I knew from the first time I contacted her that she was going to be an incredibly important part of my day. She was so incredibly prompt in answering any and all of my questions and she provided me with 2 amazing artists for my big day. Feeling beautiful is important to every bride, and while her artists made me beautiful on the outside, Janet helped me feel beautiful on the inside. Thank you for your exceptional service! -

Dana Sent on 05/19/2014Janet was wonderful to work with both pre-contract and post. I was concerned about affording hair and makeup services given the budget I was on but still wanted to be able to pamper myself the day of the wedding. Janet walked me through everything, answered all of my questions, and all the while so was pleasant.
My artist was Briana. The trial was great. I sent in a bunch of pictures of what I looking at and she was able to create a version of that that complimented me. I do not wear much, if any, any makeup so I was concerned but she was so patient going through and trying different things until we got the look right. She took all kinds of notes from the trial and pictures. The day of the wedding she reviewed all of those notes and took all of that into consideration that my hair and makeup turned out even better than during the trial. She was amazing. In addition she did hair and makeup for my sister, which she loved, and hair for my mom which was great. -

I was particularly appreciative of their attentiveness and the level to which they made me feel prepared given I was an out-of-state bride, and despite the distance managed to flawlessly customize my look to fit my face/ hair type/ vision... I would highly recommend Janet and her team!!! -

Gina Sent on 08/31/2014I ended up being very happy with my hair and makeup. Janet, the owner, was so easy to contact and so very personable. At first, I wanted my hair down with curls, but my hair wouldn't hold the curls long. They kindly offered me a complimentary 2nd trial because I was unhappy with the first one (the makeup was too much for me, I don't wear a lot normally). At the 2nd trial, my artist Paula did such a great job listening to me and asking for my feedback so we could get it just right. On the wedding day, Paula knew exactly what to do and recreated the look exactly how I wanted it. I ended up doing a low side chignon and my hair looked stunning. I got so many compliments. Thank you for your lovely review. The original trial, we agree after your session, was incorrect based on style choices you wanted. Your artist always compares your style photo next to your results and showed comparatively we followed your desires (your artist opinion and mine too). However, we offered a second trial because after meeting you it was the wrong choice for yourself. We convinced you to go with an up-do since you know your hair is fine and does not hold curl for any length of time and you chose a much more subtle make-up look for yourself to make certain you would look gorgeous on wedding day! User1433803 Sent on 11/12/2013I am very pleased with Artistic Wedding. My hair and makeup trial was done at my house which was very convenient. The stylist was very patient with my indecisiveness and offered a number of good ideas to make my look perfect!
Janet accommodated us VERY well by giving us two artists for the day of the wedding so we were not so strapped for time. The artist were both very professional and great at what they did; our entire bridal party (including Mom and bride) looked amazing!
I rated it a 4.5 due to the fact that the planning for the bride could have been a little better. The hair was not set in advance and we didn't leave enough time to put the veil on at the end and was a bit rushed. This caused my veil to be a little unsturdy and the hair to fall towards the end of the night.
Otherwise I HIGHLY recommend this company as they treat you VERY well and take good care of your every need!Artistic Wedding Hair and Makeup Design's reply:
Oops...sorry you missed (3) opportunities! There are (3) chances to make changes as a bride. We check after every trial for any tweaks to note, your contract prep document asks you to note any changes and you approve the final schedule which offers a final chance to change your session time to allow prep so your hair could have been "set" in advance if you wished. For veil insertion, your trial prep document requests to have your veil ready so we can "rehearse" for the big day. User1671118 Sent on 06/20/2014The lady that did my bride hair and makeup was great, listened to my concerns and changes requested. The second artist used for day of wedding was phenomenal! My artist in particular did both airbrush for some and traditional on myself.
I would not recommend because of the coordination process. At the beginning it seemed great and hassle free. It was when airbrush was inquired about for those that wanted it vs traditional. I received multiple emails outlining the benefits & preference of traditional vs airbrush in attempt to forego my request to have it wedding day. It wasnt until I had to say I would go elsewhere that the coordinator finally agreed to it. do not offer it as an option on the website or packages IF it is not preferred or promoted. I felt I was given a lot of pushback when I should have been told okay the first time. I understand giving a quick opinion but if requested cooperate the first time. I don't appreciate being haggled with when they are
services I am paying for. The other thing that kind of turned me off what a change in artist 2 times via email and once in person. I was notified before my trial the original artist changed to another one and ended up having another artist show up who I was not told about. She was great but not who I had expected based on last communication. There was also a change in artist for the wedding day, which was fine because she was awesome.
I did not feel everything was very organized and that the coordinator seemed to be all over the place at times. I completely understand the volume and business level of this type of service but I delt with other vendors much more effective.
Overall, I was happy with how the ladies did but after this experience I can't say I'd pick the same vendor if I had to do it all over again. Not saying, obviously based on reviews, this is typical but this just happened to be my experience. Maybe I just have too high of expectations.

Let's share why this did not go as easily for YOU compared to hundreds of satisfied brides. Your last sentence of "Maybe I just have too high of expectations" is really one of you wanted to break our Terms and resulted in frustration for yourself. As Bride Erin, says it best, "Janet is very clear with what's expected from us as clients and what we will receive from her" posted 6-27-14 online.
1. Firstly, EVERYTHING in writing for proof of reference.
2. You ASKED our opinion of airbrush and we supplied you with pros and cons, you made the final decision.
3. In your file, on the form you completed, "Airbrush is not big deal to me". We clearly state as follows: "Please indicate airbrush only if ABSOLUTE as some artists do NOT airbrush". Your answer influenced our choice of artist assignment for you (NON AIRBRUSH ARTIST). Your wedding was a ONE artist assignment with services you wanted.
4. Right before the wedding your party girls wanted airbrush. You threatened (your words) to pull the wedding to get airbrush for your girls. We did ADD an AIRBRUSH artist although unwarranted (to make you happy) which created a breach of contract with your artist. Against policy.
3. Also, you wanted your very own artist at NO extra fee to you. Against written policy unless you pay for service.
4. You also ignored the time required for each session. Against written policy.
We just don't experience Brides who want to violate simple industry terms; hence our hundreds of 5 star Bride reviews.
2. As to the change in artists (NEVER a trial artist)...We reserve right to change SECOND artist listed in our Terms. We COURTESY NOTIFIED you on Monday April 21st in your file. You NEVER expressed any concern about who would be your artist for the bridal party. The wedding schedule listed your artists' names and that IS who showed.
We are delighted you LOVED YOUR ARTISTS. Your pictures were lovely and we truly wish you the very best in your new life.
