Amazing all around

Very professional, they know what they're doing and are great at it. Immanuel helped me throughout the entire planning process insuring I did not forget common things, and was always quick to respond to any questions I had. Our event was a success thanks to them and their staff, they supplied bartenders for us as well as servers to distribute appetizers to guests. Food was also a 10 out of 10. Thank you Basnights.

Delicious food - don't hesitate to book!

We were so happy with our choice to book Lone Cedar for our wedding! Immanuel was so kind and very communicative when building the menu and having the tasting. We landed on Parmesan Crusted Chicken with potatoes, and Shrimp Scampi, both delicious! We also added on Dishware and Bartenders through them. Thank you!

Outstanding Wedding Catering from Lone Cedar!

We were so thrilled with our experience with Lone Cedar for our wedding! The food was absolutely incredible — everyone was still talking about how amazing the tuna was. We served both chicken and tuna, and everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service team was so friendly and professional, and everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Lone Cedar is such a beloved local staple, and they truly lived up to their reputation. Immanuel was wonderful in all of my questions. We couldn’t have been happier and can’t recommend them enough!

perfect wedding experience!

Lone Cedar was AMAZING - they were so flexible and honest with recommendations in the lead up to the wedding in planning the menu and set up the tasting perfect to add things as well. they were super responsive also and turned updated contracts around immediately. then the wedding went off without a hitch! people had great reviews and the food was genuinely so good, they also brought us our plates so we didnt have to wait in line. it was wonderful!

Our wedding experience

I cant recommend Lone Cedar enough for any catering needs in the OBX!!! My husband and I recently got married and food was just about the only thing I didnt have to worry about. We went to Lone Cedar for a tasting after choosing menu items we wanted to try. The food was so delicious, we knew immediately that Lone Cedar would be our caterer. On the wedding day, the chef and server arrived on time and began cooking our meal. Miranda and Kim were awesome and made sure we and all our guests were well fed. They boxed up all our leftovers and placed them in the fridge for us. They even broke down the rental tables and placed them back outside for us. I am so happy we decided to have Lone Cedar cater for us!!!

70th Birthday Celebration at the OBX

We had a great time celebrating my wife’s 70th Birthday, and we thank the Lone Cedar Catering team for making it so. All our kids, grand kids and some friends about 40 in all met at one house in the OBX to celebrate The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We continued to feast on the leftovers the next few days. What made it even better was that the staff was fun, attentive and professional. Everything was delivered, prepared, setup and cleaned up for us so that we could enjoy our time … celebrating!!!

Delicious Crowd Pleaser

Basnights Lone Cedar Cafe were a joy to work with from start to finish. We personally worked closely with Immanuel who was nothing but responsive, helpful, and kind. Excellent catering!!!

Basnights Lone Cedar was amazing to work with for our wedding! We used them for our welcome dinner (drop off) and our wedding dinner (buffet) and the food was sooo good both days. They are awesome to work with (super kind and helpful) and the menu is very versatile - they were flexible every time I wanted to make a change and they were happy to do it. The staff that was on site was excellent and so helpful. They made sure we got the food we wanted while we took pictures (and the dessert too). I would 100% recommend using them and can’t thank them enough!

Rehearsal dinner for 40 guests

We had Lone Cedar Catering prepare rehearsal dinner meals for our 40 guests. They came to the place we were all staying at to prepare the meals and the chef did an outstanding job! I had many compliments from our guests of how delicious their meals were. Their serving staff was very friendly, efficient, professional, and attentive throughout the time they were there. Since we live in Ohio, the details were all done thru emails and phone calls, and Immanuel and Courtney always made sure to answer all our questions thoroughly and promptly! We are very grateful to have Lone Cedar Catering be a special part of our wedding weekend!

Immanuel, Caroline, and Vicki deserve 10 stars!!!

We had the pleasure of having Lone Cedar as our caterers at our wedding and we would not have had it any other way. We have been long time customers and we knew that there was no other choice. We received compliments for weeks after the wedding about how great the food was. The filet was cooked to perfection, the fried shrimp was divine, and the grouper was melt in your mouth good. My favorite side was the posh squash followed closely by the roasted carrots. The servers and bartenders did an amazing job and they were all very professional and kind. Immanuel was very easy to work with and made the process fun! I highly recommend using Lone Cedar for your catering needs.

Amazing! Highly recommend

Best wedding food ever! We had perfectly prepared filet mignon and fresh fish with fruit salsa. The appetizers were so yummy also! Tuna tostada was my favorite. The servers were friendly, attentive and professional. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Lone Cedar. They have perfected the catering niche and I am so grateful to the entire team! I highly recommend Lone Cedar and would use them again.

A Magical Rehearsal Dinner

I was overwhelmed by the experience that Immanuel and the entire staff created for the rehearsal dinner for my son and his bride to be. Outstanding service that was warm and friendly. Great communication about exactly what we wanted. The result exceeded all of my expectations. We were able to personalize the outdoor venue to make it a truly memorable evening. The venue itself is just truly stunning. The staff was extremely professional and took the best care of us. I was so grateful to have Lone Cedar take care of us. Delicious dinner, professional staff

We used Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe to cater our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier! We found Immanuel easy to work with, all the staff were very professional, and they were flexible with dietary restrictions. The food was DELICIOUS! Our guests raved about all the food, but particularly the italian rice balls appetizer. Best yet, we thought they were incredibly reasonably priced, particularly when it came to the china and silverware you could rent. Everything was set up and broken down in a timely, neat manner. We highly recommend them for catering your next big event!

5 Star Catering from Start to Finish

I can not begin to say enough about our experience with Basnight's Lone Cedar. From the initial consultation with Immanuel, the follow up, finalizing and the event itself, everything was top notch. I felt confident that all aspects would be handled for the day of and just as I suspected the event went off without a hitch. When I arrived there were some additional needs that I had not anticipated and the staff was quick to accommodate. Maranda and the server staff were professional and catered to the needs we had. We will certainly use them again in the future for our catering needs.

The restaurant lais out the red carpet for me down to the cheering section by the staff and owners.

I had a large party and was a bit concerned over food being served cool, especially with the broiled seafood platters but as it turned out, everything came out of the kitchen piping hot. We had several broiled seafood platters, a few roasted chickens, and the most of the entrees were prime rib. I have to say that my dinner was fabulous as well as my guests. I pre ordered Proscecco for the table and our server, Patsy, was phenomenal in making sure glasses were full and appetizers were plentiful. The restaurant crew by allowing my girls to come in and decorate early, made this bride have the most stressfree wedding EVER!

September 2023 Wedding

Basnight provided both great food and great service for our wedding. Everyone was in love with the fried chicken and the oyster bar and guests still mention both to this day. The team was very communicative and flexible when it came to creating our custom menu. They are a local staple, and we would definitely recommend working with them!

We cannot say enough good things about Basnights Lone Cedar Catering! Immanuel was such a joy to work with, he was always quick to respond and accommodating to all of our requests. They provided all of the food for cocktail hour and dinner, provided a dessert bar, provided bartenders, and even supplied our brunch for the morning after the wedding. Everything was absolutely delicious, everyone was raving about how good the food was! And on top of that, every single member of their crew was so kind and friendly. Great catering experience

Working with Lone Cedar was a treat! They revamped our menu a time or two...or four. The quality of food was amazing. We ran out of white wine at one point and we were informed right away to ensure our guests didn’t go thirst. Their servers and bartenders are top notch.

Ya'll..... this place. I still can't stop thinking about the food!! Everyone told me how amazing dinner was! Since we live out of state, we never got to taste test anything. I wish we had! For no other reason than to be able to taste EVERYTHING on their menu. I was shoving one of the cocktail snacks in my face as the introductions to the reception started because it looked so good, I couldn't help myself! There were zero regrets! This company was so great to work with, even with absolute last-minute changes on our side. Their staff was just as incredible! Professional, fun, and attentive! Lone Cedar

The Lone Cedar experience is one of a kind. They made the planning easy and they are always one step ahead of you. Their employee Immanuel is exceptional in every way and has every little detail down pat no matter what idea you have thought of for your wedding. Nothing can stop him from trying to make your day a special one, not even being a guest. He will work between mingling and clean up while eating a cupcake I highly recommend him as a guest and Lone Cedar as a vendor for any occasion.

Top Notch Experience!!!

Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe catered my daughter’s wedding and I cannot say enough good things about them! Although many caterers have a minimum headcount, Basnight’s was happily willing to work with our small group (13 people). The entire process from beginning to end was an absolute pleasure. The food was amazing, and our catering team—Patsy, Ron and Julianna—were ultra professional,, yet so warm and helpful. They treated our little gathering like a royal wedding! Immanuel and Caroline will prepare you for everything down to the last detail, which is great when you are planning from out of state. I would not hesitate to recommend them for a special occasion of any kind. They helped make my daughter’s dream of the perfect little wedding come true!

We loved working with this catering company for the 4x4 area! Yes it is an additional fee to travel to that area of beach, but every vendor is to get out there and for good reason!

Wedding Brunch at Basnights Lone Cedar Care

My family just had (August 2023) a really lovely Brunch Wedding Reception at the Lone Cedar Cafe's Sound side Garden Patio. It was the perfect venue for Brunch with a beautiful garden and view of the sound. The weather was perfect and we loved that the setting was so private and intimate. The food was excellent. Especially loved the Seafood Crepes. The Staff was wonderful, very accommodating to our group and just really nice people. We had the Wedding on the beach but we could see how this venue would make a very special place for a wedding. It's definitely a great place to take pictures. The catering staff were wonderful and love that they was so flexible. Can't say enough good things about our experience. Given a chance, we would do it all over again

Amazing experience!

We chose to have our daughter’s wedding based purely on reviews and recommendations from locals. Never ate there before. Never even went to the location before! Wow, did we make a great choice! Immanuel and everyone we worked with from the billing folks to the servers on the day of the event were fantastic. They had endless patience, great suggestions, were very responsive and bent over backwards to make the day special. I can’t say enough about the food! Having been to many weddings, I can say that this food ranks right up at the top. The portions were much larger than I imagined, everything was well prepared, well presented and it came out warm which is amazing for an event like a wedding. The setting couldn’t have been better. The day was rainy up until ceremony time and, once it cleared, the photos we took were fantastic with the water as a backdrop. Super nice to have the dock for photos too. The reception was under the covered patio which was perfect.

The Food & Service was delicious!

Working with Immanuel and the caterers at Basnight's was incredibly easy. The reception buffet selections were scrumptous--- guests couldn't speak more highly of the food. The servers were friendly and went above and beyond when passing appetizers during the cocktail hour to make sure even those getting pictures were able to enjoy the appetizers. Leftovers were boxed up and presented to us with the sweetest notes and well wishes written on the them. I highly recommend Basnight's Lone Cedar for your big day!

Everyone said the food was the best wedding food they have had in a long time. I was so so happy with how it came out. They also served my husband and I which was so nice too. They even saved some apps for us for when we got back from pictures.

Amazing Service

Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to an unexpected medical bill with our dogs, but the planning and communication process was amazing with everyone! They were all so nice and extremely responsive and helpful with all my questions and food choices. Our tasting was excellent! We cannot wait to go back to dine with them again!! :)

Perfect in every way!!

From the moment we inquired, to the time we finalized details, everything was smooth as silk. The food was delicious and the service was professional, yet personal and friendly. We chose a variety of options and the staff even made recommendations on some changes based on our needs and they were spot on with those recommendations. An awesome dining experience!

I brought a group of Marines to Nags Head and ate dinner at Lone Cedar. They serve the highest quality and extremely delicious seafood and other items for non-seafood eaters. The service, attention to detail, and hospitality was superb as well. I highly recommend Lone Cedar for your dining pleasure. Incredible people, with incredible food in a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere on the water in Nags Head. Thanks for a great dinner and night!

Why look at any other caterer?

I decided to go with Basnights after hearing amazing things from fellow brides and strangers and trying their food at Wedding Fest. They were a delight to work with. They were responsive, flexible and accommodating. The food was amazing at our wedding. We did passed appetizers of deviled eggs, crab dip and teriyaki meatballs. For dinner we chose roast, caprese stuffed chicken, roasted veggies and GOUDA mac and cheese. They were accommodating with dietary restrictions (Vegetarians and GF). They packed up all the food for us to take home and cleaned up after themselves. We also hired a bartender from Basnights as well. ALL my guests RAVED about our bartender. She was so sweet and friendly. All around an amazing experience and I would recommend them HANDS DOWN! What a great restaurant and catering team!!!

The best!!

We got married on 9/23/2022 and lone cedar catered. They did an amazing job and everything they served was so tasty! They arrived on time and answered every single question we had for them leading up to the wedding. The staff was very kind, professional and attentive. The dessert and buffet display looked great! We also hired two of their bartenders who were terrific! They were fun but professional. The staff also did a great job clearing the tables and keeping things neat and clean throughout the night. At the end of the night they wrapped up all the left overs for us and put everything away. Thank you so much!

Lone Star Cedar Wedding Catering Review-Nags Head NC

My wife and I used Lone Cedar for our wedding at Haven on The Banks. There were 3 or 4 vendors we were choosing between, until we met Immanuel. He was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and professional. He walked us through the planning process, and made it very easy for us.

Once we decided on the menu we went in for a taste test, THE BEST PART!! He was so much fun to talk to, the food was incredible, and everything we tried was great. He helped us narrow down the options to fit our guest, while letting us try different options. He just kept bringing us anything we wanted to try, we had so many leftovers.

On our wedding day the staff really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Their attention to detail was over the top! We had 4 or 5 people who had dietary restrictions along with 10 kids that were served exactly what we had requested, without any mixups. In the morning we were surprised to wake up and find all of the leftover food packed away nice and neat in the fridge, it kinda felt like Christmas morning!!!

In planning our wedding my wife had a 100 other decisions to make so we decided choosing the food vendor and menu would be up to me. I can’t say enough good things about the simple process, food, staff and service at Lone Cedar. I’m sure all of the vendors down in the Outer Banks are good, but in my opinion there is only one choice for your special day. You will be blown away at the quality, service, and value that Lone Cedar provides, while being pleasantly surprised that you won’t have to break the bank for such an enjoyable experience. I would 100% use them again, and will highly recommend them to all my friends and family moving forward.

The Lone Cedar Team Hustles!

As soon as my fiancé and I were engaged, we knew we wanted Lone Cedar to cater our wedding. We’ve been to a lot of local weddings and they excel with service, taste, and professionalism every single time!

Their staff was friendly, organized, and very polite to all of our guests. They made sure that our tables were neat and clean throughout the entire reception as well. All of the food was devine! My husband LOVES their tomato bruschetta, it was also a crowd fav. And the fried soft shells with the aioli… to die for! Everyone loved them.

I was so happy we had their bartenders all night long. They kept the guests hydrated and dancing the night away!

Thank you Lone Cedar team for always providing the best food and service on the beach!

Amazing!!!

First I'd like to mention we are so thankful for everyone's hard work that day. We are forever grateful. The delicious food that was made for our September 5, 2022 wedding was perfection. Our guests loved the food!! The bacon wrapped scallops were the best scallops we ever had! And the Strawberry vinaigrette dressing was spectacular!! I can't lie, I wish we lived closer so we could keep returning. I cannot wait to visit the restaurant on our next trip!! The best!! Highly recommended!!

Amazing all around!

Lone Cedar catering for our wedding was recommended to us by our venue on Ocracoke, The Berkley Manor. The Lone Cedar team was amazing all around, and the food wonderful; in particular, working with Immanuel towards the end of the planning process was so wonderful. He was very responsive and organized, as well as personable, easy to talk to, and invested in creating an amazing catering experience on our Big Day. They were sincerely excited to travel to Ocracoke Island to be a part of our team of vendors. The Whole Team was fantastic, and the food delicious; our guests were very happy. Everyone LOVED the food, and in particular, the Penne Alla Rosa, so much so, that the leftovers were enjoyed the day after by all. I highly recommend Lone Cedar for wedding catering, and working with Immanuel in particular. Thank you for a wonderful event and being part of our wedding celebration. Wonderful experience!

We chose Bassnight's Lone Cedar Cafe to cater our wedding at the home we rented on the Outer Banks and I can't say enough about how happy we were! Their food was delicious, their service was impeccable, and the team was so attentive - we received tons of compliments! They arrived just when they said they would, and they cooked everything fresh at our home. They prepared both appetizers for the cocktail hour and the main meal, and everything was so delicious! We all enjoyed the leftovers in the days following the wedding. Everything went seamlessly, and the staff were all so attentive to both our guests and my husband and I as we were flitting around taking pictures during the cocktail hour. They ensured we had hot, fresh appetizers wherever we were! Such a wonderful team - I would highly recommend them for your event!!

Great food and amazing service!

We loved our wedding meal, it was extremely delicious and everyone was complimenting the food all night! Having been unable to try the food beforehand (we live across the country) we chose Basnights through reading Wedding Wire and Yelp reviews and then just crossed our fingers. We felt so lucky that all the food was delicious. They helped us with a few of the rentals and made the process easy on us. However, the staff that attended our wedding was AMAZING! They checked in with us, were super sweet, were on top of every part of the night be it meal to cleanup. We loved them and would highly recommend!

I have never worked with a vendor as wonderful as Lone Cedar. They are very easy to work with as they are prompt, responsive and accommodating. The food is second to none and their service is impeccable. Our guests that have enjoyed the food provided by Lone Cedar have never had a complaint and have always stated how wonderful the food tastes and the presentation is fantastic. Fantastic Beginning to the Wedding Celebration

We used Lone Cedar Cafe to host the rehearsal dinner for our son's and new daughter's wedding. The dinner was held on site using the Garden Patio. The location was beautiful and the food was delicious!! We heard so many positive comments from the guests. The event staff made coordinating the arrangements so easy from 3 1/2 hours away. It was such a beautiful night and a fantastic beginning to the wedding celebrations!!!

Many compliments to the bartenders!

We used Basnight's catering at our wedding in September 2021. They catered the cocktail hour and reception, as well as bartending throughout the reception. The food was amazing, especially the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops during the cocktail hour. We also received many compliments from our guests about the professionalism and quality of the bartenders. The servers were also very attentive to the bride and myself throughout the dinner, making sure we had food and drinks at all times. All this, plus a reasonable price point, means I would definitely recommend Basnight's to anyone in search of a caterer in the Outer Banks.

EVERYTHING was excellent!!

Honestly we did not go into this wedding expecting amazing food, we were more focused on the party. However, Victoria and her team created the perfect experience and EVERYONE raved about the food! Best caterer for OBX wedding!

From the minute we met Victoria and her team at the 2020 OBX Bridal Expo, we knew Basnight’s Lone Cedar would cater my daughter’s wedding. This was a destination wedding held at the Atlantis beach house last month and Victoria helped us every step of the way. We chose a customized menu that included an oyster bar and chilled shrimp cocktail displayed in a small row boat filled with ice! So clever! Our appetizers included prime rib sliders, classic tomato bruschetta, bacon wrapped scallops and a charcuterie display (all delicious). Buffet dinner included a classic tossed green salad (they grow the greens in their garden - can’t get much fresher than that!), caprese stuffed chicken, local fresh white fish with homemade fruit salsa, roasted red potatoes, roasted green beans and their delicious homemade corn bread. We were able to make it down in April for a tasting that was held at the restaurant. It was a wonderful experience and helped us make final decisions. Victoria was on top of everything leading up to the wedding and always quick to respond to any questions or changes we had. Her crew of servers were professional and friendly and left our place spotless. We would not hesitate to book Lone Cedar again!!

Fabulous from Start to Finish

I can’t stress enough how wonderful the Lone Cedar staff are; from the coordinators to the bartenders. These folks are all top notch. And let me just tell you about the food…. Absolutely delicious! Everyone at the wedding was so happy with bellies full of crab dip. pork skewers, chicken & waffles, shrimp n’ grits. beef, chicken, and smoked gouda mac & cheese! The rehearsal dinner was equally excellent and service was great! Don’t think twice, just book Lone Cedar!

Excellent experience couldn't ask for more!

Bassnight's Lone Cedar Café went above and beyond. Working with Victoria, the Catering Manager, was a wonderful experience. We had to make a few adjustments after postponing our wedding a year because of Covid and she was extremely supportive throughout our crazy planning process and took a huge amount of stress off of my husband and I. She jumped through hurdles to make sure everything was perfect for us. This catering team was ON TOP OF IT. Even with the multiple different plated meal options that we offered to our guests they made sure to keep on schedule, provided top notch service, and has everyone still raving about the food weeks later. Since our wedding, two of my friends who are getting married next year decided to book with them because of how great they were. I am confident in recommending Lone Cedar to anyone as an excellent choice for their wedding caterer. They will not disappoint.

Phenomenal!

This was a second marriage for us both and we just wanted something small and laid back. I contacted Basnight’s and their event coordinator was extremely responsive and full of suggestions to fit whatever a bride’s needs may be. After deciding that we just wanted to make a large group reservation instead of booking a room and doing a full-scale catered event, their coordinator continued to assist me, stayed in touch and ensured our evening was perfect. We were even able to drop off our cake the day of the wedding. Their wait staff was OUTSTANDING and the food was PHENOMENAL! There was an option for everyone. Food came out quickly and was priced extremely well.

Best Caterer on the Beach!

There’s a reason Basnights is the top wedding caterer on the island. Victoria made the entire process so easy! She worked with me through my COVID wedding postponement and reschedule/venue change. She answered my many questions and provided some great advice along the way. The staff were all so kind and helpful during the wedding. The food, of course, was fantastic! Almost everyone I talk to from the wedding- their comments always include how delicious the seared tuna and bang bang shrimp was. Basnights made sure to pack my husband and I a food box to go to the hotel with us so we had some food to eat once the night ended. I will recommend Basnights to every couple looking for a caterer!

Amazing Catering Team!

We found Basnights through the Knot while searching for caterers for our 2021 Outer Banks wedding. Throughout the process of planning our wedding, Maggie and Victoria were tremendous to work with. Despite this being a destination wedding for us, a planned trip to the Outer Banks in 2020 allowed us to do a tasting at their beautiful restaurant. Everything we tasted was magnificent and doing the tasting was truly helpful in finalizing the menu for our big day. For our cocktail hour we decided on the following Hors d’oeuvres: Shrimp and Grits cups, Chicken and Waffles, and Bacon and Eggs (Deviled eggs with a candied bacon jam). We were going for a Southern theme with the cocktail hour menu and all of these choices ended up being true crowd pleasers. For the event we went with a more traditional wedding menu: herb roasted chicken, steak tips, pasta primavera, roasted red potatoes, green beans and rice pilaf. Overall, we and all our guests were very satisfied with the menu and we were happy to be eating leftovers all week! The staff in attendance for the event was also truly wonderful. We also used Basnights for our bartenders and they did a magnificent job of keeping the drinks flowing all night! The catering staff was very attentive and did a wonderful job of keeping the reception area very clean for us. We’d highly recommend Basnights for anyone planning an Outer Banks wedding and we definitely plan on stopping in to The Lone Cedar Cafe on future OBX trips!

I am blown away at how amazing Lone Cedar was for our big day. They were so helpful and responsive leading up to the wedding and planning during a pandemic. It was stressful at times, but they were always so quick to respond and make it stress free. SO many people complimented the food and how amazing it as. Not only that, the service was way beyond any expectations and they truly go above and beyond. The staff was something that my guests are still talking about. They made my day so amazing and I could not have done it without them. I worked with Victoria and she as always responsive and helpful with any changes I wanted to make during the planning. They boxed everything up for us that was leftover and made us a special late night food box. The bartenders remembered everyone's drink orders throughout the night to the point there was never a line to get one. They were amazing. YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY with this choice!!!

I knew the night we got engaged that would be using lone cedar, there is no one better on this beach. They went above & beyond of all of our expectations & our food was out of this world because of them. So if your even thinking about using them just do it because you won’t be disappointed!

All Around Great Food and Service!

Where do I start?! We were so happy with our choice to have Basnight's Lone Cedar be our wedding caterer. Living out of town we booked them on a recommendation from our wedding coordinator and they did not disappoint! They had us for a wonderful tasting prior to our wedding and after we booked, Maggie and Victoria made sure everything was exactly what we wanted. They had so many options! They worked with us on pricing and helped us create a menu that was well-rounded and made sense. When COVID hit they were so flexible and helped us move our date with no issues. The day of the wedding went very smoothly thanks to their catering staff. I almost didn't even know they were there - they were so efficient and non-intrusive. We got married at an event rental home so we needed bartenders as well. The bartenders they supplied were AMAZING and kept up with our wild guests! All of our guests raved about the food and my husband and I were so pleased. We loved Basnight’s so much we went to their restaurant to eat a few times. Book them, you won’t regret it!

Greta food and service

We hired lone cedar for our wedding a month ago. Our planner had recommended them to us and we got to meet them at the OBX wedding show in early 2020. After reviewing their menu + pricing we booked them and were able to go to a tasting. I worked with Victoria and she was incredibly helpful via email and at our tasting. They gave us good we had requested and a few extras. She worked with su to create our perfect menu and we were so excited. Their catering team was among and incredibly kind. They had a server bring out appetizers while we were taking out family photos which was SO HELPFUL as we were all starving at this point and once we joined the cocktail hour their staff was very attentive. We got SO MANY compliments on their fried asian shrimp (highly recommend) as well as the dinner. Their bartender did an amazing job on our cocktails and overall service was great! Victoria was very responsive and even helped me provide a creme brulee for my husband as a surprise since it is his favorite.

Best Caterer in OBX

Basnights was by far my favorite vendor to work with when planning our wedding. We were originally scheduled for May 2020 but had to reschedule due to COVID. Basnights was flexible, understanding, considerate and more. Rescheduling with Maggie and Victoria was as easy as it could have been. We had multiple menu changes, they catered to a gluten-free groom! and were constantly updating our guest count as states begun to reopen and protocols changed. On top of all of this, the food was AMAZING. They also helped supply our 2 amazingly fun bartenders, and with some rentals (cups, plates, utensils, etc) If you plan on getting married at The Black Stallion - they were VERY knowledgeable about the house/setup.

Basnights Lone Cedar was so awesome! The staff that catered our wedding were super friendly and helpful. The food was great, guests were still saying how good the food was the next day. Breath of Fresh Air During These Difficult Times

Everyone at Basnight’s was extremely wonderful to work with every step of the way. We planned a completely customized menu and everything was delicious! I was originally a Summer wedding but due to Covid had to reschedule twice. The ladies were so understanding and flexible with the changes of dates, guest counts etc. Without Basnight’s as my caterer I don’t think I would have made it through planning a wedding in these difficult times. Could not be happier with my choice and will recommend them to everyone I know!

If we coud give more than 5 stars we would! The catering for my son's Outer Banks Wedding was fantastic! Thorough, expert, friendly service from start to finish! And the food was delicious. We recommend them very highly and would use them again in a hearbeat!

Wedding Day Catering

Our wedding day would not have been the same without Lone Cedar! My husbands family is not from the south, so we wanted to make sure to give them a taste of what it's like - from the amazing appetizers (Shrimp & Grits, Sweet potato ham/cheese biscuits) to the NC Pulled Pork Barbecue all the way down to the fresh, homemade cornbread.... it was the perfect night! Let's not forget about the dessert bar! Key Lime Pie shooters and Hershey bar cupcakes made the night so sweet!! Our guests had never had such a delicious dinner, with the homestyle feel to it! We were so blessed to have Basnight's join our special day!

Basnight’s saved my wedding!

Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe saved my bacon! I was originally booked with a caterer in Kitty Hawk that I had been contracted with for quite a while. Only three weeks before my wedding day they called to tell me that they could only do a drop off, and could not do full-service due to COVID. It was obviously devastating to me considering I had everyone coming in from out of town. It was not a huge wedding, but it was still going to be a major inconvenience to just have food dropped off. I had a friend recommend Lone Cedar. On the first phone call I got in touch with Victoria, she checked her calendar and told me she could do it. Within just a few hours she had sent me over a quote that came in CHEAPER than what I was already paying! She had a contract out to me and I was booked with them in less than a day. On the day of it was absolutely perfect. All the food was hot and delicious, not to mention they make cute little signs, AND made a box for both me and my new husband. Did I mention that they had someone hand write bride and groom on the to go boxes with a cute note?! The personal touches is meant so much to me, especially since I was a last minute booking. I wish I had been in touch with them when I originally booked. The whole experience was so easy and seamless, and every single person that I came into contact with could not have been nicer. Ladies I cannot thank you enough!

Exceptional food, amazing service and professional staff

My fiance and I attended the wedding expo in March 2020 and had the pleasure of meeting Victoria with Basnights Lone Cedar. She was so friendly, outgoing, and professional. We immediately felt at ease and very comfortable speaking with her about our wants and needs for our wedding. She listened to our wants and needs, taking careful notes and asked questions to clarify. She encouraged us to sample the food selections and we immediately signed on, knowing that we would be in good hands. We worked with Victoria throughout the year and she was very patient, answering all of our questions and addressing our concerns. Two weeks prior to our wedding, we had a final phone meeting, Victoria explained in great detail what we could expect from the catering team. On the day of the wedding, the team arrived on time and immediately went to work taking care of every detail. The team was so friendly and professional. My fiance and I would like to thank the team from Basnights Lone Cedar for their friendly and professional staff, amazing food, and exceptional bartenders and servers. This team is first rate and we highly recommend this team and this restaurant for any and all of your catering needs. Every detail was addressed and taken care of with efficiency and professionalism. My now husband and I are so GRATEFUL & THANK EACH AND EVERYONE of this team for making our wedding such an amazing and unforgettable event.

Fantastic Food

Loved the dish we choose! A filet and white fish with a rock top. Very elegant dish for a wedding reception! Everything was perfect! Had a chef prepare the food at the home we rented! Couldn’t wait to eat! Made getting ready for the wedding a little distracting with all the lovely smells! Wouldn’t gladly hire again to cater another event!

The very best wedding food

We used Lone Cedar Cafe Catering for our rehearsal and wedding reception. The food was absolutely incredible - so many people told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. We had a lot of fluctuations in our guest count due to COVID, and Lone Cedar worked with us to make sure we could package up and extra food as leftovers, which was great for the next day. The staff was wonderful to work with, and we had the most fun bartender from Lone Cedar!

BEST food EVER for our Wedding!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet and let my photos do the talking! Presentation = Perfection, Food = Everyone raved about! Top favorites from guest were the Sushi Station, Asian Shrimp, chicken & waffles and Scallop Potatoes. I mean, I feel bad even singling these out because literally everything tasted amazing! Thank you Basnight for being so wonderful thoughout the entire booking process and helping us with our decisions.

Food is not cheap, and if you have attended many weddings, its not many that have great tasting food. Guests and the Bride and Groom become disappointed...This was NOT the case for us! We hired Basnight for our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding. Here is a list of what we had: Prime Rib Station, Sushi Station, Apps: Asian Shrimp, Pimento cheese cucumbers, Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles, baked parmesan chicken, jumbo lump crab cakes, scalloped potatoes and green beans.

Rehearsal Dinner

I live in Italy and I was afraid coordinating the rehearsal dinner would be hard. Victoria, Maggie and Caroline were very understanding and we were able to do everything via email. It was fantastic-the room, food and service were phenomenal. I highly recommend Lone Stare Catering! Our night was perfect.

Outstanding

Basnight's was such a wonderful place to host our holiday event. Food came out on time, was fresh, and of course delicious. The room set up was outstanding and so decorative to fit all my needs. The servers were all smiling and seemed very happy to take care of us all. Highly recommend and we will be back again next year for sure!!

Excellent everything!

Communication, service and food are excellent! Lone cedar is our go to for any type of gathering. This year we used their private chef service for a Christmas party! We plan to every year now because it was that GOOD and so stress free! Chef Ron did an amazing job and Jeff is always our requested server when dining at the restaurant. You won’t be disappointed when choosing lone cedar!

Best Day Ever

Basnight’s catered my wedding this fall and I could not be more thrilled with their services! Victoria and Maggie worked with me every step of the way creating the perfect menu, and putting me at ease anytime I had questions. The day of my wedding was seamless! I rented all of my China from them, they showed up, quietly moved in and had everything ready to go by the time we got back from our ceremony. The food was absolutely amazing, and for someone who planned their wedding from across the country, you can imagine my delight as I had never had a chance to eat with them before. I cannot stress how happy I am with my choice. These ladies truly are the absolute best!

Best Caterer's Ever

So easy to work with from afar

We live in NJ and we’re planning our wedding for OBX. They made it so easy to set up our catering without being able to be there, and especially taste anything. They were extremely responsive and helpful with any questions I had, which was a good amount. It was easy to pick up at their location and to keep warm at our location. The food was fantastic. Delicious Southern Wedding Food!!

We had an amazing experience with Basnights! They were absolutely professional, detail oriented and flexible to our Southern based food requests!! We had our reception at the Black Stallion and they were SO organized and helped us decide where would be the best locations for cocktail hour, the bars and reception. At our cocktail hour we had mini chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, mac n' cheese bites, steak kabobs, and scallops on a grit cake with bacon jam. Our guests raved about all of the food from the cocktail hour to the reception buffet. I highly recommend booking them!! Best wedding food in the OBX!!

Wedding dinner

We had our wedding dinner at Basnight's in August. This was a second wedding for both my husband and I so we wanted something small and intimate yet special for our day. We had about 35 guests and used the back room for a private gathering. The entire staff was helpful, polite, and worked very hard to make our evening a huge success. The view was amazing and the food even better! I can't recommend this venue high enough. I had a few special requests and all were met and exceeded. Our guests are still raving about the food. They let us come in early that day and decorate the room. I had my own idea of how the room should be set up which differed from their suggestion and they went with my idea without hesitation or question. This place is local, supports the local fisherman and you can tell in the taste of the seafood. We would choose Basnight's every time for our catering needs.
