    Historic Manor Old Town Warrenton

Wonderful wedding and the entire staff covered all details. The lower level has fireplaces in all the lower level rooms. We enjoyed the bridal room and rented several room for two nights and they are very nice. We look forward to coming back to the Manor for my parents anniversary event.

    Alwyngton Manor

Wonderful Manor and the owner was on site and she helped with the entire event. Sherry was extremely organized and we opted to not hit a coordinator and we had a complete stress free day. The staff was marvelous and we used the in house caterer and was delicious. The rooms for guests are very nice and the brides room is very large to get ready in with a floor to ceiling mirror. We highly recommend Alwyngton Manor. We had 100 guests with all equipment and supplies and we supplied our own alcohol and with a full dinner menu with appetizers and chocolate dipped strawberries and amazing staff was extremely reasonable.

My husband and I were very pleased with Alwyngton Manor. The bridal party enjoyed the large dressing area to get ready in prior to the ceremony. The entire staff throughout the day was very accommodating. We had an issue with the caterer we hired a week prior and the Manors in house caterer pulled off the entire menu for 180 guest with a week notice. The food was excellent and we saved money and highly recommend the in house caterer. The location was perfect for our out of town guest with many places for our guest to go and stay. Thank you Alwyngton Manor!

Sherry Worsham helped us coordinate our event without any extra fees and she was a dream to work with. She responded quickly to every question including my inane bridal worries, presented all kinds of great options, and was so kind every step of the way. Alwyngton Manor is beautiful and easy for all your guests to have a ceremony and reception all in one place if you want. Minimal extra decorations are needed, place speaks for itself, and their packages include a ton of things you would have to buy or rent separately elsewhere. So glad we had our wedding here!

Alwyngton Manor was the best venue a couple could ask for to host their wedding. Sherry was always available to answer any and all questions we had and incredibly accommodating. Not only was the venue itself beautiful, but the decorations, lighting, and setup is included for you. There are so many things I just didn't have to worry about that I know several of my friends have had to in their recent weddings. The pricing is extremely affordable. The weather was a tad chilly and the manor has fireplaces in all the rooms and really set the ambiance. I can not tell you how many compliments and comments we got about the venue. It was a dream come true and a real wedding stress reducer. THANK YOU ALWYNGTON MANOR and SHERRY.

What an amazing venue. We were nervous having our wedding outside in November with our guest count. In case of bad weather, they have a great indoor option as well and the ceremony was stunning and we had 200 guest. After the ceremony, our guests made their way into the large ballrooms and we also used the front of the Manor and worked out lovely. Sherry was great to work with from the time we first met her and for the entire wedding. Sherry has a ton of experience and her personality ensured we would have a great wedding.

Our niece was married at Alwyngton Manor on May 17th 2014. We pulled in the Manor driveway was elegant and beautiful roses and large trees over hanging the property. The ceremony was held in a traditional rose garden with a lovely natural spring with fresh water lily's and koi... The event coordinator and owner of the Manor Sherry was excellent and the day was perfect. Out of all the ceremonies and receptions my husband and I have attended this by far was the one we will remember. The Manor also has a ton of history and she has a lady sit at the front to greet guest and check on things at all times and knows the history of the Manor....

My daughter was married on Saturday, October 12, 2013, a spur of the moment Civil Ceremony wedding. 10-18 people. Planning began in Rose Garden, but with all the rain for days on end, my sister made a call to Sherry the day before and asked if we can move our wedding ceremony- and small reception- which was planned at our home outside-- inside. Sherry was amazing, yes, was our answer and our daughter had the most beautiful wedding and reception. Sherry was extremely accommodating, patient and wonderfully pleasant even though she herself was dealing with water leaks in basement, due to the torrential downpours.

Alyngton Manor is a beautiful site to have your wedding at. The new owner Sherry Harlow is wonderful to work with and makes wedding planning very simple (she thought of things I didn't even think to ask of). My wedding last week, June 25th, was everything I ever wanted my wedding to be. If you are looking for not the usual country club type of wedding and want an elegant garden type wedding style then this is deifinitly the place!!! Sherry has made Alwyngton even more beautiful with added lighting to the reception area, new decor inside and fresh flowers all around the grounds. If you have any questions please send me a message and I would be happy to speak with you!

If you want to really relax and enjoy YOUR day, then Alwyngton is the place for you! My parents, guests and wedding party were all impressed with the smoothness of the day and the manner in which everything was managed. We didn't have to worry about a thing, Beebe kept us on track and kept our event flowing smoothly from start to finish. We were so happy with the way everything turned out, and would highly recommend Alwyngton. It is a beautiful site with a professional and dedicated staff. We had a beautiful and stress-free day, thank you Alwyngton!

What a great vendor. They provided us with great food. Sandy, the head of catering, told us to not even bother with a day of coordinator. We didn't, and she came through. Telling everyone where to go and what to do, and setting up decorations. It was a great load off of our minds.

Sherry Harlow did an amazing job laying out the Manor that would be conducive for a me dium sized wedding. She spent a lot of time organizing the rooms for the event and was extremely flexible with the setup of the event. I received many compliments on the hor d'oeuvres and service provided at the manor.

We held our wedding at Alwyngton Manor, a GORGEOUS 1855 home out in Warrenton VA, the grounds are amazing. Corey runs the venue now and he is awesome to work with, guy is incredibly chill and accommodates whatever you need, his staff are awesome, his bartenders are great. He offers great value in a time where the economy is tough but folks still want to have a special day. The food offered there is fantastic, everyone complimented it. The man knows how to run an event. Our wedding was made extra special because of the effort of Corey and everyone at Alwyngton Manor.

If you want a place with a beautiful warm feeling to it, friendly service, great food AND a very reasonable price...don't go any further book at the Heart In Hand Restaurant in Clifton, VA

We had our wedding there in October of 2008 and I cannot tell you how beautiful the Heart in Hand was decorated. You absolutely do not need anything to dress this place up. It is all done for you! It matched our colors beautifully!

We had MANY compliments on the food and friendliness of the staff and the warmth of the restaurant and it's decorations, it was perfect for our style. It is a unique venue, if you have a large group like we did (142 people) you will need to use the tented terrace in the back and the 2 other rooms, but every room is unique and special. The staff was fantastic, they even met the wedding party at the door before we were announced to ask if they could get us something from the bar while we waited! They were lovely!!

We felt the responsivness to our emails was exceptional. We did meet with the manager at our taste-testing and did everything else by email and that seemed to work out fine with our busy schedules. They were receptive to changing things they way we wanted to do things (like having the cake cutting before the dinner so that we could have it served for dessert). They also set the tables the way we wanted with our favors and a special type of napkin folding.

We were able to get just a wine and beer open bar which kept our guests happy and our pocketbooks too!

This place books early - we booked in August of 2007 for an October 2008 wedding and it was the ONLY date left.

    Check this place out TODAY!!

Alwyngton Manor was an AMAZING place for our wedding! The garden was a great setting for the outdoor ceremony, and we loved not having to pay for any ceremony arrangements. The manor itself is so beautiful that we saved a lot of money on flowers. We were able to incorporates pictures of our family throughout the first floor of the manor for guests to look at during the reception. Overall, the wedding was perfect!

I absolutely love this place!! It's a huge mansion with a very large front yard surrounded by 200 year old trees, giving you privacy and shade for your outdoor wedding. My wedding was held in the rose garden (and all the roses had bloomed). Beebee Belmore was the day-of wedding coordinator and ran the show, getting all the vendors in place so that everything happened on time. One of the pluses was that Alwyngton provided a vendor list for caterors, photography, officiants, djs, and even a horse drawn carriage, to use that had worked on Alwyngton weddings for years! Everybody knew what they were doing, everyone was on time, so I (the bride) didn't have to think about a thing...other than being present in my perfect dream wedding to my college sweetheart :0)

If you want a worry-free wedding, do it here. They provide a vendor list, which they strongly recommend you follow, and for good reason. The people recommended are professionals and have worked there many times. Therefore, they know what to do and where to go. The lady who owns the place also does the wedding planning, you don't have to worry about anything. You have to be laid back though, you are on a strict schedule, and basically follow what they say, when they say to do it. It is on the extreme side of following a schedule, but WAY better than a place where nobody is in charge, and there is no organization. I was able to enjoy my wedding and reception instead of worrying that things would go right.

Heart in Hand is an adorable venue, with reasonable prices and amazing food. They have a tented terrace, with a beautiful tent liner and nice lighting, which was great. The cost for the terrace is a $4,000 minimum, but with 65 guests, you can easily reach that amount. Our photographer said it was the best wedding food she'd ever had. The staff on the day of the event was great, they have some really cute built in decorations that went hand in hand with the ones we provided (they have a big white, wrought iron arbor in the shape of a heart, some flower boxes, and other cute details). They provided the wedding cake which was a white chocolate mousse (basically our only choice) but was fabulous. They also provided chocolate covered strawberries which I've had before, but these were the best. chocolate covered strawberries. ever.

Our biggest problem was dealing with the wedding coordinator. She was available on email, and responded fairly quickly, but she never answered our questions, especially when it came to pricing. Instead she would write nonsequiturs. When I asked how much it would cost to extend the reception for one hour, she wrote "Yes, I have you down from 5-9." She gave us a price for guests up to 65, but we had to ask her about 5 times how much each guest would cost over 65. We finally got an answer. We ended up with 72 adults, and 3 kids. She told us the price for kids was $20/child, and then raised it to $25 closer to the wedding, despite my forwarding on to her the email she wrote quoting $20/child. She refused to offer it for $20 at that point, which was ridiculous since it was only a $15 discount, and she'd be keeping her word. We paid for champagne, but because the coordinator's notes were scattered, they served sparkling cider. We had two price quotes - one for champagne and one without, so we knew how much the champagne toast would cost. It was $200, however, they only refunded $90, and when I complained, the wedding coordinator said that she gave me a half hour more of free drinks than I paid for, so she did not refund the $110 difference, and I am still not sure what she said is true. The biggest headache was dealing with the coordinator, and it's definitely something you should consider. I would definitely eat at the restaurant again, but I would not throw a large party there again.

Alwyngton is a beautiful place to get married. Our pictures from the Rose Garden were wonderful. It is a great value for your money.

Our overall experience with Alwyngton was good. Beebe, the owner of the house, can be overbearing and likes things to go her way. That being said, she has done over 500 weddings, so she has quite a bit of experience with what works and what doesn't. If you one who needs to control every aspect of your wedding day, then I would not suggest Alwyngton. If you are willing to go with Beebe's reccomendations, are able to leave things in her hands, then I would highly suggest it and you will have a wonderful wedding.

The venue was beautiful. We had our ceremony in the outdoor garden, and our reception on the porch. We also used their in house cateroring. The food was fantastic. My day ran very smoothly even though the weather was an issue. The only drawbacks were some of the services. The bar staff was under-informed. For the first hour they were telling all of the guests that there was no beer. We had dropped it off the night before, and it was all set up and ready to go. Once that was cleared up the bar staff was great. Sherry was very willing to answer any questions and was very helpful in person. But it was very difficult to communicate with her electronically and over the telephone and we had quite a few moments of confusion because of this. I would reccommend this venue to a friend, with the warning to be very clear with what you want, and know that communication can sometimes be an issue.

The venue is gorgeous. However, my advice would be to hire a professional wedding planner as Sherry is extremely unorganized and unprofessional.

Sherry is very sweet, but she is incredibly unorganized and charges an exorbitant amount for the services offered. She essentially lets you use the manor and that's it. You have to provide everything else (linens, decorations, napkins, glassware, etc.). Sherry is also unprofessional in that she sets up dates and times to meet at the manor, then she isn't there or forgets. She is slow to respond to emails and phone calls.
Her door lady is also very rude to guests and was rude to my husband and I as we tried to enter the manor after pictures (my train was long and he had to help me go inside; she yelled at us to shut the door before we were halfway in).
The venue itself is gorgeous and the wedding went off without a hitch, but I wouldn't recommend this venue if you are looking for organization and communication from the vendor.

If you are considering getting married at Alwyngton you will be pleased with the location and the ability to have your wedding at an indoor/outdoor, private facility. In that sense it is a very good value for your money.
Otherwise, Sherry will promise the world and deliver little. Guests commented on the abrupt nature in her handling of the day; my guests felt rushed while they were dining.
I asked Sherry if I needed to have a friend or family member assist in coordinating the day and she told me she would handle everything. I was literally interrupted by Sherry and her recommended vendors throughout my wedding asking about timing of the first dance, last dance, speeches, etc.
The wedding officiant she recommended appeared to be intoxicated. Our guests found this amusing but he forgot names midway through the 10 minute ceremony. This was maddening but most of all sad.
A lot of the alcohol was not drunk during the ceremony but mysteriously disappeared.
Sherry said we could stop by the following morning to pick up the bouquet, party favors, and a few miscellaneous items. She told us what time she would be available and we showed up only to find the house locked - items not retrieved because we were leaving on our honeymoon.
I needed to ask Sherry a question the day of the wedding and she was not answering her phone until 90 minutes before the ceremony.
AND THE LAST ITEM - WE NEVER RECEIVED AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT. WE HAD TO GIVE SHERRY MONEY AHEAD OF TIME FOR ALL ANTICIPATED EXPENSES BUT I WAS FAIRLY CERTAIN WE WERE DUE A REFUND OF $750-$1,000. I FINALLY GOT SHERRY TO RETURN A CALL AND SHE TOLD ME IT 'JUST WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN'. SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT.
My marriage is wonderful but within months of getting married I was planning on a celebratory ceremony so build the memories that did not occur due to Sherry's handling on our special day.

Do NOT book at this venue. Sherry will NOT return your calls. When she does, she gets defensive and snaps at you. The venue is lovely, but Sherry is a nightmare.

Corey Harlow has finally been removed and is a disgrace to the Manor. The Worsham family started the business and his ex wife Sherry is wonderful.
Finally he is out of the the Manor..

I began looking at this venue in Nov. 2014 and immediately fell in love with this beautiful manor for my wedding day. In the beginning, Sherry seemed to be extremely helpful, accommodating and semi organized. She offered me a "full package deal" and told me "I have everything" so the price that she quoted me would include tables, plates, glassware, chivari chairs, silverware and 4 staff member to help for the day of the wedding. So, I signed the contract. however, the closer we got to that day, the less helpful and more complicated she became. One week before the wedding she told me that I would need to rent stemware because none of hers matched. Then, she didn't have enough chivari chairs so she would have to charge me $5 a chair to borrow from a friend. We had agreed upon her letting us come to begin to decorate the day before the wedding, however, we arrived to find the house locked up and Sherry not at the manor. We called her cell phone but no answers. Then, she finally shows up drunk with her boyfriend, Matt, the guy that helps her run the manor. (extremely unprofessional!)
In the beginning, I pointed out that the manor was a bit dirty (cobb webs + dead bugs were everywhere) so she told me that she has professional cleaners come in the day before the event. however, when we arrived to decorate the day before everything was still filthy. Needless to say, the manor was never cleaned and my guests commented on it.
The day of the wedding, they were showing the manor to potential customers during my cocktail hr! We caught her and her boyfriend drinking our liquor + eating our food. Several thing had mysteriously gone missing through the evening which we later found hidden in random places. Once 9pm, Matt threatened to start stacking chairs while my guests we still sitting and dancing.
She will try to scam you while doing the receipt, try to tax after gratuity!
It saddens me to see such a beautiful venue fall into the hands of such terrible management.
