Great bartenders! Highly recommend

I used Grace and her team for my bartenders at my wedding. Leading up to, Grace was very easy to get ahold of, quick to respond and easy to work with! She was flexible, thoughtful and thorough. Would recommend to anyone looking for a bartender for their wedding/event!

Understanding is an understatement.

Barn Door Events was so awesome to work with, extremely fast to get back to me, and talk about understanding... I had to cancel my wedding due to COVID and without any hesitation they were willing and happy to give me a FULL REFUND, with also expressing their condolences to my cancelation. I would recommend them to anyone going forward and will be.

Wonderful Day-of-Coordinator Service!!

We decided to do most of the wedding planning ourselves, but we wanted to hire a day of coordinator to take responsibilities and stress off of the entire bridal party and family members. Grace provided excellent service to fit our needs! She has amazing advice, do’s & don’ts, and tips & tricks to get the most out of your money. We created the timeline together, she attended the rehearsal to conduct the run through, and was there from start to finish of the wedding. Her role was vital the day of my wedding and I couldn’t be more thankful for everything she did for us throughout the process. The day ran on time and according to the timeline, she was great at making sure everyone knew where to be and what was next. Would recommend Barn Door Events PNW!

Grace and her team of bartenders were great to work with!

Overall, I was really happy with their services provided and felt like our needs were met! Grace was great to work with and was relatively easy to get ahold of. I really like cider and when our keg of cider was almost out, they saved me two more glasses which I think was extremely thoughtful!! Loved that. To the best of my knowledge when I looked over at the bar I wasn’t seeing a huge line up which was something we were worried about. They handled it well and did a great job!

My wife chose Grace for our wedding in Sept 2021. We should have listened to other reviews that talked about poor service and poor attitude... Leading up to the event, communication was a struggle - she never replied in a timely way (except for when she wanted her payments!). For the event, Grace did not have the number of staff we were promised in our contract; she herself (who was one of only 3 staff when 5 were stipulated) left 2 hours into the event without telling either of us; she did not set up the bridal suite at all, leaving my wife and her bridesmaids to set it up; she did not put out drinks and food for happy hour until 45 minutes into the hour; they supplied one bag of ice for an event with 60+ guests; they did not transport items to and from the venue the way they promised (we were left transporting most of the things needed!); they did not clean up the venue as required (costing me over $200 in cleaning charges); and she did not return the keys to the venue in a timely manner (costing me more $). When we tried to address all this with her after the event, and requested a reasonable refund for services not provided, she told us she wasn't doing any of that, and we should just take her to court! She even accused my wife of being drunk as some sort of half-assed reason on why she (Grace) didn't fulfill the contract (which BTW, my wife was not drunk but even if she was - it's her freakin' wedding day! She can get drunk if she wants!) As my wife has said repeatedly, while Grace didn't ruin her day, she certainly took away from the joy and fun. This is NOT what you want on your wedding day. I would STRONGLY urge you to find someone, anyone, else if you are looking for a wedding planner.

Poor Service

I hired this company for day of coordination services only. I do nearly all the work, and only needed someone to take of care the small details the day of. The month leading up to our wedding, Grace was MIA, would not return emails, despite repeatedly reaching out. Finally, two weeks before our wedding, I got an apology email, stating that she had “let her personal life affect her job” and that I could hit someone else if I wanted to. I was shocked, and in no position to do so just 14 days until the event. Her leadership and social skills are lacking, she did not communicate well with myself and our party, she was condescending, and ignorantly and rudely suggested we “shut it down” when a family member of mine had a little disagreement with another family member (lots of drunk people lol). I would not recommend this company, or Grace the owner. In the end, my family members were still doing the very tasks I had a hired this person to do, and that stills bothers me to me core.

Did not complete job, did not refund, stopped responding

I hired Grace to decorate an event my company was sponsoring. I wish I would have seen some of these other comments. Do not hire her under any circumstances. Leading up to the event, communication was spotty and constantly late. Day of she tells me she did not have any of the decorations as she did not order them in time and they had not arrived. I should have been informed earlier so I could have had a back up but again, communication was unprofessional and inconsiderate. she did still show up but the quality of what she slapped together was so poor the event host was extremely upset. I had to pay an extra $700 for floral that she refused to cover. I was told I would be getting a PARTIAL refund. She gave me dates multiple times for refund and did not come through. She eventually stopped responding. She stated that she did not have the money to refund me. As she did not have any decor I'm wondering what she did with the thousands of dollars I paid her? it is also worth adding that she approached us for the gig as we posted it on an industry facebook group and then used the excuse that she was "in over her head on this job" (something she did not confess until she had already messed the event up). Reading the responses to some of her other negative comments on this page I can tell you she is lying. She insists she is not a scammer. she is 100% a scammer. Do not hire this company.

She admits she can't do her job yet takes people's money

This is a long read but it's worth it if you don't want to waste your money.

I hired Grace around the middle of March to do month of coordination for my wedding in June. Upon first talking she seemed well out together and I saw the reviews on wedding wire which weren't too bad. I saw some complaints about some problems but they seemed old and her overall rating was four stars so I decided to go with her. Especially since she offered low prices. Once I told her we wanted to go with her she asked for my fiance's contact information as well as some other stuff and she took that as permission to send the contract to only him. She didn't ask where she should send the contract nor did she ask if she could send it only to him so I don't know where she misunderstood. She did say that she sent it to him but we didn't notice it in his inbox (later we found it) and I paid her through square space without signing the contract. As soon as she was paid and we scheduled our first consultation, communication was almost completely dropped on her side.

I began to worry when I would send her messages and she would view them and not respond. This happened for two weeks leading up to our consultation. She responded to one of my questions about things she would ask so we could prepare for the consultation and said she would send me a list of questions but never did. And when I asked if she sent it she viewed my message and didn't respond. I had realized that we didn't sign a contract and started digging more in her reviews on other platforms and found that people had similar complaints of poor communication. I began to worry that we were being scammed.

On the day of our consult my fiance and I went to the cafe we had planned to meet at. We waited for almost 20 minutes after our set time before I messaged her and asked if she was coming. She replied saying that she has been sick and forgot which day it was. At this point I was livid and said we wanted a refund. I pointed out why (lack of communication and missing our meeting). She said this hasn't happened before and that she would refund us. She sent us a referral to "someone else who is much better than me". That's what really got me. Knowing that she's aware that she's not good at her job but still took our money and sold the idea that she would be a great coordinator.

It was Sunday and she said we would be refunded by Monday. I didn't see why she couldn't do it on Sunday, but I figured waiting one day wouldn't be that bad. Around 4pm on Monday I messaged her asking where the refund was. She messaged me and said that we will have to wait until Friday at 9am. She offered to pay some that day but when I asked that she did she never sent the money. And I asked multiple times. I asked why she said she would have it by Monday and she said (this is quoted directly) "I thought I would have it all today for you. Obviously I am having trouble with my business..." Again with the pity and the "obviously" really grinded my gears. Again, why take people's money if you know you're not able to do your job!

I asked for confirmation of her sending the contract since we still hadn't found it in my fiance's inbox. She said she would send us confirmation that we will receive a refund. We then got into an argument about how she sent it to my fiance's inbox (again. I never said to do that). I will admit that we did later find it so she did send it, but not once did she check to see that we signed it and we missed it because I was expecting it to be sent to the both of us and didn't see that she said that she only sent it to him. She admitted that she should've checked in to make sure we signed it and followed with saying that she was writing us a promissory note and setting up the refund with square space at the moment.

I got upset and said in summary that I wasn't going to argue anymore but asking for contact information is not the same as asking permission to send a contract somewhere (especially when she just flat out never asked). I said that we will need the request for the refund and the note by the end of the day. I said if we don't get our money back by Friday that we will be forced to go to the court. We didn't want to but the whole ordeal had put us in a tough spot and we weren't okay with the way she was conducting business. I followed with requesting that she doesn't message me unless it's pertaining to the things we asked for. She clapped back with "I’m not sure what you want me to add?
I’ve apologized for your inconvenience, laid out a plan to correct the problem, been humble, and am sending you verification. I’ve admitted not showing to your meeting was wrong and that you are owed a refund." And "You are right, I am wrong & I will get you your refund as discussed." I told her again to not message me unless it pertained to what I asked for and she sent me a thumbs up.

On Friday she asked for my cash app ID in case square space didn't work. I waited until 5pm and asked when it was coming. She said she was finishing a job and would have our money at 7pm. At 7:08 I asked her if I could get an update. At 7:42 I said this was getting ridiculous. Then I saw that she saw my message and didn't respond. Around 7:50 I sent a message asking if she was kidding me because I was just baffled at the lack of professionalism. She responded with saying that she was still working. I told her to stick to her word and that this was really pissing me off and she said she would get us our money and "please stop with the personal attacks." As if anything I'm saying isn't warranted. There were no personal attacks. Just pointing out how poorly she was doing her job. If they hurts her feelings then that's on her. It's not my fault she can't work. I told her to stop doing such a bad job and reiterated once again that she shouldn't be taking other people's money if she doesn't know what she's doing! She said when she gets off her shift she will send it to us and I told her if she didn't that she would be sued. She asked if I would accept Venmo but I couldn't because my account was frozen from when I tried sending the payment to her the first time. She then brought up how the other ways require a transfer fee. I said she needs to cover it because I need to get back all of the money I sent. She said she would.

She messaged me around 9:30 stating that she had sent us the refund request on square space and that this was a courtesy because we paid the invoice without a contract. She then followed with saying "If you feel it is necessary to review or post about this transaction or any interaction with Grace Erin or Barn Door Events, understand that any statement not 100% accurate will be construed as defamation and I am prepared to pursue that to the full extent of the law." This is copied from her message directly. Imagine having the balls to say that when you're the one in the wrong? She then requested that any further contact be over email.

I checked my email and there was no request from square space. I emailed her saying that I still hadn't received the request. I had in her own writing that we would have our refund BY FULL on Friday. I said if that doesn't happen we will take her to court. I told her how I'm within my rights to leave a review and that I have all the proof of any claims I make.

Please do not give this woman your business. I would hate to see other people go through this like we did. It's not right to take people's money when you know you can't fulfill your promise. And grace if you see this I hope you learn your lesson and stop conducting your business so unethically. I have the proof for all of my claims and have quoted her directly. Attempts to threaten and scare me into not leaving reviews is just disgusting. I'm not afraid because I know I'm in the right.

This couple did not sign their contract. No professional vendor performs services without a contract, and for this reason, and our inability to connect in a satisfactory manner, a full refund was issued through SquareSpace.

No service and no refund, would NOT recommend!

I would not recommend this vendor to anyone. I booked Barn Door Events for both wedding coordination and hay bale rentals. I repeatedly reached out to the vendor throughout the process and would either get no response, or they would tell me they would get back to me later (they never did). I then asked for a refund, never got one, and never received any of the services. I have tried several times to get my money back to no avail. It was an awful experience. 2 weeks before my wedding I had to scramble and had to pay even more money for extra seating and ended up not being able to book a coordinator due to the short time frame. The professionalism was terrible, the communication horrible, and I lost $1,000. We also signed an agreement before she even was legally a business (I did not know that at the time), and when I tried to take her to small claims, none of the addresses came up as valid to deliver. Do not give your money to this company!!
