We really enjoyed working with Ashley, and we are so grateful for all the time and care she put into our wedding to ensure it was perfect.
In the months leading up to our wedding, she answered all our random questions about logistics, etiquette and run-of-show, and she gave us great recommendations for other vendors. She also gave us some really good advice for our big day that made it extra-special.
Ashley and her team have the professional, calm vibe you want on your wedding day. My wedding dress had a bunch of wrinkles even though we had had it steamed, and Ashley steamed it by hand right before the ceremony. And apparently there was a small electrical fire at the venue during our event, but we didn't find out until the next day because everyone was cool as a cucumber.
We are so happy we hired Ashley. We received so many compliments from all of our guests, particularly about how every little detail was perfect and meaningful. Thanks Ashley!Alston Mayger Events's reply:

Ashley was AMAZING! She brought my vision to life, my reception and wedding day turned out better than I could've imagined. Her attention to detail on my table design/reception setup was superb. She was very calm, collected and organized the whole day. I didn't have to stress about a single thing the day of my wedding, because I knew she had it handled.
Prior to the wedding she helped me with so many wedding questions and had the answers for everything. She went above and beyond with referrals and fine tuning all of the little details for us.

I will admit that as an A-type personality who is used to project managing and coordinating my own events- I was hesitant to hire a wedding planner and coordinator. Additionally, given that our wedding was an LGBTQ+ wedding with 1/3 of our audience from the PRIDE community, 1/3 from Latin America and 1/3 who are Diversity, Equity and Inclusion professionals, I was hyper sensitive to ensuring that any vendors that would build a relationship with us and be a part of our big day understood the criticality of belonging that we were trying to create. Ashley pleasantly surprised me and surpassed all levels of expectations I had. She was able to navigate, collaborate and put to ease my A-type sensibilities and I was able to fully be in the moment during our Wedding Weekend.
Ashley and her team were invisible when needed, working seamlessly behind the scenes to take care of details I wasn't even thinking about, while also present and jumping in to gently navigate and keep us on track. Her energy and spirit were so well received that it helped to create a connection point between our vendors and guests that felt blended and organic as one. Whether it was hugging my husband tight to help him button up his pants, joining our dance tunnel at the end of the reception or helping to ensure we took moments for ourselves- it felt flawless, seamless and that we had a friend at our side. Exactly how a wedding should feel.
She was extremely thoughtful and detailed in helping to think of guides, best practices and nurturing vendor relationships in preparation for our wedding and our biggest cheerleader post wedding. I am sure there are plenty of polished professionals out there, but, to find it coupled with being an amazing human is harder to find. I highly recommend working with Ashley and Alston Mayger events.Alston Mayger Events's reply:

Once in a lifetime, stellar and perfect!
If Alston Mayger Events (Ashley) were a restaurant she would be MICHELIN STAR. I truly dont know where to start with this review, but if you are reading this HIRE HER. NOW. DONT WAIT. I was an unconventional bride who had a clear vision and opinion for my big day, but truly nowhere to start. I didnt "think" I needed alot of help, but quickly learned that even if you only want a small percentage of help, or a TON of help, hiring the right person is CRITICAL! I had alot of fear and doubt about having a wedding, and even more fear and doubt about finding someone to help me. I met Ashley through a PDX virtual wedding show and I set up a meeting with her shortly after. About 5 min. into our call I knew I found not only the right person for the job, but seriously someone I could see myself being friends with or have known for a long time. Ashley was precise, professional, knowledgeable and has established the most trusting, wonderful and genuine relationships with other industry professionals and vendors. Her reputation preceded her as anytime I mentioned who I was working with all the responses were extremely positive. I believe that our vendors (Ashley included) truly went the extra mile for me because of their passion for the work that they do and knowing that Ashley was managing the event—she was instrumental in every aspect of my wedding in the most invaluable way. This is a thankless job in a thankless industry, but there was never a day where Ashley fell behind, missed the mark or failed to deliver. She is results oriented, passionate, honest and dedicated! She gave me the confidence to feel truly excited for my event, the confidence to feel empowered enough to have the wedding I wanted, and the confidence that everything would be perfect…and it was. Ashley stepped up to the challenge when asked and truly delivered on a concept that was unconventional, unique and tailored to a personal vision that myself and my husband wanted. Throughout the planning process, I thought of Ashley initially as someone I “could” be friends with to someone who became my actual friend, a friend for life——a confidant, a professional partner and my north star. Ashley can do it all, no event is too small, large, budget friendly, lavish or if you’re anything like me…outlandish! She is a passionate creative mind who is as friendly and kind as she is brilliant. She is the type of business owner who can work with anyone from any walk of life, and puts her passion for inclusivity, creativity and FUN first. If you are still reading this, its important to note that Ashley’s commitment to allyship and diversity, equity and inclusion (as shown on her instagram and professional website) was a big part of my decision to hire her as well. As a bride and groom of color in an interracial relationship with vastly different cultural backgrounds and experiences, Ashley was eager to plan our multicultural soiree---Making us feel seen, comfortable and inspired in every way. Here is to the wedding planner that changed my life, made my dreams come true and proved to me that no idea is too big! I cant wait to see where Ashley’s career continues to take her, and I’m so grateful that our paths crossed. Ashley is every couple’s dream planner! Our wedding weekend in September 2022 was nothing short of perfection thanks to her incredible attention to every little detail, poise, and professionalism. Ashley planned, designed, and coordinated all three of our wedding weekend events, starting with our rehearsal dinner and welcome party which set the stage for the entire weekend. If there were any hitches, we never knew it because everything was handled by Ashley, and her organization left us to enjoy every moment without a single stressor!
It was all the extra touches she provided to us and our families that make her stand out above the rest! She hand delivered a Manhattan
to my mother during cocktail hour because she remembered me telling her that was my mom’s favorite cocktail! This is just one example of her thoughtfulness as a planner! She effortlessly kept the events on schedule. She made sure every detail was executed flawlessly. She helped us add personalized touches throughout our weekend to make it unique to us. She recommended only the best vendors to help us put together an epic team! She was a cheerleader during every stage of our journey, number one hype girl day off, and continues to share her excitement as our photos and videos start to fill our inbox! We adore her!
Throughout the year+ of planning with Ashley, she became more than just our wedding planner, she became a dear friend that we trusted explicitly with our entire weekend! Her communication was excellent and we always felt in the loop every step of the way. She took our vision and with her expertise in design, created the most beautiful events for us and our guests to enjoy!

Ashley is one of the most thoughtful, conscientious, funny and delightful people we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. We cannot emphasize enough how seamlessly Ashley & her team brought our vision to life and executed every aspect of our rehearsal dinner and wedding day with perfection and attention to detail. Our meetings were always filled with laughter and excitement, and reassurance in the process when we needed it most. Ashley got to know us on a real level and remembered details about us that were reflected everywhere on the most special day of our lives.
When we hired Ashley we were a little over a year out from our big day and we had no idea where to begin. We felt her compassion and warmth come through our initial zoom meeting and we appreciated her commitment to being an ally and her values that align with our own. Ashley did a stunning job of helping us dive right in to curate and fine-tune what we wanted our day to look like, down to details that we hadn't even scratched the surface of, without ever making us feel overwhelmed.
As our day got closer, we unexpectedly ended up in the process of buying a house and moving while both working full time and finishing our degrees. I look back at that period of time and I honestly can't imagine how we would have navigated that level of stress without Ashley as our rock, working tirelessly behind the scenes to alleviate any pressure on us.
She helped us select 5 star vendors, built relationships with them and communicated every detail to them, and brought it all together during our wedding weekend by orchestrating everything beautifully and seamlessly. Ashley goes above and beyond to prioritize your well being and your ability to enjoy yourself as a couple, scheduling in time to have a bite to eat (it's harder than you think!) and time to spend with one another as a couple to take a breather and reflect on what getting married is all about. As others have noted here, when working with Ashley, your other vendors will continuously tell you just how amazing she is to work with, and if some kind of act-of-god incident happens on your day, you won't even know about it because she's just that damn good! You know you hired the right person when your wedding guests can't stop talking about how smoothly things are running and how jaw-dropping and stunning the space is.
As a type-A bride, I never thought that it was possible to spend our wedding day fully present and in the moment, but thanks to Alston Mayger we were in a state of bliss and relaxation all weekend without ever encountering a moment of stress. It's not often in life that you meet someone that redefines their industry by being so truly excellent at their job, but that's the level of professionalism and thoughtfulness that Ashley provides.Alston Mayger Events's reply:

Words can’t describe how integral Ashley was to our big day. Through a postponement and COVID scares, she was a rockstar and communicated with us above and beyond what was expected. She is extremely organized and understands all of the little details that are needed to bring a wedding to life. She has cultivated relationships with many Portland vendors and it shows in the execution of her weddings. She has an eye for design and details that made us feel confident handing off our planning 6 weeks out and leaving her to the nitty gritty details. All we had to do was show up to our own wedding and she took care of the rest of the details and she KILLED IT. Aside from the wedding planning and execution, Ashley truly cares for all of her couples on a human level and checks in months after the wedding is over. We cannot recommend Ashley enough!

If You want a bad ass captain for your vendor team then look no further!! Ashley was a complete dream, she took all of my extremely vague thoughts and ideas and turned them into our dream wedding day! She is always there with suggestions, from locations to other vendor referrals, she’s there to keep you on track with your vision, and is an all around wonderful human. Even when things went left on our big day Ashley remained cool, calm, and collected and stayed right by my side through the whole mess which kept me as cool as a cucumber. There really aren’t enough words but we are forever grateful and appreciative of all of the hard work she has done and would love to scream it from the mountain tops for you to hire her (and her amazing hard working pups!). Ashley is excellent! She goes above and beyond, is extremely detail oriented, and knows how to work with multiple vendors and keep the bride (myself) on task! She is is always willing to make time to take calls, listen to vendor meetings, and was fantastic at not only working with our church, country club, and lots of little kids! She made multiple trips to Portland, and stayed until the end of our reception which much to our surprise the last guests left around 12:00! Professional, helpful, expert, and fun to work with!! I truly cannot say enough good things about Ashley. We hired her for our wedding this past August and she made our vision come to life. Throughout the wedding planning process Ashley was always checking in to make sure I had everything I needed and honestly was just there for me as a bride (planning a wedding can get stressful!). She is quite possibly the most organized person I've ever met and you can see she's so passionate about what she does. I had multiple vendors tell me how on top of everything she was which made their work run that much more smoothly. The day of the wedding Ashley was not only making sure we were on time and taken care of, but she was also there to trouble shoot any issues that arose. For example, our ceremony arch actually broke a few hours prior to getting married and I didn't even know about this until the day after the wedding because it all looked so perfect! You need someone like this on your big day! Something usually happens, but having someone there to handle this for you makes all of the difference. Ashley went above and beyond and I am eternally grateful for her. If you are looking for a wedding planner, look no further, Ashley is without a doubt the best person you can hire for your big day (or any other event!).Alston Mayger Events's reply:

I’m not sure I even have the words to express just how wonderful Ashley is. But I will try!
We could not have asked for a better coordinator. Ashley seamlessly stepped in to help us after our wedding was postponed due to the pandemic and our original coordinator could no longer help us because she was moving out of state. If there is a silver lining to postponing, it was finding Alston Mayger Events.
Throughout the last year, Ashley has been so helpful and communicative as we faced dozens of challenges – losing our caterer, navigating pandemic seating and social distancing needs, vaccine requirements at the venue, trying to host a zoom ceremony. She was always so responsive, and she had excellent advice every time. And she has the BEST sense of humor.
The day of was magical. Because of all her work, we didn’t really have to think about anything except where we were on the timeline. When we arrived at the venue, everything was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The day and the event flowed perfectly. It was a dream. And my family and our other vendors could not stop talking about how amazing she was to work with.
My only advice to other couples out there is to hire Alston Mayger Events for your wedding. You will not regret it.Alston Mayger Events's reply:

Hiring Ashley as our day-of-coordinator was the best decision. Not only did she provide a calm and make me laugh during stressful moments while planning, she had great advice, and managed our rehearsal and wedding professionally for a seamless (perfect) day! On multiple occasions, Ashley went above and beyond from what I expected of her services. Every hiccup I encountered in my planning, she had a solution. Planning books and blogs all recommend that it starts with hiring the right vendors for your special day. Surrounding yourself with amazing people is so important! Ashley is just that.
