Bar Harbor Catering Company is extraordinary! The food at our wedding was truly exceptional—our family and friends were raving for weeks afterward, and many said it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had (we agree!). The oyster bar, mini lobster rolls, potato pavé, and carrot cake were all crowd favorites. They also thoughtfully incorporated Blenheim Park cherry products from our venue into the menu, which made the day feel even more personal and memorable.
Mandy was such a joy to work with and put us completely at ease throughout the planning process. Kristen’s menu design was so creative, Nick mixed the best dirty martini of my life, Dan made the oyster shucking station such a unique and fun experience, and Kylie brought the whole day together with such grace and positive energy. The whole team went above and beyond, and we are so grateful for their talent, warmth, and professionalism. It was such a beautiful day—and the food was unforgettable! -

Bar Harbor Catering knocked it out of the park for our wedding reception. Food and beverage was a huge focus for us, and the crew from Bar Harbor Catering delivered 110%, dazzling us and all of our guests.
Heather worked closely with us in the months leading up to the event, and day of, Mandy, Freddie, and Nick created a comprehensive dining and bar experience that felt more like an incredible, intimate pop-up from your favorite new restaurant than a traditional, catered event. Their technical culinary and bartending skill was evident, and the service element was truly exceptional – combining gracious, friendly attitudes with timing and efficiency for a crowd is no easy feat, and their attention to detail made our evening unforgettable (and delicious).
This is a team of professionals capable of putting out incredible plates of food, keeping well-crafted drinks flowing, and creating a beautiful experience to compliment your celebration – highly recommended.

If you are looking for a caterer for your wedding or event- do not shop around and hire Bar Harbor Catering! Because of COVID-19 and a date change we had to hire a caterer 3 months before our wedding. We were also not able to have a tasting which made me so nervous, looking back I had no reason to be nervous. We hired Bar Harbor Catering for our rehearsal dinner, wedding day and farewell breakfast. EVERYTHING WAS SO AMAZING!!! We still have guests raving about how amazing the food was. I even had some guests ask me what each course was because they are trying to re-create it at home. It was also such a wonderful surprise when we sat down at our table for toasts and speech's that they are prepared a small plate of appetizers for me and my husband. This was totally unexpected but totally what I needed! Your food was amazing, your staff was amazing, and you guys are amazing! Thank you again for everything! Kendra and Pat -

A huge thank you to BHCC for the wonderful job they did for our daughter's wedding (10/2019). We worked with Heather (month of coordination) and she was so helpful! . The ceremony was at our family cottage and the reception at Hulls Cove School House. Heather coordinated the rentals and helped us with logistics, including figuring out the transportation. She calmly facilitated the rehearsal, ceremony and celebration. The food was outstanding and our friends and family raved about it...Service, from the bar to the family style service and clean up was exceptional. The attention to detail from everyone at BHCC was so appreciated! Our guests were so impressed! Highly recommend BHCC!! -

Rehearsal Lobster Bake, Reception Food & Drink, and Month of Planning
Heather and her team did an incredible job. Not only was the food excellent, as expected, but the bar service was fantastic. We were particularly blown away by the presentation of the bar, dessert table, appetizers, table settings, etc. There we so many great details that make it clear that the team takes a lot of pride in their work! If you share your vision with Heather, she will make it happen! From a planning perspective, Heather was a huge value add as well. She calmly solved minor problems as they came up, and did a GREAT job of managing the itinerary and general flow of the party. We had a truly perfect weekend, and are SO glad we worked with the BHCC team. -

Bar Harbor Catering was a dream to work with for our wedding. From initial contact, to tasting, to day of services they were extremely professional and supportive.
We used BHC for the wedding catering and ‘month of’ coordinator. Both were excellent in helping us get the wedding that we were hoping for. For reference we were a relatively small wedding at ~60 guests.
Catering: BHC helped us craft an entirely vegan wedding day menu. This included table snacks, grazing menu, and entrees. All were excellent and we’ve had many compliments to the food. The food was one of our biggest concerns and they executed flawlessly. For drinks we went with beer wine + a signature cocktail which were also served without issue.
Note: They were able to accommodate several additional dietary restrictions without issue and went out of their way to identify and take care of these guests.
Planning: Heather assisted with our planning and she has clearly built relationships in the community as she was able to liaise with the flower and tent/table/chair vendors. Day of she was very attentive and made sure that we were able to focus on the ceremony and our families rather than the details of the day.
Overall, I can recommend BHC without reservation. They delivered beyond our expectations in every category. We’re very lucky to have found them.

We had a unique situation where another catering company we had lined up fell through a month before our wedding date. Stressful to say the least. Thankfully, Mandy and her team from Bar Harbor Catering Company were still available, and they more than delivered, helping us create the type of menu we wanted, and even threw in some thoughtful surprise touches. They clearly aim to please, and they did. The food was flavorful, sophisticated, and cooked to perfection. They elevated seemingly simple sounding dishes to a fine dining experience. The service was outstanding, too -- the servers Mandy hires are all professional and they did a really outstanding job and helped facilitate the flow of our reception, allowing us and our guests to enjoy the evening. Our guests were raving about several of the dishes, and wanted recipes (particularly the carrots!). We are actually grateful our first caterer fell through, so we could have Bar Harbor Catering Co. instead! -
Allison Sent on 09/02/2018We wanted a no-fuss, family-style dinner for our wedding (130 guests) that didn't leave out the vegetarians and left no one hungry-- and Bar Harbor Catering was absolutely perfect. From the cocktails and appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious (their whoopie pie is seriously the best I've ever had!). We worked with Jennifer, and she was so responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. Their professionalism and attention to detail is extraordinary-- we can't recommend them highly enough!

The food was absolutely incredible - our guests unanimously said it was the best wedding food they ever had. We used them for both our wedding and our welcome reception, and they provided bartending services and our wedding cake as well. Mandy was so professional, helpful, and just generally awesome - a true pleasure to work with. I highly recommend the chicken "under a brick" as an entree, it was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time!! Mandy made sure my husband and I had a full selection of all the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres we missed while taking pictures, and they packaged up a new entree for each of us to take home when the night was over (which we promptly inhaled the next morning for breakfast). We decided against the lobster pot pies for the cocktail hour due to the cost, despite it being my husband's favorite choice from our tasting, so Mandy prepared an individual one just for him at the wedding, complete with a puff pastry "L" on top (our last initial). They also worked with us on signature drinks, which turned out great.
Even if you don't hire them for your wedding (which you definitely should!), it's worth the trip to attend one of their tastings in Bar Harbor - everything we tried was amazing, and we had a great time.

Jenna Sent on 09/24/2014If I could give Mandy and her team a 6 I would! From planning through execution, the food, service, and design were amazing! Mandy worked with us to find the perfect menu to fit our wants and budget. The guests at our wedding raved about the food.
The stationary antipasto station was beautiful. We also had mini grilled cheese in tomato soup shooters (the presentation on these was so cute in a mini martini glass), chicken satay with really good peanut sauce and brie and maple puff pastry, all of which were delivered to my groom and I while we waited to be announced. For dinner we had butternut squash risotto, chicken "under a brick" which was so juicy and delicious, Asian braised pulled pork with Asian slaw and chilled green beans with a mustard dill vinaigrette. For dessert we wanted to do something fun so we opted for a "make you own" s'more station (they bake their own gram crackers and make their own marshmallows! we also got some amazing rosemary budino tart-lets and my favorite, Italian Zeppoli!
Each detail was gorgeous. Attention to detail, both in matching their presentation with my decor and in the impeccable service was unmatched by any wedding I've ever been to. To be honest I didn't even notice the staff. They were so professional; plates seemed to clear themselves. I HIGHLY recommend Bar Harbor Catering Company to anyone who loves good food and expects good service. You won't be disappointed!
