We booked our Friday Night Welcome Dinner at Bahia Mar and worked with Michelle. The venue was awesome and looked perfect for our Friday night dinner . Michelle was so helpful along the way and was responsive, thoughtful and knowledgeable for all questions. Guests loved the venue and the food. We had our dinner in the Bahia Gardens and it had a perfect tropical vibe! Woukd definetely reccomend the place and working with Michelle . Everyone had a great time!

Absolutely the best! Michelle is awesome, and made sure everything ran smoothly. She is so much help and made us feel at ease on such a stressful day. Our ceremony was out by the intercoastal and it was so pretty. Highly recommend this place to get married!

Beautiful hotel and awesome staff!! We shortened our guest list from 180 to 50 due to COVID and Michelle was extremely helpful and understanding throughout the entire process. The wedding food was excellent and we received so many compliments. The outside garden is an absolute beautiful place for a ceremony and the ballrooms are gorgeous. We also rented the high tide lounge for an afterparty which was an absolute blast, the pool area was recently renovated which was very nice as well. We had an all around great experience and are so unbelievably happy with having our big day at Bahia Mar!!!

We held our daughter's wedding at Bahia Mar. Michelle Cannici and Alex (Banquet Captain) could have not been more accommodating. We also used the Bridal Suite the morning of the wedding, food was set out before our arrival time so it was great to have breakfast and mimosas at our fingers as soon as we walked in the room. The reception was extraordinary, we received many complements. We also held our brunch in the Harbor Lights room the next morning, that was equally phenomenal. Strongly recommend this facility for any special occasion.

We had an amazing experience from start to finish with the Bahia Mar. We booked the venue during the major renovations which were all completed by our wedding date. The lobby, pool area and rooms were upgraded and so nice! The new chic coffee shop opened shortly before our wedding and provided a cool spot for my husband and his groomsmen to have photos taken the day of the wedding. The pool area features a new bar with a pool table and a ping pong table and offers a laid back and/or fun vibe for your guests. There is a deli connected to the hotel that our guests loved as well for easy snacks or delicious boars head sandwiches and everything could be charged to their rooms. Now to the big day, we had our cocktail hour in the Grandview Ballroom and our reception in the Commodore Ballroom. Everything was perfect- the Grandview offers a beautiful ocean view - the late November date allowed perfect timing for the sun to be setting during the second half of the cocktail hour. The drink of the night and passed apps during the cocktail hour received rave reviews! Our guests loved the easy transition from the cocktail hour to the reception in the Commodore Ballroom. The Commodore was the perfect size for our wedding. Everyone loved the dinner and the night was amazing. Now to one of the main reasons why our wedding day was the BEST day of our lives- the Bahia Mar Staff. The customer service is top notch at the Bahia Mar. The valet and front desk greeted all our guests with smiles and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. We felt like royalty our entire stay. The servers and bartenders were all amazing as well. We have saved the best for last-Michelle Cannici. Michelle is the Catering and Event Coordinator for the Bahia Mar and we were told she would be our "day of wedding planner"- she was so much more than that and provided patience, excellence and professionalism while working with us. She is the best and will make the wedding of your dreams a reality.

From the moment we saw the venue and met Michelle we had an amazing experience. She was a delight to work with. The venue is beautiful and our pictures came out amazing because of the hidden back ceremony area they have. Our wedding process was so smooth all thanks to Michelle for understanding what we wanted and answering any and all of our questions/concerns. The day of our wedding was perfect. The staff was friendly and so accommodating. The food was delicious starting from the appetizers to the main course and the late night snacks. We could not have picked a better place for our special day. We would highly recommend Bahia Mar as a wedding venue !!!!! :)

The Bahia mar is awesome venue to get married! Beautiful scenery, fabulous staff, completed updates hotel. Michelle was excellent to work with- extremely easy to talk to and helpful in making your visions come true.

First of all, our wedding last Friday could not have been more perfect, from beginning to end. Michelle Cannici, the banquet manager/in-house coordinator helped us with every detail, big and small. She was so very professional and helped us to personalize our day exactly how we wanted. We had both the ceremony and reception in the dockside gardens on the Intracoastal Waterway, and the cocktail hour along the dock. The day was just perfect. The garden felt intimate and romantic and the wedding went on without a hitch! Everything was expertly coordinated and nothing fell between the cracks or was forgotten about. I would absolutely recommend Bahia Mar and Michelle to everyone I know!!!

The Bahia Mar was amazing. We booked our date with them pre rennovations which was slightly nerve racking but Michelle Cannici made sure we were aware of what the plan for rennovation was from beginning. Michelle was so helpful and responsive to every question we had throughout the process. The venue is beautiful and the staff was great!

Only good things to say. Michele was very professional, prompt and exceeded all expectations. She wa great to work with since We didn’t have a coordinator and very calm the day of the wedding. The venue allowed a great view of the beach and we received many compliments about the food which was delicious. Everyone was very helpful and our wedding day went smoothly.

I can honestly not say enough good things about our wedding, wedding planning experience, and Michelle Cannici at the Bahia Mar! First of all, Michelle (the catering manager) is absolutely amazing at her job! She was there every step of the way, available whenever I had even the tiniest question, and helped to alleviate much of the stress typically associated with planning a wedding.

Our entire wedding weekend was just perfect! Michelle reached out to all of my vendors the week of and they were all where they needed to be when they needed to be there on my big day! I brought in some of my own decor and Michelle and her team set it up beautifully for us. They totally nailed my vision. The ceremony/cocktail hour location along the intracoastal was just breathtaking. There were plenty of gorgeous backgrounds for photos everywhere we turned. The reception was upstairs in the Grandeview ballroom, which was recently renovated, and is just stunning. The large windows facing the ocean gave it such a pretty ambiance. Michelle made sure we stuck to our timeline and were happy every step of the way. Not to mention that the food was delicious and the servers were friendly! On top of it all, creating the room block was a breeze and everyone had smooth check in experiences. Definitely reserve the ocean front suite, you won't regret it!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Michelle and the entire staff at Bahia Mar. During the planning stages, Michelle was very responsive and helpful, putting my mind at ease with all the pre-wedding jitters. For the wedding itself, everything went off without a hitch! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Set up and clean up we’re taken care of. Guests couldn’t say enough about the venue and how gorgeous the renovations were. Our overall experience was excellent!

Bahia Mar is the perfect place for a wedding! We had our ceremony by the gardens and the reception in the grand view room. They have amazing views and the sunshine was on our side that day! Michelle Cannicci is the event coordinator and she is wonderful to work with! Our wedding would not have gone so perfectly if it wasn't for her! I live in NC and she was great with helping me from afar! The food was great, the staff are very nice and professional! We were well taken care of throughout our entire stay!

I was so happy with my experience at the Bahia Mar for my June 2017 wedding. I was on a short timeline (only 6 months to plan, was living in DC when I initially booked the venue, and was pretty much putting our wedding together myself, so I was very much flying blind. The Bahia Mar's wonderful wedding coordinator, Michelle, was so sweet and made the process a breeze. The value we got for our money was incredible. Impeccable service, delicious food and drink, and a wedding coordinator who made all of the moving pieces come together seamlessly. The location was fabulous (10 min from the airport, right on the gorgeous beach and Marina, and a short walk to restaurants, bars and nightlife) - our guests raved about it. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in the South Florida area - we had the best experience!

Everyone at Bahia Mar was amazing, not only to us, but our guests as well. Michelle Cannicci was our wedding coordinator and I can not say enough great things about her, she was outstanding! She made herself available and answered all of the, crazy or not, questions I had and really gave me comfort that everything would be perfect and it was!

We had little time to plan our wedding. We were engaged for Christmas and married by early February. Such a short period can be very stressful and hectic, but Michelle Cannici made sure the actual wedding was not part of that stress! I have to start by saying that the first thing that made my venue awesome was my event planner, Nancy Caputo! She replied to every email or phone call very quickly. She always looked for a way to do everything I envisioned for my reception. My venue was set up exactly to my specifications. The food was excellent. The bar tenders were wonderful. The staff took great care to return all my items (toasting glasses, signed canvas, cake cutting set) at the end of the night. I am SO pleased with choice we made to have our cocktail & reception at Bahia Mar!!! (My ceremony was at my church)

Also, Kristine Capezza in the reservations department was awesome as well! The hotel did a great job of handling all our out of town guests.

I'm sad to see that the Bahia Mar doesn't have more reviews on WeddingWire, but I am happy to be the first, and certainly won't stop raving about our experience. Our wedding at the Bahia Mar was everything I could have hoped it would be, and more. We had a destination wedding, which makes for a nervous bride and groom when you are unfamiliar with the area and planning things from afar. Trish Miracola and her team (Debra, Julia, etc.) really went above and beyond to make everything so very special and were equally as attentive to our many, detailed needs. We stumbled upon the Bahia Mar when we found it on Hotwire and stayed there on our first "scouting" trip to Ft. Lauderdale to hunt for venues. We were so impressed with the service, amenities, and beach location of the Bahia Mar, that we asked for an impromptu meeting with Trish...and the rest is history! We were sold instantly, and the price was absolutely the most reasonable of any of the Ft. Lauderdale venues had to offer for our party of 80 (and believe me, we met with 15+ hotels along the beach!). From the start, any questions we had, Trish was there to answer. The groom and I must have emailed her a 100 times throughout the process, and she was so helpful with everything. She got everyone at Hilton involved - from Sales, to catering, all to accomodate our wedding party smoothly. She is very experienced at what she does, and her experience shines through, as we saw on the days leading up to the wedding. She was very flexible with any last-minute changes, and kept a great "can-do" attitude throughout the whole process. We are all truly grateful for all of her hard work and that of her team and everyone at the Bahia Mar. They truly go above and beyond to take care of their guests. We've stayed in many Marriotts, Hiltons, Wyndhams, Westins, and Sheratons in > 12 nations worldwide, and I will say that the customer service at the Bahia Mar far exceeds many of the hotels where we have had the pleasure of staying. The Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale A Doubletree by Hilton was a fabulous place to have a wedding! They have a tropical garden located at the back on the intercoastal. This is where we had our ceremony and the cocktail hour afterwords. Then we moved our reception up to the ballroom and it was gorgeous! All the of the employees that were a part of this really got themselves involved and made sure that it was a special day for us! We need to give a HUGE thanks to Trish Miracola for making everything happen!!!

I had my wedding on the beach just across from the resort, and my reception in the room over the ocean. It was wonderful!! They have a sky walk from the hotel, near the reception room, to Fort Lauderdale beach, so it's very convenient. The reception room we chose (they have about 6 or 8 rooms to select from) was perfect for our 100 or so guests, with a sit down dinner and dance floor (I don't recall the name of the room, but as I said it is the one over the ocean). The view is amazing! The food was incredible, and the presentation was beautiful. The package we chose included a cocktail hour (there are several selections to choose from for this, I think you get five different selections, hand passed), cheese and fruit trays for 100- all of this in a separate room from the reception, a four-course sit down dinner (we chose of sea bass or prime rib for the main course, but they have several options), open top shelf bar for five hours, a gorgeous (delicious!) wedding cake, table linens, silver, and china, and a full wait staff and bartender for five hours. This was about $180 per person for the reception, and the whole package included a huge hospitality suite with a fully stocked bar and snacks from about six hours before the wedding until late the following afternoon, with a connecting king room and the honeymoon suite. They also gave us 20% off everyone's rooms since a lot of people were coming from out of town. I was extremely picky and a bridezilla from hell by the time we went for the final meeting the week before the wedding, but they were still so nice!! They even brought up two huge potted plants from the lobby to put in the reception room when I asked them to!! They were awesome, I think our coordinator's name was Stacy, but to my knowledge she's the only one there who does weddings. My only complaint is the bartender ran out of zinfandel, which is what I was drinking, but when he realized I was the one asking for it, he promptly ran to find me some! I wish I could do it all again! Out the door, I think it cost around $33,000 for everything they provided, which I found out is very reasonable for that area and the accommodations. They have packages ranging from around $10K and up, and try to talk ANYONE you deal with down in price! They WILL work with you! We probably saved $5,000 by asking for a little here and there. Michelle was great!!!!! From we met Michelle, she was very professional and coordinated everything for our wedding! The staff at the Bahia Mar treated us like royalty. There was one lady at the desk, she made our stay and wedding weekend exceptional! We could not have had such an amazing wedding if it wasn't for Michelle and her staff!

Michelle and the staff at Bahia Mar were wonderful! It was such a pleasure working with all of them through the process. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our day and it really was. We were very happy with everything! I also recommend using their preferred vendors everything from the cake, flowers, dj, and photography was great, it made it so much easier to plan everything. I highly recommend Bahia Mar!!

There were a few hiccups along the way. But all in all my wedding was beautiful. I had a vision of what I wanted and Bahia Mar delivered.

The Bahia Mar was awesome! We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the gorgeous courtyard/gardens area with breathtaking marina views and our reception in the Grandview room with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the beach! Our guests who stayed at the hotel were within walking distance to everything they could hope to experience during their Fort Lauderdale visit! Trish Miracola is awesome...she was extremely helpful and professional from beginning to end. The food was delicious and the staff was great! A special thanks to Trish, Jean-Marie, Ed, and Vanessa! Thanks for making our special day the best it could be! We would absolutely recommend this venue! Oh, and take a ride on the water taxi which you can hop on right near the hotel!

Bahia Mar is a lovely venue! It had the perfect mix of beach and modern vibes which was perfect for our reception. The hotel itself is very clean with a friendly staff and steps away from the beach. It is so affordable compared to other beachfront/oceanfront properties in the area. It is perfect for out of towners with the airport being less than 10 minutes away. Michelle Cannici (wedding coordinator) is super helpful and friendly. She is very knowledgeable in her work and always made my husband, my family and I feel welcomed whenever we stayed on property. We had some hiccups with the catering staff as far as servers but overall we enjoyed our reception.

The Garden area is a great area to have a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Trish and Dana are a great team and try to work with every need you may have. This resort is super busy and may not be as responsive as some would like. Also, there was a wedding held in the afternoon before my evening wedding that I had no idea of until a few days before, we had to adjust our time schedule dramatically. Make sure you ask alot of questions, this place won't tell unless you ask.

Great venue! Had a food tasting about 3 weeks before the event and it was great however, at the reception it was not wait we expected!

We loved the Bahia Mar's location as well as their space. It was perfect for what we were looking for. And for the time of year we got married they were able to offer us a fantastic price. However, while working with them, there were constant issues with the reservations department that started with problems with our room block all the way until guests were actually checking in to the hotel. It was extremely frustrating to deal with the same issues for an entire year. Additionally, they really do not provide any on site setup. My contact was repeatedly late for meetings and on the day, didn't even show up until an hour before I walked down the aisle. If I had trusted her to do setup nothing would have gotten done. I had a feeling that would happen so I hired a wedding planner to execute all the details on the day and thank goodness I did. Finally, the hotel is in need of a face lift. The central staircase which would be a beautiful focal point to the lobby has old, dingy carpet that really should be pulled up and not all the rooms are renovated.

We had a bit of difficulty with the hotel, as far as our guests go, but the venue was great as far as the actual wedding.

I had problems with the room block from the beginning. There were not enough rooms for my guests, i had to considently keep calling and adding more rooms. I also had to have them open the block up to the night before the weddingell. I did get this resolved but it was frustrating.
i was embrassed at my cocktail hour for the price i paid for head i would think they would re-fill the display trays at least once. No, once it was gone it was gone. There was not enough food for all my guests.
The food at dinner flew out at as so fast i could not finish my course before the next one arrived. The food was good with the exception of the dry fish. Other than that i had no food complaints, the chef actually did a good job. There was just not enough of at the cocktail hour.
I ordered the desert table, what a waste. 1st it was half a table not a whole table. The other half was coffee.
I loved the location in the gardens and the view in the reception room. This is why i choose this place.
For as many events as they throw they really need to get on the ball.

The Bahia Mar was one of the first venues I looked at when we started looking for reception locations and we kept coming back to it. I wanted a room that was indoors but looked over the ocean and they had a room perfect for that. Unfortunately, after we signed our contract I started to get nervous. The staff does not seem to communicate very well to us or to each other. I told the staff mmber in charge of our event all the details of the linens I wanted and colors and set up when we had our tasting but she e-mailed me a few weeks later to find out what I wanted again and did not remember any of the details.

Also, when we had our tasting (about 5 months before the wedding), they let us taste full meals (ie chicken with broccoli and rice and fish with squash and risotto). Then about two weeks before the wedding said although we had three entree choices (chicken, fish and pasta) we had to choose the same vegetable and starch to go with them all, which was not mentioned at all at our tasting.

One of the other major issues was the room block. We had all sorts of problems with this from people not being allowed to book more than one night (which we resolved) to rooms getting deleted, to guests being able to get a cheaper rate by booking outside the room block at the same hotel. It got quite ridiculous. On the day before the wedding, some quests had to wait four or five hours for their rooms to be cleaned. Also, at check out, many guests were overcharged. Even when I booked a room for my four bridesmaids, they did not tell me they booked a room with one bed until the week before the wedding. Then they suggested that three girls sleep in the one bed and one sleep on a roll away bed. I was most disappointed with the hotel for this.

I must say however, that all the guests did enjoy themselves despite all these bumps. When the day came, my husband and I just said whatever and just had to let it go. The food did taste really good and all the guests were raving to me about it. You just have to be vigilant with them and double check EVERYTHING!

Money, money, money. Nice staff, but plan on being nickeled and dimed to death. Also plan on spending a fortune to decorate the seminar type ballroom with sliding partitions.
