As a former wedding photographer myself, I assure you Sam Chinigo is one of the most genuinely talented photographers you will ever find!

Where do I even begin to put into words how grateful I am that a true artist such as Sam exists? Even 6 months after my wedding, as I look through every image from our big day, I am in awe of his artistry and talent. If you are looking for the real deal, look no further than Sam Chinigo! As a young aspiring wedding photographer in my early 20’s, I followed Sam’s work for inspiration. Back then I knew he was special, as he stood out from the rest with his unparalleled uniqueness in perspective and creativity. At that time, I told myself if the day ever came that I had the opportunity to walk down the aisle, I knew he would be the photographer for the job. When my now husband proposed 14 years later, I immediately knew who to call. Sam is not only great behind the lens, but he has an amazing easy-going personality. His humor and wit will put any nervous bride at ease. I honestly had so much fun with the shoot prior to the ceremony, I almost forgot I was getting married. When it came to the finished product, Sam crushed it! Every emotion was meticulously captured with such thought, allowing us to relive every moment as if it were unfolding right in front of us. The only challenge I have now is that we need a larger house with more wall space because we can’t possibly narrow down all of our favorites from the day. This day and age, it can be difficult to discern who is a truly a capable photographer since photoshop can fix many flaws. Rest assured, Sam has the utmost raw genuine talent in his field and you will not find a more passionate artist.

A m a z i n g

Where do we even begin?! We first found Sam at the beginning of our wedding planning and from day one he was resourceful, helpful and beyond nice. Our wedding was rescheduled multiple times and then ultimately canceled due to the pandemic - yet Sam was understanding throughout the entire chaotic process. We knew we still wanted Sam to capture our special moment, even though it was not going to be how we originally imagined it. It ended up being 10x better than we imagined. Sam recommended having a post wedding photoshoot and WOW!!! The location he found for us was spectacular. Upon meeting Sam we were instantly comfortable, even my husband who usually avoids the camera at all costs, was following Sams lead blindly. His talent is beyond words. This entire experience is one we will cherish for years to come. We spent the entirety of the session, laughing and genuinely enjoying ourselves. We left the session having complete faith that these photos will be what we dreamt of and more. He was able to capture our love in each photo. We are already looking forward to the next event that Sam can capture. We HIGHLY recommend Sam, his talents and his extremely charismatic personality.

Honored to work with the best

Put simply, Sam is the best. From the moment we first met with Sam in November 2019, he made us feel at ease. He is very friendly and we felt that he was able to make us forget we were even doing a photo shoot as we took our engagement photos. On our wedding day, Sam was very efficient and quick but not in a pushy way that could have made us, our wedding party, or guests feel uncomfortable or in the way. Sam also is very good at balancing the shots he wants to make sure he gets or thinks of while also listening to and executing our thoughts and ideas as well. He captured our whole day beautifully and we have wasted no time decorating our new home in his photos. If you are considering anyone else for your wedding photos, please don't. Go with Sam. He captures memories in such beautiful ways, and we know we will treasure his images for years to come. I guarantee you will not be disappointed by Sam, and we simply cannot thank him enough for joining us for our day and sharing his talent with the world.

Sam was incredibly easy to work with. In general, his work is amazing. However, what we really found impressive is Sam's ability to jump into any given scenario, work with multiple personality types and how he was able to facilitate so many people in an effort to keep things moving in time to capture the best shots. You will not regret booking with Sam! We cannot wait to preview our photos but feel confident in leaving this review prior to doing so because we are so confident in Sam's abilities and experience. From the start of my wedding planning, photography was one area that was extremely important to me. I wasn't looking for the average wedding photographer, I was looking for someone who had a creative eye in photography and show stopping abilities. Once coming across Sam's work I knew I had found my match! From my first conversation with Sam, my mind was put at ease, he is extremely friendly and personable, very witty, relaxed and was open and flexible to all of my requests. He was very responsive to all of our communication up until our wedding day. He arrived early and stayed later than expected, trying to catch every perfect moment. From the moment we started searching for all our wedding vendors, the photography component was our most important one. After the event has come and gone, one is left with photos that allow you to relive a feeling, a moment in time. How does one decide who to trust ? I needed the right person to capture this significant life event.
Sam was brought to my attention through a recommendation from a friend. After reviewing his website and mission, I immediately hired him. In a time with an over abundance of wedding photographers, choosing someone can be quite overwhelming. Sam is not your run of the mill artist. Photography is his life, his PASSION. His creative vision is like no other I've encountered previously. This is clearly shown through his work. Besides the beautiful final items he delivered, Sam is so easy to work with. His fun spirit, witty nature, communication skills, and eagerness to please, made us so grateful we found him. Not to mention, his prices are reasonable and affordable, not outrageous like most. I realize these are all words from a stranger. So here are only a few examples of why he's amazing....
-He arrived early and stayed late. No one asked him to. He did that on his own.
-My guests LOVED his warm, friendly nature
-He made me feel very comfortable and at ease
-I sent him examples of photos I wanted to try and capture... he nailed them all!

We chose Sam because multiple family members had used him as their wedding photographer with great results. Sam was very careful to make sure that he knew exactly what we wanted and what areas of the day that we wanted to focus the most on. He was able to capture the whole day perfectly without us even knowing that he was there most of the time. He photographed each guest having an amazing time without having to "stage" photos and interrupt conversations or dancing. Sam has a fantastic and creative eye and we were lucky to get to work with him. We are extremely happy with the end result and look forward to having these memories forever!

We came upon Sam through a friends recommendation and could not have been happier. He is a gifted artist who photographed our wedding and all of the details exactly the way I had hoped. In addition to the traditional pictures you'd expect, he captured all the special moments I wanted but never would have thought of taking. He was quick with an initial response, easy to talk to leading up to our day and fun to work with. The decision of who you will trust to capture the most important day of your life is not an easy one. When meeting Sam, I felt like we had a great conversation that flowed naturally. He answered as many questions as I had and brought great examples of his work. He was professional and courteous from our first meeting up through our wedding day and even beyond! He is very timely with his responses which was important to me. We loved the photos from our engagement session on Block Island and while it felt like it was one of the hottest days of the summer, Sam just kept going with us! Our wedding photos were simply breathtaking and having to choose the ones for our album was not an easy feat as we loved them all. Sam was also very attentive to things I told him. Making sure to capture specific shots from my parents wedding day or just really cool poses from Pinterest was something he did not forget to do. He is a pleasure to work with and you will not be disappointed with your decision of picking Sam as the guy to capture this moment in your life! We can't wait to revive our wedding album but we already know it will be GREAT!!

I honestly believe in 'you get what you pay for' especially with photography. Sure, he may not be the cheapest price around, but do you want to remember your special day with crap pictures? I didn't think so. Just take a look at the amount of awards he's won and you'll want to shoot an email his way! Incredibly nice guy, honest, and an absolute professional. Worth every penny. :)

Sam was a pleasure to work with. His talent of capturing moments with a more artistic flair is incredible. We found him through a friend who had used him for her wedding. He did our engagement and wedding photos. He made us feel so comfortable even when we felt awkward having our picture taken. His approach is much more natural and noninvasive which we loved. We felt he definitely captured the real us. We can't stop smiling every time we look at our pictures. He's a funny easygoing person to be around which also helped us be less nervous and more natural. He exudes excitement and love for what he does which comes across in his work.

Sam was exceptional to work with. He came highly recommended by a family friend and we love his "non cookie-cutter" style. He answered all of our questions over the phone before booking. We also met in person to look at locations for day of photos. On the day of, Sam photographed me getting ready and his assistant photographed my husband. He was very professional and made everything feel natural. He made everyone feel comfort and did not "force" photos. Sam has such a great eye for a fun style, but also allows suggestions. He knew photos were really important to me and captured so many amazing moments that will be framed in my house. It makes taking photos more enjoyable when your photographer is having fun with you. Sam even stayed until the end of our wedding because he said he was having so much fun watching our family and friends dancing. This was greatly appreciated since my husband and I were surprised with sparklers and Sam was there to catch the moment. Sam also is very quick to turn around photos. We got our online gallery in less than a month after our wedding. I would absolutely recommend Sam to anyone who wants fun, memorable, modern and stunning photos all along a delightful experience.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Sam beginning last year at our engagement session. His great sense of humor and creative flair made us feel very comfortable and at ease. From the first day we met Sam Chinigo we knew he was the photographer for our big day. During our visit with Sam at a coffee shop we spent well over an hour just chatting about general topics along with his services which made us feel like we had a connection and knew him for years. His work is absolutely amazing and words can’t express his talent. From our engagement pictures to our wedding day we were very impressed with the final results. Not only is Sam amazing at what he does but he has a great personality and very professional to work with. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a meaningful act of compassion that should be considered when selecting a photographer for any personal occasion. I fell in love with Sam Chinigo’s artistic flair for wedding photography immediately and felt lucky beyond words that such an accomplished award-winning photographer had our wedding date available. I instantly booked the date and became excited talking over all the details with Sam; he’s personal, engaged and you can tell this is his passion, not just his means of employment. I couldn’t wait for our wedding and was excitedly planning the engagement photo shoot when I had to make the most difficult phone call I had ever made. I called Sam and barely squeaked out the words that my fiancé called off the wedding before dissolving into tears. Sam responded like a friend and not just a ‘wedding vendor’ offering condolences and support. He offered a warmth and humanity that wasn’t received when other vendors were contacted and even offered to work with me about the retainer. Sam’s work speaks for itself, but the compassion he demonstrated sets him apart from others. When it comes down to a momentous occasion such as one’s wedding, this matters; I cannot speak highly enough of Sam as a professional and as a person.

Sam is a photography genius! And a bride's dream come true! He captured every moment, every detail, and every feeling of our wedding day. He was very thoughtful about what my "must have" shots were and he also knew to capture all the classics. My friends who got married before me regret that they chose a cheaper photographer. When I came upon Sam's website I knew he seemed like my kind of guy. He captured all the "little moments" that to me, mean the most for a wedding, or any special day. I just felt he really got what photography was all about. I couldn't stop scrolling through his website when my fiance finally said to give him a call. The rest is history. Sam was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was fun, witty and easy to talk to. Not to mention if we had any questions he was quick to respond and explained everything to us.
On our day we had everything working against us(rain, dusk, having our ceremony inside when it was planned for outside) and his photography was even more than I expected. He went above and beyond to get amazing shots. It was perfect. He worked with our surroundings and and produced phenomenal photos. I love that I forever have his photos of our day and he captured who we are in every one. He's fantastic. I couldn't be happier and will ABSOLUTELY be calling him again for our church blessing of our rings, as well as any other major events that come our way in the future. He was fun, laid back and an absolute joy to work with. You will not be disappointed.

Just by looking at Sam's work online I instantly knew he would be the photographer for our wedding. He was nothing but professional and a gem to work with. Calling All Future Brides!! - If ArtImage's by Sam Chinigo is available on your BIG day, BOOK HIM! I heard of Sam through a friend and I am so glad I did. After seeing his portfolio I didn't need to waste anymore time looking elsewhere. The most important thing on my wedding day was to capture each and every moment so I could look back on them for years to come. Knowing this, I wasn't going to settle with just anyone taking my pictures. Only the best! and ONLY the best is what I got with Sam. Where can I begin...as a bride’s tedious journey of wedding planning began so did the search for a venue, the dress, the flowers, etc and, most importantly, the photographer. We opted not to have our wedding video recorded, so my search revolved around someone who could photograph each moment and capture it so that we may relive those moments and feel it all over again for years to come. I searched and searched, coming across a lot of work that I liked but none that I feel in love with… then I came across Sam! I reviewed his work and found that he was exactly what I had been searching for! My search for a photographer ended that day and everything seemed to fall into place from there on out. He was attentive to our wants and needs and really made me feel like my wedding was special and unique, not just another shoot to him. My absolute favorite thing about him is his mix of utmost professionalism and his ability to be laid back and have fun at the same time! I have to say I am quiet shy in front of the camera, but with Sam’s humor and good nature I quickly forgot the camera was even there and the magic of his creativity began! We let him have free range to do what he does best and the end result was breathtaking! His creativity was what I fell in love with and you can see it shine through in all of his amazing work. Sam photographed our wedding day from start to finish; capturing moments of laughter, love, and awe. I look back and still remember and enjoy every moment. Working with him was so much fun and I can honestly say it added to and enhanced our special day just to have him there! In choosing a photographer for our wedding, we spent countless hours looking at wedding photographer portfolios online. Sam’s portfolio easily stood out from the rest. His ability to capture a candid moment, incorporate beautiful landscapes, and relay the vibe from the day is amazing. Sam was a pleasure to have at our wedding. By the end of the day, we felt like he was our long time buddy. We were so happy with our engagement photo session and couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos. We had a big wedding party with lots of flower girls and just one photographer, Sam. We have amazing photos that are magazine quality and little moments were somehow captured in all the chaos. Our proofs were available for viewing while we were on our honeymoon. Overall, we feel very lucky to have our day photographed by such an amazingly talented photographer. I knew when I got married, my pictures were going to be one of the most important pieces of the whole experience. I came across Sam Chinigo's studio while visiting a possible reception venue, and fell in love with his work. He has a brilliant technique and amazing eye. I loved how his images were not just standard poses. While he will certainly do those (he will shoot whatever you want), his photos are so much more. All emotions are captured throughout the day, hope, love, excitement, laughter, tears...his photos actually bring you back to what you were seeing and more importantly, how you felt on the best day of your life!

He has a great attitude and makes you feel instantly comfortable. He can make anyone smile and feel at ease. He is stealthy at staying unnoticed and out of the way, yet he is able to capture every important moment. I always recommend Sam to anyone I come across looking for a photographer. His images of your special day will be the best decision you can make, at least until you say, I do!

One of the most impressive things Sam did was after our big day. I was concerned we didn't do enough shots of just me in my gown, so he offered to do an additional bridal shoot. So there we were, a couple weeks AFTER the wedding, taking more pictures. He wanted to make sure I was supremely satisfied with my whole wedding experience, it really means a lot to him to please his brides.

P.S. I booked Sam before I booked any other part of the wedding, even the date itself!

Sam has an amazing eye for something just a little bit different than most wedding photographers. His pictures really tease out the story and the emotion of a day or a moment and that was what exactly what we were looking for in addition to the standard posed wedding shots. He can do both brilliantly. We met him for the first time for an engagement session. He was funny, engaging and really brought out the best in both of us. The pictures are proof. We look great! For the wedding, we really wanted someone who understood/or had shot other Indian weddings because some photographers don't bring out the best in darker skin tones. We didn't need to worry, Sam had both shot Indian weddings before and really understood the difference in skin tones and even the cultural nuances of being involved in an Indian wedding. His depth of expertise was clear. As for affordability, we were off season, so his prices were really good for the wedding, but even in high season, he is worth every penny. He is very flexible about packages and can really work with you to build a package you can afford that meets your needs. He went consistently above and beyond what was in the contract. And as for the wedding day itself, he was wonderful. He stayed later than planned just to get some shots of my husband and I alone that we didn't have time for earlier. We recommend him highly...a true professional and true joy to work with. If you want someone who can make your pictures unique and special so that every shot doesn't look just look like everyone else's wedding, Sam is your man.

Out of our BIG wedding vendors (DJ, Videographer, Photographer, Flowers and the management at the reception venue) Sam was by far the most accomodating and my favorite to work with. His pictures and work literally make it seem as though the moments captured were a fairytale of sorts. The pictures always looked better than anything I remembered from the wedding and our engagement session. His artistic ability is unlike any I've ever seen. He is a vendor that truly loves what he does and is willing to work with clients to come up with a package that works for that specific couples needs. He's fun to be around and I just know that I can trust him 100% with anything I ask of him. I would recommend Sam to anyone, which I already have. Sam is also photographing both of my brother's weddings this year and it's because of our experience with him from our wedding. I can't say enough good things about Sam as a person or his work. Top notch. I dare anyone out there to find a better photographer that falls into the price range that Sam is charging for his services. THEY DON'T EXIST!!!!

If you are looking for the best wedding photographer out there - you found him! Basically, the only thing that you have to worry about is if he's still available! :)

The short version: Sam is fantastic. I strongly recommend that you read the long version! :)

The long version: I recommend him with no reservations. He is personable, accommodating, artistic, non-intrusive and absolutely talented at capturing precious moments and emotions. His creative eye can transform your ceremony and/or reception venue into an amazing backdrop.

Sam was very candid (no pun intended!) with my husband and I right from our first informational meeting with him. He did not put any pressure on us to make a decision or sign a contract.

The engagement session: For our engagement session photo shoot, Sam met us at the actual location where we got engaged. Not only was the location special, but I think that he really captured "us." Some pictures were more formal, while others were casual and some were just plain fun! The pictures are awesome and made a really unique guest book on our wedding day. Also, this time together gave us all the opportunity to get to know each other a little better and become more comfortable so that on the wedding day we already kind of knew what to expect.

The Wedding Day: Sam was completely non-intruisive, yet somehow he was everywhere we needed and wanted him to be. He was very receptive to requests from us and our families (i.e. when my grandmother was on the dance floor I asked him to get a shot of that....and he captured that moment for me)

The pictures: Sam put the pictures up on his website (with a personalized ID and password) for us to see relatively quickly. We actually were looking at them for the first time when we were at the airport on the way back from our honeymoon!

The album: We are finalizing our album now and the draft looks phenomenal....can't wait to have the real thing in my hands!

The experience: My husband and I have really enjoyed working with Sam. We are very happy with the quality of service and product. It is evident that he loves what he does and he definitely has a very special talent for it.

We loved working with Sam! And we have beautiful photos that will last us a lifetime! I was extremely picky when it came to higher a photographer because it's a hobby of mine- I do not regret hiring him at all! He exceeded what I was anticipating.

Sam is an excellent photographer. We chose him for our wedding after reviewing his work and meeting with him. He is a true artist and knows how to get all of the "standard" wedding shots as well as many untraditional shots that will amaze you.

Sam was always professional and amiable. He know how important photographs of our 91 year old grandnmother were to us and he made her feel like a queen without being "in our face". In fact, we and most of our guests barely noticed Sam at the wedding which is truly the best compliment you give a photographer.

Sam was reaonably priced and flexible in that he was willing to modify his standard packages to meet our needs.

If breath-taking photography and reliable service is what you are after then Sam is your photographer. He is a genuine artist in every sense of the word, but he is also friendly, personable and comes through with everything he promises to. He also is very accessible, responding to emails with an hour or less on some occasions!

If you're looking for the BEST photographer in CT, look no farther than Sam. We got married in November, 2015 and he is absolutely AMAZING. We decided not to have a videographer and use our funds for the photographer instead so were so hopeful the images would be fantastic and they were. Sam was so flexible right from the start, so easy to work with, laid back and professional, and such a sense of humor. We knew we loved his work from this website but didn't realize how extraordinary his talent really is until we saw the pictures from our wedding. We are big fans and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sam 100% to any bride. Do yourself a favor, book Sam!

I was lucky enough to have Sam as my wedding phorographer! Sam is an amazing photographer and a wonderful person to work with. His ideas were original, very creative, and perfectly portrayed our special day. He worked with me every step of the way, heard what I had to say, and listened to what I wanted. He was very reasonably priced, and worth SO MUCH MORE. I'd recommend him to anyone. Thanks Sam for capturing my wedding day in the most amazing way!

Sam picked our photographer Steve. He was brilliant. He made us feel incredibly comfortable and our pictures came out beautifully. We were arranging our wedding long distance in Las Vegas for a West Hartford, CT event. Sam was sometimes difficult to contact. But always came through in the end. We chose to go with an hourly rate and not a package because it was more cost effective and efficient for us. I would highly recommend Sam's photographer Steve for you wedding. We were extremely pleased with the result.

Sam is very fun yet professional. He is very easygoing and will do whatever you want but still put his artistic, creative spin on it. Difficult to describe, but basically exactly what I was looking for. (Probably also difficult to come by as far as photographers go!!) I was also impressed with how quickly he always got back to me by e-mail whenever I had questions. Of course, wedding photography is always expensive, but I think he's worth it - exactly the style I was looking for so I couldn't say no! Haha. Moreover, there are plenty more photographers who set a higher price.... I would recommend him to all.

My husband and I hired Sam for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos. We really enjoyed working with him. He was professional, fun and very flexible. The quality of his work is amazing, and ultimately what drew us to him (the fact that he was a nice guy didn't hurt either). I am a graphic designer and am very picky when it comes to aesthetics. He did not disappoint! He has an eye for finding certain angles in moments that most people don't see. He treats his photos as works of art and really takes the entire image into consideration. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for high-quality photography!

Sam did beautiful engagement photos but the wedding photos, while beautiful, did not reflect his unique artistry shown on his website. He also almost canceled our engagement shoot the day of due to another shoot he had scheduled. He sometimes took awhile to respond to emails. He also told us at one point he would have our digital prints to us soon and two months later I had to follow up again.
