initial contact, Mae has been a pleasure to work with. She is sweet, calm and works well under pressure. I was given the task of planning my son’s wedding within 5 months (my son and his fiancé live in Germany). Didn’t really know where to begin as I have NEVER planned a wedding before. I hired Mae on blind faith and I was not disappointed. She is just absolutely phenomenal! Not pushy but rather encouraging and supportive.
As the wedding rapidly approached, I was understandably feeling the stress. Mae said, “...don’t worry about a thing, that’s what I’m here for.” Great words of comfort which I am so appreciative to this day. I can’t thank Mae enough for all her hard work. BOOK MAE!! Seriously, you won't regret it! We honestly couldn't have made it through the wedding day without Mae and her team. I'm one of those skeptics, 'do we really need a wedding coordinator?' Now I can't imagine how we would've done it without her. Here's where Mae shined:
- Reliability. Mae was on top of her game and executed our planning details into the most gorgeous set up. She was calm, collected, and worked with what we wanted with ease. She established trust so easily that on the wedding day I had no worries about any details.
- Enthusiasm. When I felt buried under details and stressed Mae was the shining source of energy we needed. We didn't feel like another client in a spreadsheet, she was authentic.
- Execution. I had multiple guests come up to me and tell me the timing of the wedding was amazing. They appreciated the flow and never felt rushed or stuck. All our vendors (and their timelines) were seamlessly managed, there weren't any hiccups. That was all Mae!!
If you're considering a wedding planner or coordinator I cannot recommend Beyond Smitten Events enough. Do yourself the favor and book them!

She helped Roland and I make sure our wedding day was perfect, since the start she has been very easy to talk to and always responsive. If I needed recommendations for other vendors she was my go to and she recommended really good people. Mae referred our DJ and transportation after hearing I was having a difficult time finding the right fit. Mae is an amazing wedding planner and she made our special day as my husband would say “smooth”. She made sure problems were taken care of big or small (luckily ours was very minor) and was always there for us making sure we had a great time. I didn’t have a florist because I arranged fake flowers to save money, but Mae and her team setup our venues and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend her to anyone newly engaged and if you want a trusted person, Mae and her team are it. -

Where to begin. I found Mae through a vendor recommendation from our wedding venue and she did NOT DISAPPOINT. We had her as our month of coordinator and let me tell you, it was the best decision we had ever made. I used to think having a coordinator wouldn't be helpful but she was our saving grace. She was always quick and available to answer any of our questions and eased so much of our (mostly my) anxiety. She was so calm and kind and we were so lucky to have her be a part of our special day. The day of our wedding not only did I not have to worry about a single thing, but neither did my family. Her and her team handled it and made it so absolutely perfect. Stress Free and AMAZING Wedding
Beyond Smitten Events made planning my wedding stress free- even during a pandemic! I chose to do the package with wedding planning and day-of coordination and it was SO worth it! Mae even helped coordinate my Rehearsal Dinner- she can do it all!
Mae was so flexible, solutions oriented and organized- it was truly a dream to work with her! She was also extremely responsive to any questions or concerns I had throughout the planning process. She made sure that everything was done on a timeline, vendors were organized and honestly so many other details I hadn’t even considered. She made my entire vision come to life! On the actual wedding day- she made sure everything was set up perfectly and that all of the vendors knew exactly what to do and where to go. I feel so lucky to have gone through this process with Mae- she is amazing at what she does! I would highly recommend Beyond Smitten Events for your wedding!! -

Every bride needs a day of coordinator! It is the best money you will spend! Mae is great! She has great attention to details. I really appreciate how she begins taking over far before your wedding. She makes you feel sane and helps you through it! She also works magic the day of. Literally, I wanted my outside ceremony decor brought inside for the reception and she made it happen (including my 10ft octagon arch). And I didn't even see her do it. She is great! -

Mae is Amazing!
My husband and I hired Mae for day-of coordination. It was the best decision we made. She was so wonderful! Mae responded to every text and email almost immediately. I could not even imagine what our wedding day would have been like without her. I have a difficult time letting go of control. However, Mae made it easy because she saw our vision and made it a reality. With Mae, neither me nor my husband had to worry about a thing. Mae made everything so seamless, our guests and wedding party noticed and complimented us on how smooth everything went and how beautiful our wedding was. The best you'll find
Where do I even begin? I debated about getting a day of coordinator until multiple former brides told me it's a necessity (they were right). I was planning my Sacramento wedding from Southern California and I really didn't know much about the area or who to look to. So, I turned to all the different wedding websites and found Beyond Smitten Events. Mae was there for me from start to finish. Having that support system during the planning and especially the day of was hands down one of the best things I did for our wedding (and honestly, myself). Mae was incredibly responsive and so accommodating to us. Mae and her team had the day flow by effortlessly. I've heard horror stories of weddings, but I can honestly say not one thing went wrong and I truly believe that is because Mae and her team were behind the scenes guiding everything.
I cannot recommend her enough to any bride looking for a wedding coordinator. You will sincerely not regret it.

Rockstar of our wedding
Mae was the absolute best decision we made for our wedding. I found her here on WeddingWire and could not be more thankful for taking a chance on something I found via an online review! She went above and beyond to help us out, was thoughtful, organized, and excellent in managing family dynamics. Our venue was not an easy one (even though we absolutely LOVED it) as it was 1 mile down a dirt road and mostly outdoors. Mae took on the challenge with aplomb! She has a calm, professional and fun attitude that made our day so very special. She also executed the most beautiful reception tables and decorations in our outdoor born! There were MANY hiccups that occurred from vendor vehicles breaking down on the way to our venue for the rehearsal, to unexpected snow on wedding day (!) --> Mae + team handled all of the issues with grace and I can't begin to express how much her support, guidance and orchestration made our weekend flow so smoothly. We are SO SO SO thankful she was at the helm of our special weekend. We love you Mae! -

Mae was beyond amazing! My husband and I were on a tight budget so at first I wasn't going to hire a coordinator. But after trying to do everything myself, I quickly realized I needed help. I reached out to Mae and she was available to talk over the phone to go over our needs. She recommended her month-of-coordination services and I am so glad we went with her. Throughout the entire process she helped keep me organized, offered suggestions, and listened to our vision. On the day of the wedding she made sure everything went seamlessly without stressing us out. I highly recommend hiring her. I just wish I could have hired her to be our wedding planner throughout the entire process. -

We got married just two days ago and are still feeling the excitement of our wedding day, which would not have been a success without Mae. I can't say enough wonderful things about Mae. From our first meeting at a coffee shop in San Francisco, it felt like getting together with a friend. We hired her for the month of coordination, but she checked in with us throughout the months leading up to our wedding and was always available to answer questions and provide advice. We were planning a beautiful outdoor wedding in Foresthill, CA. Then the week before we were hit with cold and rain. Our vision for a spring wedding turned into a winter storm. Naturally I began to panic, but Mae was amazing and quickly helped us think through alternative spots for the cocktail hour, and we managed to shift things around so that everyone could stay warm and dry. Everything turned out more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. And during the wedding I didn't need to worry about a thing. Mae had everything under control and was so calm throughout, I don't know how she does it. I would recommend Mae to anyone, for any type of wedding. She can handle it all! -

If you want effortless perfection!
Mae was the MVP of our day! As soon as Mae and her team arrive on wedding day I felt like we could breathe. It was like asking a already family member and or friend to direct the best day of our lives. I never expected such detail that was undirected (on our part) on such a hectic day.
We all anticipate having a wonderful wedding when planning but hiring Beyond Smitten(Mae) will guarantee you the wedding that you deserve. If you really knew me I don’t usually warm up to people very easily but for some reason Mae made our entire wedding process a dream. She calmed the nervousness, she was relaxed and efficient, confident with being very clear, and assertive without the pressure of being a know it all.(You know those people)
We wanted all of our guess and vendors to blend in together and be taken care of during the wedding. We didn’t want to worry about anything on our day. If things arised “like not having a place card or chair for one of our guest” we didn’t want to feel those things during the wedding. Guess what? We didn’t have to because we hired the right crew. She really did think of everything! See you Mae in 10 years for the renewal!!! -

Mae was incredible from the moment I contacted her. She responded the same day and scheduled a phone call right away. And everything from then on was like butter! We went for the partial planning service since we already did most of the planning ourselves, but we just needed a professional to help us with the fine details and make sure everything actually happened. Mae validated all of our ideas that we already had and offered suggestions that were SO helpful that we definitely wouldn’t have thought of on our own. She is a PRO! But more than that, she was so easy to work with. I was stressed out a lot in the weeks before the wedding but every time we met with Mae, she made me feel like we were doing everything right and like we were exactly where we needed to be. Our meetings were more like hangouts over coffee and pastries and walks in the sun. And on the day of the wedding, Mae and her assistant, Megan, handled everything with confidence, tranquility, and respect for us and everyone in attendance. We felt an instant connection from the moment we sat down with Mae for our consultation. We instantly started coming up with ideas for our wedding. She inspired creative thoughts and made us feel super comfortable. She is super personable, fun, and professional. We hired Beyond Smitten Events for their Month of Coordination package. I could not be happier with my decision to do so. Mae was there for every little question I had leading up to the wedding. She provided me with inspiration, ideas, and support when I needed it. She even went as far as to send me a handwritten note a few weeks before the wedding to show me that she truly cares. The day of was absolutely perfect because of Mae. We ran into an issue with the flowers and Mae jumped straight in to correct it without hesitation. She completely saved the day for me. I 100% recommend her to anyone in need of a planner. -

Mae Mallon was our wedding coordinator for our wedding on October 6, 2018. My husband and I are truly blessed to have crossed paths with Mae! We have nothing but amazing things to say about her!
She assisted us with partial planning for a year and a half. From the second we met Mae, we felt an instant connection, and we just knew she was the one!! To say she went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we dreamed of is truly an understatement. Mae is professional, punctual, and organized! She is also super sweet! She is great at what she does and always has a solution to every situation. She helped my husband and I navigate so many stages of the planning process, and always had the best input to help narrow down our ideas. We had a particular vision to incorporate our customs and traditions into our wedding, and Mae made it happen. She works great with all other vendors and is super helpful to your guests! We couldn't have had our dream wedding without her! To anyone who is planning a wedding: look no further!! Mae is the best coordinator ever!!

Leanna Sent on 09/01/2018At the beginning of my wedding planning process, I didn't even know that a day-of-wedding-coordinator existed, let alone what all they did. I thought I could delegate family members to be point persons for the day, and the behind the scene contact with vendors. As our date came closer, I had no idea how many details and decisions there were to be made planning a wedding. Why would I, right? I had never been married before. Mae ended up being the first vendor I hired (referred to me by a family friend), because I realized early on that our wedding day would be the one time all our family and friends would be together to help celebrate us, and I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted our family and friends to enjoy this day also and not be delegates of chaos. I learned that although I hired Mae as our day-of-coordinator, her services began months before the wedding. She maintained consistent contact with us and with our vendors, making sure that everyone was on the same page and timeline. Mae is extremely organized and detail oriented with spread sheets and deadlines so nothing was forgotten or last minute. Looking back, hiring Mae was the smartest decision I made. There is no price tag for a perfect wedding day. We received so many complements from our family and friends, "Everyone's been to weddings before, but not like yours!" We kept hearing this. It was a beautiful day, beyond a great party that ran smooth and appeared effortless-thanks to Mae. I would hire Mae a hundred times over again, and have recommended her to all my girlfriends with upcoming wedding dates. I am forever grateful to her, Thanks Mae!

Planning a wedding is very stressful ,hiring Mae was the best wedding decision we made . She went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out perfect. She's very organized and professional. She really loves what she does and you can see that right away from the first conversation you have with her . At first we weren't sure if it was worth it to spend money on a coordinator. I honestly don't see how we could've done it without Mae's help . The day of the wedding is so hectic . Luckily we had her help and didn't have to worry about anything . She made sure to ask probing questions to get more information from us to get our vision on our day of; as well as from the vendors to make sure everything was perfect. She managed 2 difficult vendors for us on the day of the wedding. I literally do not know how I would have survived without Mae.
Mae met with us on three occasions to make sure that everything was how we wanted it, from initial to the final details. She provided a great recommendation for our rehearsal dinner. It would be a mistake to not hire her - she did a wonderful job, was kind and polite but held her ground when needed. She was there at set-up time making sure all the vendors were organized and set-up our centerpieces, programs, and other items herself. Like I already said, my husband and I do not know how we would have survived stress-free without Mae.
