We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Angela and her assistant as our wedding photographers. From our very first call, we knew we were in great hands—Angela was warm, professional, and knew our venue so well, which instantly put us at ease. We also had her photograph our rehearsal dinner, and it was such a great decision—it helped us feel completely comfortable with her before the big day.
On our wedding day, Angela captured every photo we had hoped for—within the exact time frame we discussed. She arrived on time and got right to work, helping keep our day perfectly on track without ever feeling rushed. Thanks to her, we actually got to enjoy our cocktail hour with our guests! She made the photo process so fun and natural, offering gentle guidance when needed while still letting us be ourselves.
The previews we've seen so far are absolutely stunning—Angela has such an artistic eye and made both us and the beautiful scenery around us look incredible. Her assistant was also amazing, catching the most heartfelt candids and always being nearby to snap quick shots with friends and family throughout the night.
Angela even made sure we got a few special post-dinner photos without keeping us off the dance floor too long. We are so grateful for her talent, organization, and kind presence. We can’t wait to see the full gallery—and we truly hope to work with her again in the future!

We were introduced to Angela by Jen, our wedding planner at A Fresh Event. As creatives, and despisers of the conventional, if we were going to invest in someone to document the most important day of our lives so far, my husband and I wanted someone who could tell our story in the most beautiful way possible. As soon as we saw Angela's work, we fell in love--the compositions, the lighting, capturing the mini moments that matter--telling the story of the beautiful souls captured in those shots. Once we met her (via zoom), it was a done deal--Angela is so cool and down to earth, has impeccable taste, and is the supermom that I one day aspire to be. Then, the day of, the gloves came off, and she got down to business. I cannot even begin to thank her for all the hard work it took to work within our timeline, and getting us images and lighting she knew would work best. Her second-shooter, Chrissy, was awesome!!! Super friendly and fun to be around, getting everyone relaxed and having a good time. We are so, so thankful. What a team. -

Angela captured our wedding day perfectly and I am glad that she was our photographer! We loved the photos on her website, but it was really our first meeting where we knew she would be the right fit for us. And we were right - she is very experienced and helped our day run smoothly! Angela is particularly good at capturing candids, but is of course great at portraits too, and did a phenomenal job photographing us, as well as our friends and family. We had an engagement session which was really helpful (mostly for us to get comfortable in front of the camera), and made us even more excited to work with her on our wedding day. Her questionnaire also helped us think through how the day should go and left no stone unturned. We whole-heartedly recommend Angela for your photography needs! And if you have Chrissy as your second photographer - even better!! -

I can not say enough about how AMAZING Angela is! She was so great to work with from day 1, and was even MORE incredible on the wedding day. She was very communicative, punctual, and has a way of making you feel EXTREMELY comfortable doing something that a lot of us don't do every day (getting photos taken). She also wasn't afraid to climb trees/rocks, or lay down in the grass to get the photo framed perfectly! We are so happy with the moments she was able to capture from one of the most important days of our lives.

Angela is the photographer of our dreams; she is the rare creative who not only lives up to our lofty expectations but far exceeds them. We first found Angela via Instagram in 2018 and fell in love with her online portfolio. As out-of-town parents of the groom, we were searching for someone to photograph our son’s surprise proposal at an eatery in Chicago. Angela responded promptly to our inquiry and was excited to be part of the clandestine surprise, bringing a second shooter along to take photos of our families hiding in the street while she posed nonchalantly as a fellow diner in the restaurant. They captured every emotion: the anticipation, the nerves, the shock, the tears, the laugher, the delight. The photos from that day are simply spectacular, as are the ones taken during their engagement session a few days later. Angela is a master of light, shooting gorgeous portraits and STUNNING city scenes!!! She is a true artist with an incredible eye. Combined with her fine arts training, Angela’s work is elevated and editorial. As their wedding photographer, she was equally comfortable and competent shooting in challenging lighting challenges, from inside the hotel suite and dimly lit church, to the bright sunny courtyard for family photos. She then easily and adeptly transitioned to using flash during the reception, delivering beautifully exposed - and beautifully composed - photos. Her years of experience and knowledge of how a wedding day unfolds calmed our nerves, and she easily organized all of us without being bossy or dominating. She and her awesome second shooter put everyone at ease, blended in with our guests, and unobtrusively captured all the key moments and details of our weekend. (Yes, we hired her to photograph the rehearsal dinner, as well – such a great decision!) She captured every minute detail that had been planned with such care, the spontaneous moments that we ourselves missed, and all the magic in between. Our youngest daughter was recently married in our home state – Angela’s photos from our son’s wedding in Chicago FAR EXCEEDED the photos we received from the nationally recognized photographer here. The experience could not have been more different. Angela’s incredible talent, personality, work ethic, desire to please, responsiveness, communication and editing skills are top notch. Angela is one of the best investments you can make.
(Postscript – Angela took the most darling family photos two years later when their first baby arrived. We have already booked her to document the arrival of baby number two in January. Need we say more?)

Angela was amazing throughout this whole process. She did an incredible job and our photos are amazing. I have a light sensitivity issue with flashes and she managed it amazing and I had no issues all night. We've already received a ton of compliments on how great the photos are. We'd HIGHLY recommend Angela if you are looking for incredibly professional photos and someone that will help make a jam packed day fun and manageable, go with her. -

We worked with Angela for our wedding in October 2021. I honestly can't say enough good things about her. From the moment we met, we knew we would be comfortable with her. We felt pretty confident that our photos would turn out nicely, but they were above and beyond what we expected. We'd asked for some artistic shots and also formal and candid shots. The thing we were most delighted by was the way Angela captured the joy of the moment in so many candids. Each time we look through our photos, it's like reliving our wedding day. We've received so many compliments on our photos and and comments that we had a great photographer. I enthusiastically recommend working with Angela for your wedding photos! -

It’s been 3 months since our wedding and 3 years since we booked Angela Renee as our wedding photographer, and I can honestly say that time has in no way mellowed my appreciation for the fabulous work she does! Every step of the way Angela and her counterpart were warm, fun, insightful and incredibly generous with their time and energy. Nothing about the service we got from Angela is generic. Her flexibility and problem solving qualities are everything you need on such a stressful day and having 2 photographers is incredible; you get to relive your wedding from so many different perspectives, capturing the heart and love of your family and closest friends. Whenever I look at our photos (which is every day!) it reminds me to be grateful and celebrate with the people I love, I’m not sure you could ask anymore from your wedding photographer. She also did our engagement shoot which I love equally as much as our wedding photos. I get compliments from everyone all the time on both! Can’t wait to use Angela in the future for family photos, not only is she the most talented and best photographer but a true gem of a person and friend. -

THE BEST of the best. We had the pleasure of having Angela as our wedding photographer and could not recommend her enough. I am truly blown away by her talent, her kindness, and her ability to capture all our real and authentic moments naturally and professionally. She made us so comfortable in front of the camera and was a true joy to be around on the most important day of our lives. She has our best interests in mind and went above and beyond to take all the pressure off of us. She had every angle, shadow, backdrop mapped out beforehand so when the day came, we just got to be in the moment because of all her preparation. She collaborated with me on the little things I had strong opinions on, but the other things that were just a source of anxiety (for example a backup rain plan, confusing family photo requests based around babies nap schedules, a strict timeline) she offered her reassurance that she’s got it, and she really did. When she delivered the pictures I cried from start to finish, I couldn’t believe the little moments she just sensed were important and we feel so incredibly lucky to have those photos for the rest of our lives, in addition to all the perfect big moments. She exceeded all expectations and if she is available, but only advice is to book her now. -

Angela was recommended to us by our venue and we couldn't have been happier with our experience working with her. Leading up to the wedding she was communicative and easy to work with. Day of, her friendliness and enthusiasm really helped make us feel less awkward posing for so many pictures. And of course, the final photos were GORGEOUS. Both posed photographs and candid shots really captured what we hoped to remember about the day. Highly recommend!! -

We highly recommend Angela Renee Photography! Angela took both our Engagement session photos and a couple months later, our Wedding photos in October 2020.
Angela’s work that she had shared on Instagram immediately drew us to her and after some email correspondence we had a very informative Facetime call that allowed us to get to know Angela better and Angela wanted to get to know us and what our vision for our Wedding day and photos looked like. In our case, we loved having a lot of candid photos to look back on that would allow us to feel like we were present in the room when we looked back on our wedding day. And obviously we wanted a number of staged shots to capture the day. When we received the finished product, the photos were exactly what we had in mind when we talked to Angela.
A few other takeaways that may help you:
- Angela took so many pictures, even in smaller moments during the wedding day which was great looking back on.
- Angela is personable and fun and she felt like part of our small wedding party the entire day.
- Angela’s communication and planning skills are great. With so many moving parts on your Wedding day, you will know weeks ahead of time exactly where your photos will be taken. In our case we chose to have our first look at the Wrigley Building, then took pictures in front of Board of Trade, then LaSalle Street Bridge, before heading the ceremony and reception. Angela will have her own recommendations based on your desired style and is open to suggestions and can make phone calls to venues for photos for you too.
- Angela really works to get the best picture. At a couple points she was making small climbs to get the best angles.
- Did we mention the photos look amazing!
- The package we chose had a 2nd shooter on the wedding day which worked out great for showing the groom getting ready and bride getting ready at separate locations before the first look.
- Angela put together a short slideshow of some of the wedding photos, set to music, that we were able to share with family and friends too.

Angela Renee was our engagement and wedding photographer and she was fantastic! She's quick with the camera, friendly to us and guests and made us feel comfortable and confident both days, even though we're awkward as can be in staged photos. She's a pro at catching genuine smiles and gorgeous photos on top of being incredibly organized and responsive! We even lost a few groomsman bc their car broke down and I was pocket-less (and therefore phone-less) in a a wedding dress and Angela had pro-actively gotten their contact info so she could help change plans on a dime and get them where they needed to be. If you want the photos to turn out perfect without you having to stress about it, hire Angela Renee. -

We knew that picking a wedding photographer that we got along with was critical because we'd be spending our entire day and night with them - and right when we met Angela we knew she was a great fit. Her photos are amazing and she's a wonderful person, someone who is super easy to get along with. She is so calm and made us both feel at ease on the day of. In addition, the photos she took turned out amazing. They were the exact style we wanted - a great mix of candids and posed shots - and very creative. She also has a great eye in what she captures. We would recommend Angela to anyone in a heartbeat!

Angela did a fantastic job with our engagement photos and wedding. I knew photography was going to be a very important part of our wedding (as someone who treasures family photos), and when we met with Angela, I knew she would take that responsibility seriously. In addition to the obviously gorgeous pictures Angela takes, Angela had a calming and professional air that helped my fiance and two nervous mothers be at ease and happy with their pictures at the end of such a big day (not an easy feat!). She directed us when needed, but also captured the un-posed sweet moments that happened in between. She stayed to a timeline while still capturing the shots we wanted without rushing, and did excellent work getting pictures of our 175 guests during our reception. I've had two people comment that these were the best wedding photos of the whole day they'd ever seen and a few friends who weren't able to make it say that Angela's work truly captured the emotion of the whole day and helped them feel like they were right there. We can't wait to be similarly transported in years to come looking back on the photos of such a special day. -

Angela takes the time to know the couples she works with and does a great job connecting to their story and vibe. I'm amazed at the way she captures truly intimate and candid moments so beautifully and artistically.
Angela is adaptive in any environment. We had a rustic wedding in the Colorado Rockies and she captured the landscape perfectly. She even did a bit of hiking with us to get the perfect shot. We absolutely love our wedding photos and our family and friends were blown away by how lovely they are. We had a blast reliving the day through Angela's photos, they made us laugh and cry and we can't thank her enough. -

From our first initial meeting with Angela (held while devouring ice cream) to our engagement session to the big day, we knew we made the right decision in booking Angela. Angela truly listens to each couple's wants/needs, and then delivers tenfold. She made us feel so comfortable while being photographed, and was able to capture some amazing candid shots, which we love. We met with Angela a few months before our wedding to go over the wedding day details as well as discuss our style. She was extremely accommodating with our last minute requests and even went on the Ferris Wheel with us to get some amazing shots:) Having your pictures taken all day can get a bit uncomfortable but Angela gave great direction while shooting and made us look and feel like models! We received a lot of compliments from guests on how approachable Angela and her second shooter were. Our pictures turned out beautiful and we could not be more pleased with the final product!
