As soon as you step foot on the property, you can feel the love and romance it brings. My mom came across this venue and the pictures don't do it justice. Not only is the property so beautiful, the venue coordinator Lisa is quite the added bonus. She was the only person we met that asked about us as a couple and how we met. She is in the right industry and it shows. The day of, Lisa was there in the snap of a finger with anything you needed. Throughout the process, like many other couples, we had TONS of questions. Lisa was always super responsive and kind, she even gave great suggestions. The other best thing about Appleford is there are endless vendors that have worked there and each of them have such positive things to say. Even talking to vendors we didn't hire, spoke so highly of Appleford. We cannot recommend this place enough and can't wait to visit for our one year anniversary or just to walk around with our dog. Is it truly a magical place and worth the visit, could not recommend them more! -

My wife and I had our wedding here on April 10th. We had been in communication with Lisa of Appleford for a little over a year prior.
Lisa was incredibly helpful through the entire process leading up to the wedding, as well as during the wedding. It is clear that she cares not only for the venue, but also for the guests and married couple. We couldn't have been happier with her help.
The venue speaks for itself. One look at the boxwood gardens and we were in love. The venue is stunning inside and outside, and the newly completed rose garden is a wonderful addition to the grounds. Over and over we had heard from guests how beautiful the venue is, it felt like a fairy tale.
The venue is classy, classic, nature oriented, and stunning, it will leave your guests with lasting memories. Don't hesitate, you're in great hands! -

We recently celebrated our wedding ceremony and reception at Appleford in October 2025 and the day was an absolute dream!
We knew Appleford would be the venue of our dreams after our initial tour, exploring the beautiful grounds and seeing the historic charm of the property; we were immediately captivated by the romantic atmosphere.
Lisa was such a pleasure to work with from scheduling our initial tour and becoming a partner throughout the planning process leading up to our big day - she is remarkable at what she does!
We are beyond grateful we chose Appleford to celebrate our wedding day. You can feel the magic in the air as soon as you step foot onto the property. Thank you Appleford! -

Choosing Appleford for our wedding was hands down one of the best choices we made in wedding planning. From the first tour Lisa made the experience as easy and stress free as possible. Their recommended vendors and partnered caters were great, and the open houses they held made selection smooth and gave us peace of mind knowing we were making informed decisions.
One reason we loved Appleford was knowing they had a good rain plan - unfortunately, we did have to use this rain plan for some of our day so we were so incredibly grateful that the inside of the estate was stunning and ready for indoor use when the time came. The onsite coordinator was helpful in every respect and helped with everything including wardrobe malfunctions for the mother of the bride (helping to sew her dress when it was needed)!
Our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was which was obvious from the moment you step on the property. We cannot recommend Appleford enough and are so incredibly grateful that we chose them for our wedding day! -

Our wedding at Appleford was an absolute DREAM. Choosing Appleford as our venue was our first and easiest decision throughout the wedding planning process. They are incredibly responsive, attentive, and supportive throughout the planning process. The venue is so beautiful (I noticed lots of guests exploring and appreciating the grounds on their own) and the flow of the whole event space is easy and smooth. Our wedding was over 3 months ago, and we are still obsessed with the venue. If you are looking for a floral/elegant/garden party vibe that has beautiful Pennsylvania features, you should check out Appleford! -

Appleford is truly the most PERFECT wedding venue for your garden party wedding themed dreams. From a practicality standpoint, the permanent tent means you don't need to stress about developing a rain plan or spending more money on one. And then from a dream wedding standpoint, this venue is unreal. The grounds are so beautifully maintained, the patio and reception setting against the stone house give this venue SO much character and charm, and the staff is incredible. Getting to work with Lisa on our wedding was truly a blessing. She answered my millions of questions with kindness and professionalism (and an incredibly quick turnaround), making a very stressful time significantly less stressful. There is truly no need to tour other venues if Appleford is on your list - it's perfect! -

I can’t say enough amazing things about Appleford. We had our wedding there on 6/7 and it was the greatest day of our lives. From the moment we walked up to the venue we knew we had to get married there. It is absolutely stunning!!! Our guests did not stop talking about how incredible it was. Lisa the main contact could not have been any greater to work with. I would recommend Appleford to anyone - it is such a special place!!! Book it!! -

We had the most amazing experience planning and having our wedding at Appleford - we just got married there on August 6th, 2023!! Not only are the grounds STUNNING (everything is photo-worthy), but the director of events, Lisa, is amazing - she's there to answer any questions you have and is so quick to respond. Lisa truly went above and beyond for us as well as the entire staff at Appleford, everyone was and has continued to be so kind to us. We booked & planned our wedding in 3 months, so having such a responsive point of contact was really important to us and it made it so much easier to plan on a time-crunch. Truly an unforgettable experience - I highly recommend getting married here if you're considering it, it was the best day of our lives and our guests LOVED it too!! CANNOT recommend Appleford Estate enough for an event venue!! My husband and I just got married here May 26, 2023 and it was one of the best days of our lives. Multiple guests raved that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to! I think the venue's magic stems from the beauty and versatility of the grounds/fieldstone home, and the attentiveness and amazingness of their director, Lisa Mcbride.
From touring the venue, to planning the wedding to executing the event, Lisa was always attentive, skilled, and caring in her approach. For example: multiple times I had emailed her non-urgent questions at odd hours of the day or weekend and I'd be shocked to see her respond within 1-2 hours. The day of our rehearsal and wedding, she had the biggest smile and shared in our joy in addition to supporting coordinating all the details. Lisa, like Appleford, is an absolute gem. Forever grateful for choosing Appleford for our wedding and reception.
Oh!! Can't believe I almost forgot to mention another one of our favorite selling points: THEY ARE DOG FRIENDLY :0)

My now husband and I visited Appleford early in our search for a venue and we were so mesmerized with the estate house, the gorgeous gardens and the history behind this beautiful place. We had a fall wedding and it was so magical! Can’t recommend this venue enough! -

We got married at Appleford Estate this past October. The venue is wonderful, both inside and out, and Lisa made the whole stressful wedding experience much less so. She was available to answer any and all of our questions, big and small, and made sure that the day went as smoothly as possible. We (unfortunately) ended up married during the remnants of Hurricane Ian but Lisa moved us seamlessly to our backup plan and made sure everyone was on the same page. The wedding was as beautiful and smooth as it could be. We'd highly recommend working with Lisa and Appleford if you're looking for your dream venue! -

We had the most incredible time having our wedding at Appleford this past September. Lisa was a wealth of knowledge and so helpful through the whole planning process. The grounds were beautiful and offered a stunning backdrop for our perfect day. The foliage in September was perfect for an “early fall” wedding, and we could not have been happier with how everything came together. 10/10 would recommend to any bride looking for and outside wedding with gardens and the use of a beautiful estate home and rented space. -

Dream wedding at Appleford!
We are so happy that we chose Appleford as our wedding venue. Lisa at Appleford was such a pleasure to work with and she was so responsive whenever we had questions. It was a beautiful venue and we worked with John Serock catering (one of their exclusive caterers) and everything went so smoothly, we were able to sit back and enjoy our wedding. Even in August, dinner on the patio outside did not feel hot and the fans were very effective. I know there is a noise limit and at first I was concerned, but with our DJ we didn't run into any problems and the music was sufficiently loud, I never thought about the volume of the music at all. I can't recommend Appleford enough! -

Appleford made this day so easy and so perfect. Lisa is WONDERFUL! I probably asked her 150 questions and she responded promptly to every single one. The day of the wedding, Appleford staff helped me glue my broken nail back together and treated me like I was family. I couldn't have chosen a better or more beautiful venue. -

Quick backstory, my wife and I were in the midst of determining whether we wanted to postpone our wedding for a second time or make it incredibly small in order to have it at our original venue (this was the beginning of 2020). While doing so, we reached out to some outdoor venues to see their availability and how many people they would be able to accommodate. Appleford was one of these venues and Lisa responded the same night with their availability and safety plan. The following day, we tentatively picked a new date for our wedding and scheduled a trip out to Appleford to visit.
From the moment we stepped onto the estate we knew we had made the right choice. It’s a beautiful oasis situated right in Lower Merion Township. The grounds are vast and include a garden, a greenhouse, and a beautiful little river where we held our ceremony. The house itself is beautiful and spacious and we were able to use the patio for our reception and the rooms inside to get ready/chill in. It is an exceptionally beautiful spot that we were incredibly happy to choose and lucky to secure the date.
And Lisa McBride, who was our contact for Appleford, was just incredible. She was responsive, often responding to emails at 6:00 am, and flexible. We felt comfortable and safe working with her which after the year we had had, was something we valued. She knew our caterers, was able to work with our baker, and worked seamlessly with our coordinator.
Honestly, we could not have had a more beautiful and seamless wedding and this was due in large part to Appleford Estate and Lisa. Highly recommend!

We hosted the most beautiful, romantic wedding I could have imagined for us. Our guests are still swooning over how beautiful the grounds were, and we could not thank Lisa enough for her support during our postponement and all of my requests.
I love chandeliers and taper candles, and working together with our florist and Lisa was open to entertaining our design ideas for inside the tent.
This was the best garden venue I could find in the tri-state area that provided an even more romantic rain plan. Luckily, we had wonderful weather and all of our guests were able to walk around the gardens and take pictures!
Thank you, Appleford Estate and team for the perfect wedding we so patiently waited for! -

Picturesque garden wedding
My husband and I got married at Appleford in August 2021. As soon as we saw the venue for the first time, we knew this was exactly what we had hoped for.
From the classic Pennsylvania estate, getting married in front the pond, pictures in the rose and shrub gardens, to the indoor/outdoor feel of the tented pavilion - it felt like a dream.
Lisa, Charlotte, and the Appleford staff were welcoming and attentive to our needs throughout our day. I would recommend Appleford to anyone! -

We recently had our wedding at Appleford of May 21st. It was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t of asked for a better place to do our wedding. Appleford was actually the first venue we looked and we just couldn’t stop thinking about it. We just knew it was the place. Lisa was so amazing the entire time. She was there every step of the way and I couldn’t of ask for anything better. This place is beyond beautiful and I can not wait to be able to go back in the years to come. -

Thank you Appleford & Lisa!!
We were married at Appleford on 11/14/2020 with approximately 75 guests. During our wedding planning process we had to change our date, our venue and our guest list, and ended up choosing Appleford just four months before our wedding day! From the moment we toured Appleford and met Lisa, we knew we found a special place perfect for our celebration.
Even before we booked, Lisa was responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions and talking through concerns. During the entire planning process, there was never a time we couldn’t get in touch with Lisa for even the smallest questions, and we were able to visit four/five times leading up to the wedding day to discuss floor plans, COVID considerations, etc. Just two days before the wedding, Lisa helped to coordinate surprising the groom with videos from his family during the reception, as they couldn’t travel to the US from India due to the travel restrictions.
Appleford is the most beautiful venue - with picturesque spaces for ceremony and reception, as well as spectacular backdrops for wedding photos. The grounds are breathtaking during any season, and the main house was warm and inviting, while also providing a great space to get ready the morning of the wedding.
Thank you, Appleford for providing such a beautiful place for our wedding day, and thank you, Lisa for making the day so special. You were so thoughtful and caring toward us, seamlessly working with all of our different vendors, and making our planning easier and even more special than we ever thought. We could not have asked for more! -

Appleford was literally a dream. Lisa was so wonderful and easy to work with! It was the most beautiful and whimsical venue I could have ever imagined for my wedding. My guests compared it to Stars Hollow (from Gilmore Girls) and multiple couples had said that they want to get remarried or do a vow renewal there! I could not have asked for anything more perfect or amazing for my wedding! -

From the moment we contacted Appleford with our interest in getting married at their venue, they were terrific and we felt right at home when touring the venue with Lisa. This venue is absolutely gorgeous inside and outside, and we knew right away that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding. Our wedding fell right in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. While my husband and I were trying to decide what was best, Lisa McBride was there the whole time checking in and making sure we were calm, supported, and that she was there to help in anyway that we needed. We decided to go through with our wedding (approximately 110 guests). Everyone at Appleford, especially Lisa McBride, was incredible with accommodations. The venue is beautiful and the tent feature made our outdoor wedding the perfect stress-free scene! We give this venue 10/10 and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! -

When I was forced to move my wedding to a completely outdoor space, Appleford was the first venue that I toured. Lisa, the event coordinator, responded within minutes to my email and got me a tour that morning. She worked with my family to plan an intimate wedding ceremony in only three weeks! She was a rockstar! Getting married at Appleford was a dream! The grounds are breathtaking, and it is the perfect spot for incredible photos! From the box garden to the historic mansion, there are so many unique spaces for your guests to enjoy! If I could give Appleford more than 5 stars I would! They helped make my wedding day possible even with the crazy circumstances in the world! I will forever be thankful for their graciousness, hospitality, and care that they showed my family and I! You will not regret getting married here! -

Our wedding venue was canceled due to Corona. My family is in Illinois and my husband's family is in New York. We needed to find a venue pretty last minute that would allow for travel from both states. The Appleford in Villanova PA was the most amazing option. It is close to the PHL airport and only a 2 hour drive from New York. We were able to arrange the wedding within the shortest timeframe - just 2 weeks! -

Appleford was truly the PERFECT venue for us and I feel so lucky we found it! We changed our plans last minute because of CoVID and we were looking for something outdoor for a micro-wedding. Though we only had 40 people, it didn't feel empty, and even in the mid-August heat the fans under the tent kept us cool. The grounds are absolutely stunning and made for breathtaking pics. Lisa was wonderful to work with as well! We are so grateful that we found this venue! -

Everything we ever wanted in a venue. The bride being a stylistic and historical oriented person and the groom being one who enjoys nature and wildlife, this venue satisfied them both with its mixture of both. An historical estate within an arboretum, including a pond and a hedge maze, this venue has something for everyone. It also has a fantastic rain plan (which never is required) just in case...and plenty of space indoors in case it is hot out. The Hostess was always accessible and nothing but professional. -

I had planned a bridal shower at Appleford Estate in April 2019. One word... WOW. The estate is gorgeous and was a perfect setting for the event. Laurie was very helpful throughout the planning process and we ended up with a 72 and sunny day- spending most of the event in the patio area and gift opening in the stunning living room. Had so many compliments from the ladies and the bride enjoyed every moment. Thank you, Laurie! Hope to be able to come back again soon. -

I have hosted many events at Appleford over the years -from corporate gala's to my father's funeral luncheon to a recent baby shower. I'm always so pleased with how beautiful the estate can be transformed into your special event. The house has a warm, comfortable and stately ambience. Your guests will be in awe of it's beauty and lovely gardens. I'm still getting compliments! Laurie and her staff could not be more accommodating to ensure a successful event. -

I knew I wanted to have my wedding at Appleford the second I drove up the long tree lined driveway. My husband and I were looking for a beautiful outdoor venue with trees and a natural setting to have both our ceremony and reception. Appleford had this, beautiful gardens, and an amazing estate house with an interesting history. We amazingly had a bright sunny day for our wedding and were able to be married in front of the new Willow Tree (both my husband and my favorite tree)! The director, Laurie was easy to work with and promptly responded to all my questions. She also knew several of the vendors that we had, which made it easy to trust everything would run smoothly. Beyond the beautiful natural setting, the tented terrace looked magical with hanging bistro lighting and perfectly complemented our gorgeous flowers. I think my favorite areas were the garden area where the outdoor bar and cocktail hour was held and the bridal suite. There was plenty of space for guests to wander around and feel comfortable. I highly recommend Appleford! -

Always responding to emails and phone calls and willing to meet with us at Appleford to do multiple walkthroughs with decorators, caterers....etc...
Our wedding was outside and I couldn't have been happier with the way the whole day turned out. Laurie was there the whole time in case we needed anything and I was delighted to have her there. I would highly recommend Appleford to anyone who is looking for a beautiful wedding site! -

Appleford was such a dream venue for us. The grounds are beautiful, the reception space under the tent was equally as nice, and the house has such a warm, vibrant feel. We were constantly complimented by guests on how beautiful it was as a backdrop for our wedding. Appleford was the perfect (dog friendly!) venue and our day was in a word - surreal. The grounds were breathtaking (as usual), the house impeccable, and our guests were delighted to stroll around the gardens, play games, dance, explore the house, and eat eat EAT!!! Lisa has been immensely helpful since our first meeting and is the fastest email responder- which this bride appreciated! Mary was very kind, enthusiastic and helpful. We were graced with good weather and held the ceremony outdoors; our guests were blown away with the magnificent rose gardens and the natural beauty of the property. The inside of the house is just as wonderful and has charming historical elements that you can't find at many reception venues. The coordinator of Appleford was absolutely fantastic and allowed us to visit several times on short notice - she was so easy to work with! Erin Sent on 09/16/2008We absolutely fell in love with Appleford from the moment we first saw it. It is GORGEOUS! And we saw it first in the dead of winter so by the time we go married at the end of the summer, it was breathtaking with everything green and in bloom. There are so many gardens for guests to roam through and to use during cocktail hour, as well as MANY photo ops. The stone terrace and the tent up against the house is beautiful, as well as the interior of the house. Laurie McGrath, the liason with Appleford was quick to respond to my emails and helpful with the booking process. After it was booked though, we really didn't need to go through her for much, it was more with our caterer since EVERYTHING is brought in from the outside with Appleford (music, food, alcohol, etc). Appleford is a bit pricey to rent out, more so than any other place we had visited, but we loved it so much we just cut back a little in other places (and you would never know). However, compared to Greystone Hall which is another similar venue in this general area, it is a few thousand (!) cheaper and in my opinion and that of many guests we spoke with - it's prettier! As far as flexibility, Appleford is somewhat strict. It sits back off the road of a residential area so they have to follow very specific rules with the borough regarding noise levels. Because of this, you must choose from a list of approved musicians. However, the list includes atleast 15 different vendors, including bands and DJ's. We were a little hesitant about this at first because they kept stressing that the "music code" must be followed, but it was NEVER a problem and our dance floor was absolutely packed the entire night. Also, receptions must be over by I believe 10 pm on fri and sat nights because it is a residential area. Our wedding was on a Sunday however, so it was supposed to end by 9. They agreed to work with us though and allowed us to go until 9:30 so that was very nice. All in all, my husband and I as well as our families and guests LOVED LOVED LOVED Appleford. So many people told us it was "the perfect place" for a wedding :-)
