We got a gluten free vanilla and lemon cake from Bean Counter and all of our guests kept telling us how good it tasted. Easily one of the best gluten free cakes I've tasted (says the groom with celiac disease), and the rest of our guests enjoyed it as they would a non-gluten-free delicious cake. We want to go to them for any future events we have--and we are really looking forward to our first anniversary so we can eat the top portion of our cake!

The best cake around
We love Bean Counter. My husband and I both went to WPI and Bean Counter was always a special treat during our years there. This past fall we got married and from the start of planning I knew that I wanted our cake to come from Bean Counter. We did side by side taste tests with some other well rated bakeries but Bean Counter came out on top. We were surprised how many cakes are dry or have an off flavor, but Bean Counter’s cake is perfect and flavorful. Their buttercream frosting is my absolute favorite as it is particularly creamy. Rather than a traditional wedding cake, we opted for one of their standard decorated cakes with a beautiful floral pattern that perfectly matched our aesthetic and a sheet cake with photos of the two of us. Both came out amazing and I can’t wait to enjoy the second tier of our cake on our anniversary!

Allergy Friendly and Delicious!
As a person with severe food allergies I was worried that I was not going to be able to have the wedding cake that I had dreamed about and I was so wrong. I shared my allergies and vision with Alice and she immediately responded with how she would be able to accommodate us! We were even able to do a tasting, something I thought I would not be able to do. As a gift to my fiancé, he's a real Super Mario/Nintendo lover, I reached out separately to Alice and asked if we could create a surprise, "Grooms Cake," that was just for him and was not catering to my allergies. She loved the idea and we went back and forth until the perfect design was set. On wedding day, the cake was delivered promptly, my cake topper and my secret cake topper were added and everything was beautiful. Our cake was delicious and my fiancé was through the moon when he got his surprise. With the rising cost of everything these days, I felt that our cost was more than reasonable for what we asked for and I would do it all again the same way.

Dream wedding cake - gluten free!
Our wedding was a couple years ago now (Oct 2022) and we are still dreaming about our amazing wedding cake made by the Bean Counter Bakery! Alice and the entire team were so lovely to work with and helped make our dream wedding cake a reality! What was particularly amazing was that the cake was gluten-free (as the bride has Celiac) and it was so delicious that none of our guests could tell. We received so much amazing feedback from our family and friends about how delicious the wedding cake was! It was a gluten-free carrot cake without nuts with a cream cheese frosting layer and buttercream outer frosting to hold the structure of the design better. We are truly so grateful to the Bean Counter for helping make our wedding cake dreams come true!

Delicious Cake!
We chose a simple vanilla with vanilla buttercream cake to have on the cake table for the purpose of cutting the cake for a photo, it was a simple two tier cake that served 28 people. In addition we purchased sheet cakes that were also vanilla with vanilla buttercream and a second one that was chocolate with vanilla buttercream and it was a HUGE cost savings- about half the price of a traditional wedding cake.

THE wedding cake bakery
People are still talking about the wedding cake! It was scrumptious as were the dozens of mini desserts and the dozens of chocolate covered strawberries. The couple only wanted a very small 2 tier cake - but as the mother of the bride - I knew people would remember the cake so we also ordered a double layer specialty sheet cake so that every slice served was the same. These cakes along with the other desserts were all devoured. Alice Lombardi and her team were attentive, very detail oriented, excellent communicators, timely and very professional. Bean Counter Bakery is now our go to bakery and I highly recommend them.

One Taste and You'll be Hooked
We used The Bean Counter for our wedding cake and were so happy with how it turned out. There are beautiful wedding cakes, and there are delicious wedding cakes - and you don’t often get both … but you will with Alice. Her cakes taste incredible and our biggest problem was picking which flavor we wanted - try them all! They have many flavors, and they were all delicious and rich. They have many designs to choose from, and they made us a beautiful cake that included figurines of our three dogs. We had The Bean Counter on our radar based on an earlier tasting event we had attended, and then we found out they had made the cake for one of our friends years earlier which we specifically remembered loving, so it was a no-brainer that we'd use them for our wedding, and we were not disappointed. Great cake design, incredible flavor, and on-time delivery; we'd highly recommend them!

The best cake we have literally ever eaten
I cannot possibly express how much we were OBSESSED with our wedding cake from Bean Counter!!!!! Alice was not only an expert in delicious cake and design, but friendly, helpful, and communicative. We have many allergies in our family to gluten and tree nuts including myself and most of our wedding party. Alice made us feel so safe in having our completely gluten and tree nut free cake for our wedding, along with our incredible cannolis and eclairs. My old school Italian family was RAVING about how delicious it all was! I barely wanted a wedding cake before going to our original cake tasting because I was convinced that there was no way that a gluten free wedding cake would be good. I was SO wrong! After eating the first bite, I was literally more excited about our cake than I have ever been about any dessert in my entire life (which, believe me, says a lot). We fell in love with not only our cake flavors (one layer lemon/raspberry, one layer apple pie filling, and one layer chocolate chip cannoli), but Alice worked with us to get the perfect design that we wanted. Our cake was GORGEOUS and we can't wait to get photos back from our photographer so we can keep reminiscing about our beautiful AND delicious cake! We cannot say enough good things about Alice and her unbelievable talent. Hire this bakery!!!!!

1 - the business owner, Alice, is very responsive and always returned my phone calls and emails right away. Many wedding vendors were hard to get ahold of, but that was not the case with Alice. I truly enjoyed working with her.
2 - I had numerous guests say our wedding cake was the best cake they'd ever had. We ended up having a chocolate cake inside (with chocolate frosting in the middle) and vanilla buttercream on the outside so it looked like a white cake. It was PHENOMENAL! The cake is so moist and truly will leave guests wanting an extra slice.

The Bean Counter Bakery did an amazing job with our wedding cake. We had great communication with Alice from our initial meeting to the wedding day. Our wedding date in 2020 was canceled and pushed back a year and we had no issues rescheduling with them. At the initial meeting they gave us all the details we needed to know about choosing a cake and we were able to try several flavors. We ended up with a three tier cake with each tier a different flavor and filling. It was delicious and beautiful! Would highly recommend Bean Counter Bakery for your wedding cake.

One of the highlights of wedding planning is the cake tasting, and if you choose Bean Counter Bakery, you’re really in for a treat! We chose Bean Counter Bakery because not only did their flavors blow us away, but we were also excited to support a local, woman-owned business. We chose a spice cake with an apple caramel filling and buttercream frosting and, oh man, just remembering it is making me hungry! The cake was beautiful and absolutely divine. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the cake was: delicately moist, not overwhelmingly sweet, and perfectly fitting for a New England fall wedding. The Bean Counter team was a joy to work with and our wedding day delivery was seamless. I’m still thinking about the cake 🤤. I highly recommend trying this bakery for your dessert needs.

We were married on 12/11/2021 and decided to go with Bean Counter as they are the preferred vendor for our venue, and we are so glad we did!! Alice and team did an incredible job with our wedding cake! From the moment we met Alice she was professional and so organized. We enjoyed trying all of the flavors with her at the tasting and she even invited us back to try more, if needed! Alice and her husband transported our cake all the way to Kennebunk, ME too. I was blown away at how gorgeous the cake was - it looked exactly like the photo I had showed her for by vision! Best of all, Alice's cake flavors and taste are unlike any other. (not too sweet and perfectly moist). We got the vanilla cake with lemon filling and vanilla buttercream frosting and it was just perfect (our guests are still telling us how delicious the cake was). Even those guests who didn't like lemon LOVED this flavor. The cake looked great on Alice's cake stand as well. I would recommend Alice to any other bride.

The Bean Counter Bakery has the best cake I have ever eaten! They are moist, flavorful, and just the perfect amount of sweetness, and the fillings are out-of-this-world delicious. We loved the cake so much during our cake tasting, we had to go back another day to get more. Delicious and beautiful wedding cake!
Alice and the Bean Counter did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. We found them through our venue (Fruitlands), and heard great things from other couples about their buttercream frosting (no fondant!) which is exactly what we were looking for.
We did our cake tastings during COVID, so we took our samples to go. We went for it and tried 7 different combinations, and Alice even had a sample of banana pudding cake made for us (a non-standard flavor for them, since I was interested in a banana cake option). In the end, we decided on a funfetti cake with raspberry buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting, and it was delicious! The cake itself was light, and there was the right amount of filling and frosting without it being overwhelming - it was one of the best cakes I’ve had. Our guests loved it, and even though we ordered more than enough cake, it was totally finished by the end of the night. Alice also kindly made vegan cupcake versions of our cake for a few of our guests so they could have some, too.
Her team also frosted it beautifully (a simple horizontal stripe pattern), and worked with our florists to add the cake florals for a simple but pretty look.
I highly recommend the Bean Counter to anyone looking for a wedding cake or another event cake that will be delicious and pretty!

As someone that loves to bake, having a great wedding cake was at the top of my list. I am so grateful that I worked with Bean Counter Bakery for my wedding in July 2021! Alice is personable, talented, and organized, and took the time to get to know me and my vision for cake. I also have a food allergy, and Alice took special precautions to ensure that I could enjoy my own wedding cake (and all the samples we tried) without worrying. All of the flavors that we sampled were delicious, so it was hard to decide! We ended up going with chocolate cake/chocolate filling and vanilla cake/strawberry cheesecake filling. As dessert lovers, having a wedding cake that was delicious was really important to us. We drove over an hour to try Bean Counter Bakery after receiving multiple recommendations. We had high expectations and were definitely not disappointed. Alice is wonderful; she has so many amazing flavors and worked with us to come up with a cake that looked classy but also reflected our style/preferences. We ended up going with a pretty untraditional wedding cake (chocolate with mocha filling and ganache frosting) and it was a huge hit. Given that she had worked with our venue before, she was actually able to offer us a topping that typically we wouldn’t be able to get in summer. I think the best way to evaluate their quality is the fact that due to covid, our numbers for our wedding were down from 120 to 70 guests. We still ordered enough cake for all 120 thinking we could enjoy our leftovers for weeks after the wedding. The cake was so popular that we had ended up with just a few slices left over, which disappeared quickly over the course of the night. We are very happy we went with Bean Counter Bakery, and will be returning in coming years for some anniversary cake!

Alice is amazing!
Alice and her team are amazing at what they do. She's been doing this for decades, and has made cakes of all different types and sizes. We ended up having a two layer cake for about 80 people that was light on the frosting and emphasized some natural flowers. Bean Counter Bakery delivered from Worcester to our venue at The Oceanview of Nahant in their special cake-mobile, and they beautifully decorated the cake with flowers left form our florist. There are so many details about the wedding cake that Bean Counter Bakery has mastered. For example, our pinterest cake pins were a lot of four layer cakes, so there were some artistic subtleties that needed to be addressed translating designs to a two layer cake. Alice automatically saw that and was really patient explaining and drawing pictures to us. Our families were also blown away by how the cake tasted; they were expecting a cake that was too sweet or too dense, whereas the cake ended up just being delicious.

The Most Delicious Cake You'll Ever Taste!
Our guests are still raving about our wedding cake (and we got married 8 months ago)!
I've been planning weddings in the Boston market for 10+ years and every time one of my clients shares just how much they love dessert and how important the taste / flavor of their wedding cake will be... I ALWAYS bring them to Alice. The cakes that come out of this bake shop are absolutely delicious and the flavor options are endless! My husband and I ended up choosing three flavors for our cake (Vanilla Buttercream with Rainbow Chips and Funfetti Cake (just like my mother-in-law use to make when my husband was a kid), White Chocolate Peppermint Buttercream and Chocolate Cake (think Peppermint Pattie!), and White Chocolate Amaretto Buttercream with Fresh Strawberries and Vanilla Cake (one of my mom's specialties)! All three were DELICIOUS!!!!
In addition to being super tasty, Alice and her team did an incredible job with the design. I am pretty particular about wedding design / décor and wanted the color of the cake to match perfectly. We chose to do some color blocking with a soft blue over the natural cream so during our tasting I left Alice one of our wedding invitations so she could use it as a reference to create the custom color for our design... IT CAME OUT PERFECT!
All in all I could not be happier with our wedding cake and highly recommend Alice and her team to anyone planning a wedding! If you love delicious dessert then you won't be disappointed!!

Simply the BEST wedding cake
Our wedding cake from the bean counter was fantastic. We went with an understated, simple cake design for our micro wedding, yet it was truly very elegant and exactly what we wanted. We didn't really expect guests to comment on the cake, but MANY guests told us how truly beautiful and delicious the cake was. We loved it and our guests could not get enough either! We also had to change our wedding plans on short notice due to COVID. We contacted Alice a month before our micro wedding and she took care of us right away. We did a tasting, placed the order and on the day of the wedding the bean counter delivered everything seamlessly. It was easy, perfect and truly the best wedding cake I've ever had. The most wonderful wedding cake we could have imagined. Alice worked with us to get just the right combination of flavors and options to make the bride and groom happy! We did our tasting during COVID and felt safe the whole time. Stunning and Delicious Gluten Free and Traditional Cakes!!
Alice and the Bean Counter Bakery did a phenomenal job with our wedding cakes! Alice and her team were fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. My husband and I wanted to sample both gluten-free and traditional cake options, and Alice was extremely accommodating and generous with our tasting samples. We were blown away by the delicious taste of all the cakes we sampled. Alice was very helpful and attentive to detail in our preferences for the wedding cake designs, and even matched the cake fondant to a fabric swatch sample we sent. Wow! We were so impressed by her work that, in addition to our traditional and gluten-free wedding cakes, we also ordered several cheesecakes to serve at our post-wedding brunch. Alice delivered everything to our wedding in western Massachusetts in perfect condition. The cakes were stunning and delicious – our guests happily devoured all the desserts. We thought we’d have gluten-free cake left over since only a few guests required gluten-free options, but they were so delicious that they too were quickly gone! We could not have been happier and highly recommend working with Alice for your wedding.

Spectacular!
Tasting the Bean Counter samples was our favorite part of wedding planning! Alice will help you figure out your options and make your vision a reality. It was delivered exactly right. It looked so elegant, the crumb was moist, the frosting and filling were fluffy and sweet, but not overly sugary. We celebrated our one year anniversary, and family and friend are still talking about our beautiful and delicious wedding cake. It froze excellently too, which is important to keep with the one year anniversary tradition!

The most delicious wedding cake
We had the most delicious wedding cake thanks to The Bean Counter! Our wedding venue caterer only works with The Bean Counter and one other local bakery, so we tried samples at two bakeries and thought The Bean Counter was the clear winner. Their cake is gorgeous with a wonderful crumb, their buttercream is some of the best I've ever had, and their fillings are delishious, inventive, and freshly made. We opted for a lemon curd and raspberry filling that was a spectacular hit . At my husband's request, we also opted for funfetti cake, which was a fun treat for our guests. I only wish the bakery was closer to our home so that we could enjoy it often!

Absolutely Beautiful!
When my husband and I were looking for the perfect dessert vendor, we knew right away that nothing compared to Bean Counter. The quality of the desserts, wide variety, and working with Alice were unmatched! My jaw dropped when I finally saw our cake at the reception. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen. Alice had made hydrangea sugar flowers with a blue shade that matched my bridesmaids' dresses. The flowers covered the top tier of the cake. I was blown away! Guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious the wedding cake was and our small desserts all selected from the Bean Counter. If you are looking in the Worcester area, I just want to say that I have reached out to every dessert vendor in the area. When I told them that I wanted a traditional wedding cake, some of them even recommended Bean Counter to me. I felt like this was the easiest decision we made. Work with Alice, pick Bean Counter, have a great experience!!

They make the best cake!!
We got married on 10/26/19 in Princeton, MA. We got our cake made by Alice and they delivered it to our venue! The cake is so amazing! I ate all the leftovers within a week. She uses the best ingredients and the cake was beautiful! She gives you many options on how you want the wedding cake to look. She is so nice and a pleasure to work with during the wedding planning process.

Wedding cake was so beautiful and delicious!
My husband and I aren't even cake people but our cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Alice was great to work with - it is hard as the wedding approaches finalizing details and Alice took it upon herself to email our venue for a final guest count which we appreciated so much! We bought our own cake topper and had our florist provide cake flowers and our coordinator left all that on the cake table and Alice handled it all. We saved the top tier but on our first anniversary Alice will bake a fresh top tier for our anniversary!
Alice and staff really know what they are doing and the cake was SO good!

Cake perfection!
Alice and her team were amazing to work with from day one. My husband has celiacs disease, so we needed to have a gluten free tasting. Alice was more than accommodating for this need. Her gluten free cakes are super moist and flavorful, which is not an easy thing to do. She made us a 6” gf groom’s cake in the same style as our typical cake. Our typical cake was absolutely delicious! I brought the leftovers to work with me after the wedding and a coworker that’s getting married asked for Alice’s and Bean Counter Bakery’s information. It’s not an exaggeration-her cakes really are THAT good!

Alice from The Bean Counter was wonderful to work with. She did an amazing job capturing the look I wanted for my wedding cake. The flavors were TO DIE FOR. From the frosting, to the filling, to the cake itself - all of it is absolutely delicious. The Bean Counter also offers gluten free options which worked out perfectly for me as many of my guests were allergic to gluten. I would highly recommend The Bean Counter to anyone!!!

Our guests couldn't get enough!
Alice at Bean Counter was an absolute angel! Not only did she help us design the wedding cake and cupcake spread of our dreams, she was incredibly helpful and professional with accommodating for allergies in the guest list and wedding party. One of our guests had severe allergies to several extremely common ingredients, to the point that she had not been able to safely have cake for almost a decade. Alice was able to accommodate every single allergy, and the guest was so happy she cried at the reception, saying it was one of the best cupcakes she had ever had. She wasn't the only one: our guests DEVOURED the cupcakes, and everyone raved about them all night! Delivery was prompt, everything was perfect, and Alice was an absolute joy to work with.

Alice and the talented artists at the Bean Counter are always a pleasure to work with. My sister got her wedding cake here and it was delicious, so this is the only bakery I went to for a tasting. I had a very specific vision for my wedding cake, and at the tasting Alice sketched it out and helped tweak the design until it was absolutely perfect. I had created a monogram that I used across different printed materials, and they recreated it so wonderfully with frosting. I tried 6 different flavors at the tasting, and it was difficult to narrow it down to 2 flavors! We ended up with White Chocolate Strawberry and S'mores. Both were a hit!

Alice was wonderful to work with and helped us design our dream wedding cake. During the tasting, the flavors were so good that we had a hard time narrowing it down for the big day. So Delicious!
Our cake was so delicious that the only bite we got was the one when we cut our cake! I have never been to a wedding where the guests eat all the cake but we heard for days on end after our wedding how amazing everyone thought our cake was and how they went back for seconds! By the time we got a chance to eat some, it was all gone! And not because we didn't order enough - almost everyone got seconds!
They even made gluten free and vegan cupcakes for our wedding party who had allergies!
Absolutely amazing - can't wait for our anniversary cake!

Alice is absolutely incredible. We tasted her cakes at an expo at our venue and there was absolutelf NO COMPARISON to the other bakeries. Her cakes were moisit, flavorful and the buttercream was amazing. The other cakes were dry and the creams tasted like lard that left a film in your mouth.
I could not believe how well they replicated my vision! Cannot wait for our anniversary to have more!!

Our wedding cake from the Bean Counter was absolutely delicious. Guests were coming up to us saying it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. Not only was it delicious, it was beautiful too. We had a grooms cake made for my husband and it came out great too. It was a football with an Alabama "A" on it which is just what we wanted! Everyone from there was great to work with. oh my goodness I cannot explain how much I loved our cake from Bean Counter! I am gluten free but didn't want my guests to be stuck with a gluten free cake, so was going to order my own and then get a regular one for everyone else. Then we tried Alice's cakes and the gluten free was so good that we decided we only needed one! Everyone raved about how good it was and I'm already looking forward to ordering a smaller one every year for our anniversary.

The Bean Counter Bakery were the super heroes of our wedding day! Our wedding cake could not have been better. I have a dairy allergy, so making sure there was an option for me (the bride) was very important. Mary was sure to work with me regarding a dairy free option, even though the cake had dairy. She suggested doing an "upside down" cupcake to match the cake. She personalized the cake tasting for my husband and I and took her time thoroughly explaining to us the different flavors she has. She is professional, attentive, and a wonderful baker. Her enthusiasm for her craft is palpable.

Bean Counter had come highly recommended by both friends and family. Alice was very friendly and prompt in her email responses - at the cake tasting, we really enjoyed trying out the flavors we were deciding between and even had a few leftovers to take home. I went with a simple frosting design with a cake topper and flowers - all I had to do was email Alice a picture of the cake topper a few weeks beforehand so she could plan accordingly. The cake come out beautiful and was delicious - our guests ate the rest at our afterparty so I was sad to have no leftovers! They were also very accommodating with allergies --- I had a few cupcakes made that were gluten free and nut free that also received good reviews from our guests.

BEST CAKE EVER. I am beyond impressed with the work that Alice and her team at the Bean Counter do on wedding cakes. All of their work is incredibly detailed! We had a 3-layer cake for our 9/9/17 wedding with 3 different flavors of cake/filling and no one was disappointed! Funfetti, Chocolate with peanut butter mousse, and vanilla with chocolate mousse - all of them were so freaking delicious. We got to take a few slices home from the wedding and they were so good even a day or two later.
Alice was super easy to work with. I made a couple of changes after our initial meeting and there was no issue whatsoever. She was very responsive to emails and the cake was gorgeous! Would highly recommend Bean Counter!

It's been almost a year since our wedding and our friends are STILL asking us about our wedding cake! Hands down best vendor decision - Alice was so lovely and responsive, easy to work with and let us take our time as we chose the design for our wedding cake. And the cake - I still dream about it, it was so delicious and fresh! We had 3 fillings, and they were all absolutely devine! Thanks, Alice, for making our day so wonderful!

Our cake was gorgeous. We opted to go with fresh flowers arranged in a vine diagonally across the cake, and it was STUNNING. I literally jaw-dropped as I walked into the ballroom and saw the photographs. The cake was delicious, of course, we had plenty for the guests, and the presentation was unique and so beautiful. Thank you, Alice and team!

There are no words to express how beautiful our cake was for our wedding! Alice did such a phenomenal job--she is extremely talented! We met with her for the taste testing and discussed what I was looking for in my cake design. She drew up everything right there and made sure I loved what we had planned out. The cake exceeded my expectations, it was absolutely beautiful--not to mention it tasted INCREDIBLE. Alice and her team did such an amazing job with our wedding cake! Not only did it capture the theme of our wedding, but the tiny details and hand painted sea creatures really brought our cake to life! Alice was amazing to sit down with and outline what the cake would look like for our special day! She was easy to get a hold of, and responded quickly when I would email her with questions! Not only was the cake beautiful , it was gluten free and delicious! Our guests had no idea that the cake was gluten free! Our cake is something we will never forget and definitely would recommend bean counter bakery to our friends and family for future events or even for just some yummy desserts!

Alice and her team of artists did a FABULOUS job on our wedding cake. It not only was stunningly beautiful but it tasted delicious as well. Chocolate chip cannoli filled and red raspberry cream. So happy with our choices.

Alice's cake is so moist and the frosting absolutely perfect (not too sweet). This doesn't taste like a typical stiff/dry wedding cake and we couldn't be more pleased.
It was also beautiful! We paid a little extra to choose three different flavors and they were all big hits with our guests.
Alice also helped me out by delivering a birthday cake for my husband to the venue so I didn't have to worry about it on my wedding day.

Wedding planning can be stressful trying to make sure everything is perfect, it's nice to have great vendors that make your wedding day stress free!
My husband and I got married last month June 18, 2017 at Grandview in Mendon,MA and were told that we had our wedding cake included in our wedding package up to a certain $ amount. Grandview had a preferred wedding cake vendor and we weren't impressed. So I got onto The Knot and came across Bean Counter Bakery where I was directed to speak to Alice Lombardi, owner of Bean Counter Bakery. I spoke with her on the phone and set up a tasting.
We went in for our cake tasting and tried the Red Velvet which they had as a cupcake and the chocolate with chocolate mousse. She had cookies and cream filling in there for my husband because he LOVES oreos! We were very pleased with Alice taking the time to sit with us and answer any questions we had and for someone who isn't a cake fan I LOVED the cake!!!
We e-mailed back and forth on designs for the wedding cake and finally came up with a wedding cake design I liked! She also let me look at cake toppers as well!
Fast forward to the day of the wedding our cake arrived in a timely manner and was set up. We cut our cake and when I say it cut like butter it did!!! The cake was so good! We got compliments from all of our guest on the cake!
I will be sure to refer Alice at Bean Counter to any friends who are having parties or getting married in the near future! Alice thank you so much for all your hard work! We will be sending you a photo of our cake so that we may get a voucher for our anniversary cake!

Bean Counter had the best cake in Massachusetts. We order the “snowflake” cake (my favorite) and our guests devoured the cake. Everyone was raging about how good the cake was. But it doesn’t stop there- Alice and the people and the bean counter brought my vision of the cake to life. The cake looked like a 2-tier trunk of a birch tree, with fresh berries in each layer.
I was a bit afraid that the cake needed to travel around 100+ miles to the venue, but the delivery was right on time and the cake was just perfect! Thank you for making our wedding special!

I had a three tiered wedding cake made from the Bean Counter and a dozen gluten free cupcakes for some of the guests. It looked great and everything was delicious. I picked the funfetti flavor and my fiance picked the chocolate. Both were devoured at the wedding. People were going back for seconds.

We ordered our wedding cake from Bean Counter and were very happy with our choice! Our venue gave us a few bakeries to choose from and hands down they had the best tasting cake. We ordered a small cake from them as we were having a small wedding with other dessert options available - we got the Strawberry Snowflake Cake & it was amazing! I haven't eaten a whole slice of cake in a while but I could have eaten more then one slice! All of our guests loved it & kept saying how good it was. I plan on making another trip to get another one for a birthday or anniversary.

Bean Counter was great; everything was so easy to get set up. The tasting was organized well (and delicious!) and the prep for the wedding was so easy; they coordinated directly with our venue for delivery and timing and everything. Hard to beat a place that lets you a) achieve your dream of having funfetti cake at your wedding and b) provides cinnamon buns to augment a breakfast-themed reception!

Amazing!.....I have been to so many weddings where the cake is just ok or it tastes like it was made ahead of time and then frozen, that was not the case with the Bean Counter! Everything was amazing from the tasting, to the 6" cake that my husband and I cut, to the 180+ cupcakes that they made for all of our guests! I received so many compliments on how good the cupcakes were, if I had room I would have eaten one of each! Alice was great to work with everything went so smoothly with their whole team! If you are wondering whether or not to use the Bean Counter, go try some of their cake, it speaks for itself!

This cake was the most delicious cake I have ever had in my life, and every guest who had cake felt the same way! The Bean Counter was very easy to work with, and we even sat with one of the owners to help design our cake and go through the cake tasting with. Having attended WPI with one of the BC locations across from campus, I felt pretty strongly about the quality of bakery and was leaning going in the direction of choosing them - but the tasting and designing experience so blew away my now husband there was no doubt we were going to choose them! Bean Counter was also able to accommodate my gluten-free maid of honor and other guests with their own cupcakes - that attention to our needs was very appreciated, and my MOH was so thankful to have a sweet treat! Look forward to getting another cake for future celebrations from Bean Counter!

Alice and her team were amazing! Alice made us the perfect wedding cake that was delicious, beautiful and unique! We also got a mini cake for my husband who wanted a specific flavor and that was delicious too!
Alice was extremely helpful during the design process and I love how detail oriented and focused on quality she is.
We also had mini pasties for the tables and those were unbelievably tasty and beautiful.
I highly recommend Alice and the Bean Counter Bakery!

Nothing but good things to say. We loved our cake and everyone we dealt with at the Bean Counter. The format for our tasting was very comfortable and personal. Once we chose our design we never had to worry about a thing, the cake showed up looking spectacular and tasting great on our big day.

My husband and I booked with the Bean Counter after having one meeting with Alice Lombardi...we never even met with any other bakeries because we loved her cake and the vision she drew up for us so much. She is seriously a cake genius!!! She was extremely professional and prompt in returning our calls and emails. Our cake was vanilla with white cream and strawberry filling and it was the most delicious cake I have ever had in my entire life! She really listened to my vision of what I wanted the cake to look like, and it was everything I wanted and more! She is so skilled at piping and other cake decorating techniques, we had so many compliments on how beautiful (and delicious!) it was! Alice was also able to accommodate for one of my bridesmaids who eats a gluten free diet. She was able to create exactly the same flavors in a gluten free way, which I was so appreciative of! We had originally planned for one cake topper, but eventually decided with Alice that it was too heavy and switched to a floral cake topper instead made by our florist--she was so easy to work with during this last minute change, and I couldn't have pictured my cake any other way. It was absolutely stunning and I cant wait to eat it again on our anniversary!

Alice did a wonderful job with our cake. It came out exactly as I pictured it and she was able to accommodate a small topper into the design that wasn't planned for ahead of time. Not only was the cake beautiful it tasted wonderful. Several people commented on how good it was.

Wonderful people to work with - always smiling and ready to help! We chose a 4 tier cake with 2 different flavors! It was absolutely beautiful and tasted delicious!! I love that if you send in a formal picture of your wedding cake from your photographer you can get a free 6inch cake on your 1 year anniversary. I love the idea of enjoying a fresh cake rather than a frozen for a year cake on your anniversary!

Our wedding cake was amazing thanks to the Bean Counter! We met with Alice prior, and she was great about sitting down with us to review all of the different flavored and styles. We ended up choosing to go with their infamous snowflake cake, and everyone loved it! She was very easy to work with and definitely has a knack for detail. Would highly recommend!

The bean counter was fantastic! Our cake was beautiful and tasted just like it did when we did our tasting. In one word - incredible! Everyone at the wedding loved it. They were very accommodating with custom designs, and very helpful in putting a design together. We planned most of our wedding remotely and they worked with us every step of the way.

This place is incredible!! So easy to work with and the cakes are absolutely out of this world. Before our first meeting Alice and I exchanged emails so that we could pick a few different flavor combinations of cake and filling to try and they were ready right when we got there. They're individually made small round cakes and we got to take all the leftovers home - they didn't last long. She explained how the whole process would work and completely understood what we were looking for. She was genuinely excited to make our wedding cake. She's very responsive to email and answered all of my questions. When it came to the day of the wedding our cake was absolutely perfect and looked EXACTLY like I imagined it would. It was also the most delicious cake I've ever eaten - seriously. I would recommend the Bean Counter to any couples looking for a wedding cake or really for any cake at all.

Bean Counter Bakery serves the most delicious cake and cupcakes! Alice (owner) worked with us in creating a customized menu of 10 dozen cupcakes and our own personalized 6" cake. My husband and I love Boston cream pie but since it has to be kept refrigerated and we wanted to have our cake on display at our wedding, Alice worked on creating a special recipe that we tried during our tasting that allowed us to have our Boston cream and cake too! She was responsive to all my e-mails and they were very flexible when I needed to add on a few extra dozen cupcakes with the wedding only a week away! Guests raved all night long about how good the cupcakes were and loved all the different flavors. With so many great options you cannot go wrong with the Bean Counter for your wedding!

Alice is an absolute joy to work with! As a part of our wedding package for our venue, my husband and I were able to choose between three vendors to create our wedding cake. I've always heard such positive comments about the Bean Counter so it was any easy decision to work with Alice. I have to say, I am not a fan of dessert whatsoever, but the cake tasting was one of my absolute favorite parts of the wedding process! First off, the cake is absolutely amazing (and if you knew me, you'd know how weird it is for me to say that)!!! Secondly, Alice went above and beyond to design the perfect cake for us, including the exact shade and texture of gold we wanted. You can tell she truly loves her job and cares about her customers. We definitely plan to use the Bean Counter again for future events!
