Amanda Summerlin is quite literally the best wedding photographer there is. She brings the whole package: breathtaking pictures (duh), humor to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, a calm demeanor, great service pre and post wedding, and so much more. My wife and I booked Amanda as our photographer a little less than a year out from our wedding. She made the planning process super easy and flexible. We had several check-ins scheduled as we got closer to our event, which made coordinating with her a breeze. She is very communicative and goes out of her way for her clients. With every conversation, Amanda carefully listens to your vision for the day and is open to chatting through logistics so that things run smoothly. She takes it upon herself to get to know you via video chat and social media in order to inform her art on your special day. She is also very easy to get along with and has the ability to stay calm and help calm others even in stressful situations.
One super exciting thing about Amanda is that she travels in the upper 48 for no charge to you. So, seriously, anyone in the nation can book Amanda. Amanda is based out of Atlanta, Georgia and she travelled to Boston for our wedding. She also arrives to your location with plenty of time for her to check out the locations for photos the day before your big day. My wife and I felt at ease and in the hands of a true artist with a plan on our day. We scheduled a “first look” prior to our ceremony and it flew by. I absolutely dread having my picture taken or being the center of attention, yet Amanda was able to make both of us feel relaxed in front of the camera and made the time feel fun, playful, and just wonderful--everything you would want from a photographer on your big day.
One thing that we really appreciated was Amanda’s ability to capture our unique ceremony. We had a total of 25 guests at our wedding. Having theatre backgrounds, my wife and I decided to stage our ceremony in the round (i.e. everyone stood in a circle around us). You could imagine that this might be challenging to photograph and capture fully. However, you would never know that it was a challenge from Amanda’s ability to photograph it. Both my wife and I didn’t even know where she was during most of it and seeing the photos afterwards, we were absolutely blown away. Some of our favorite pictures actually came out of little moments from our ceremony.
Another thing about Amanda is that she brings her authenticity to her art and what she captures on your day. She captured moments throughout our day that were not posed or planned and they are absolutely stunning. She was able to capture our love in ways weren’t expecting.
After our wedding, we received our photos in a timely manner-- actually, much faster than we were expecting! Amanda works fast and the impressive part about that is the quality of what she delivers does not suffer. In the short time that we were waiting for our gallery, Amanda kindly provided us with little sneak peeks… and, of course, with each one we couldn’t wait to see the rest. She truly captured our day and our love perfectly. We are absolutely thrilled with our photos.
We would 100% hands down refer anyone we know to hire Amanda as their wedding photographer. She delivers on so many levels and continues to deliver to this day. If we were to ever need another photographer for an event, we would hire Amanda in a heartbeat. -
Sj Sent on 11/26/2017Meeting Amanda was more than meeting one of the best vendors on our wedding day. When we met Amanda we walked away with a lifelong friend. She is truly amazing. Not only did we never see her because she's like a ninja, but she kept us calm. When you work with Amanda be prepared to laugh until you cry. She is literally the best. If you're looking for someone to add value to your event from beginning to end book her! No seriously, like now! She did two shoots with us before our wedding day and worked hard to get us our wedding pictures quickly. She doesn't do the normal point and shoot photos, she likes to catch you in your purest moments. That's what we love the most about her when we look at our photos all we see is love.

User2575979 Sent on 04/13/2016I can't say enough good things about Amanda and the experience we had working with her in the time before, during, and after our wedding. She was professional yet personable, flexible in terms of her packaging to help us get exactly what we wanted, timely with her communication, and her photographs speak for themselves in terms of beauty and storytelling. She was also just super fun to be around. My husband and I found it hard to believe that she got such incredible shots because of how little we actually saw her - she blended in so easily and was a natural part of the entire day. Amanda is someone who you can really trust to tell the story of your day in a way that captures all of the feelings you felt, even days, weeks and months after.
If you are debating whether or not to get an album... GET THE ALBUM. It is a work of art in itself and is more than worth the cost. Ours highly exceeded all expectations we had in terms of layout and quality. Jessica was as rockstar to work with in pulling it all together and was quick to offer advice or answer questions if we had any.
I recommend Amanda to all of my friends who are looking for wedding photographers. We will treasure her work for years and years to come. -
User2199459 Sent on 06/27/2015Amanda is not only a wonderful photographer, but also an extraordinary person. Her kindness and humor will bring a sense of calm to your wedding day. She was a pleasure to work with and our photos are beyond our expectations! She was very communicative, she was sure to capture all the photos that mattered most to us, she was a joy to be around, and she worked her butt of running around and being EVERYWHERE to take the most incredible pictures. She captured every moment, but was not intrusive in any way. She was great at directing us to take photos, but would capture our silly and candid moments as well. Needless to say, we love Amanda and her photos! Hiring her was the first thing we did in the wedding planning process (2 years early!) and we are so happy with that decision. You won't regret using Amanda Summerlin as your photographer! Wedding photos are one of the only things you will have long-term from your special day. The memories and details will fade, but the pictures are will always be there! It is worth the investment to ensure you have a wonderful wedding photographer! -
User1913018 Sent on 11/09/2014Amanda was AMAZING! I love every single photo she took and I am so happy with the finished product. It did take us a while to get the photos back, but they were so high quality that I was not upset with the wait period. She does truly great work. Especially with my husband who hates being photographed, she was able to get him to laugh and have fun with it. DEFINITELY recommend.
