These ladies could not have been any nicer or had better Instructions. All night they snapped pics and I'm sure they caught the best moments of the day.
I know their pics will gi e us great memories to look at for years to come.

Professional and Affordable
Dodie captured my bridal portrait session and photographed our wedding. We postponed our spring wedding till late summer and she accommodated us through this transition. She does excellent work and is very easy to plan your special occasion with. Thanks Dodie! -

They were incredibly easy to work with and very reasonably priced! They were knowledgeable and really helpful in helping me prepare for our wedding day. They helped me with picture lists to make sure I didn't miss any combinations or groups of photos. They were also aware of the mood and feeling to know when they could take a few extra or when to wrap it up. I loved that they didn't feel bossy when trying to get people into place. Great experience and would highly recommend! Plus our pictures were incredible for our venue! -

Francine Sent on 04/19/2019Beautiful Wedding & Engagement Pictures, but there is a difference between a 2nd photographer and a 2nd shooter
I found Allure Wedding Photography at a bridal show over a year ago. They did our engagement and wedding pictures. All of our pictures turned out beautiful! The reason I can't give all 5 stars for this company is because I believe they showed false advertisement. When we booked with them, the package included 2 photographers. A few weeks before the wedding, when we making the timeline for the day of the wedding, I spoke to my photographer about the timeline and she said a 2nd shooter would be coming, not a 2nd photographer. Here is my issue with this, a second photographer works for a different purpose, but mainly to get a feel of what wedding photography entails. Being a second shooter really helps you to learn the ropes, and to make you feel comfortable when being the primary photographer for weddings. If a 2nd shooter is going to come vs. a 2nd photographer, advertise it as so. -

Awesome photos- not great personal experience
I will start by saying this is a very long review but it is detailed. I would recommend them to a friend with caveats. I'm sure other people have had very different experiences than mine but here is our story.
We got married in mid-April. I started my hunt for a photographer very early because I knew besides the venue, it was the most important thing. I found Allure through a bridal show and they were among a few other top picks that I had that were within budget whose photos we really liked. We ended up going with them after our top pick got booked on our date. I will start by saying the photos we got from them are amazing and the turn around time is insanely fast as far as wedding photographers go. They also really can’t be beaten on pricing and value which begs the saying “you get what you pay for” as, while the photos are awesome, it was a bit of a bumpy road getting there, experience-wise.
Our first meeting/interview before I made a decision was a little touch and go- I loved all the photos Scott was showing me but when I shared our venue and told him my bridal party and I would be getting ready at a hotel in Uptown because the venue didn’t allow access early enough he immediately refuted me and said that all his brides that get married at that venue get ready there. Eventually, my coordinator backed up my claims as well. But that was the beginning of being treated as the bride who doesn’t know anything- they are the expert, they are always right, and the bride isn’t. And that’s also kind of how it was delivered.
Our first phone call after we contracted with them left me in tears. I told him I wanted to do a first look so we could enjoy the cocktail hour and take family photos and not eat up everyone’s time. He immediately said the sunlight would not be good for taking photos at that time of day (keep in mind this is a year in advance and we have no idea what the weather will be- in April the most volatile weather month). He didn’t listen to my reasonings or deliver it in a softer “well here is my suggestion or advice but at the end of the day you’re the bride paying me and I’m really good at my job so we’ll make it work regardless” tone. He even said, “If you want any photographer to take photos, you can hire someone else”. But I held my ground and we “compromised” that any photos he felt didn’t come out because of the sunlight, we could retake during the cocktail hour. Part of me told myself I should find someone else at this point- but we really liked their photos, their pricing couldn’t be beaten, and we had already paid a deposit.
I had my bridal portraits and I felt a lot better after that- more comfortable around him and his tone changed a lot when he was in person. The bridal portraits came out amazing, although slightly crooked, something he warned me about- that he shoots crooked but then “fixes” them. That wasn’t the case for all of them.
Our second call after that though was back to the same tone. This time it was that I would be wasting time and money to have him come to the hotel where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready to take photos- so I would have to give up my dream of professional photos getting our hair and makeup done, photos on the bed in the beautiful suite I was paying for, etc. I just gave in at that point. I was tired of arguing. I decided my girls would just go to the venue in the button-downs I got for them, we’d take some photos and then I’d fake getting ready there. Again, it wasn’t the actual content of the words- it was how they were delivered. Being in the South and them from the South, this was not the Southern hospitality I was used to.
The day of the wedding went fairly smoothly. The second shooter was Dodie, his wife. It did seem a lot of the time she was very flustered and confused. She missed the invitation in my detail box which absolutely killed the detail shots that we love (and knew they did really well). Every time I see beautiful invitation shots on wedding blogs I feel a huge pang of regret. She did not stay in “control” of the groomsmen, leaving my husband to yell at them constantly to get in line and stay buttoned, etc. My husband has very sensitive eyes and all of the photos of him solo are of him squinting- we were not told that and did not get a chance to re-do them during the cocktail hour, per our initial “compromise”. When I gave her my dad and father-in-law’s gifts to her so she could give them to them and photograph them opening them, she looked at me like I had grown another head. Not sure if she felt I was treating her like my coordinator, or what, but I just did it because I wanted her to photograph their reactions like Scott had just done for the moms. It was also clear she hadn’t reviewed the shot-list prior as after the family shots she asked me about one that should have been done prior to the wedding in the getting-ready suite when we had all just been standing around.
We felt that while the photos we got are amazing, there were a lot missing, like the invite among the details, better/more photos of action shots like us coming down the aisle, our sparkler exit, him carrying me off after the Polish Wedding Dance, any of us together with my veil on that aren’t at the ceremony, photos of my bridesmaids and I walking (but there were ones of the groomsmen walking). There were no close-up shots, so many of our first dance shots have a lot of people in the background. I was also advised to make a Pinterest board of inspiration shots to share with him which I did. I feel like it wasn’t even looked at as many of them had artistic veil shots and he convinced me to not wear my veil for any of the couple portraits. We told them we didn’t want to do sunset photos after all as it was so cloudy there wasn’t a sunset. They encouraged us to do “twilight” photos even though it was almost completely dark. I didn’t find them to be worth the time away from the reception. All the dancing shots, while great, are taken with a wide-angle almost fish-lens-like lens so while there are more people in them, it’s warped and distorted on the edges and I wonder how they will look printed. I didn’t notice this on the sample albums but I could have just not been looking closely enough.
Again- for their pricing, turn-around, and quality of the photos, we are happy with the end result. However, their customer service prior to the wedding could use some softening especially with frazzled brides who are planning their entire wedding by themselves. I sent him a thank you email after the wedding- didn’t receive a “You’re Welcome”, just a note that their photo editor was on vacation and no acknowledgment of the generous tip I gave them considering they own the business. If you’re comfortable surrendering control, then they’ll be perfect. As someone who had a very clear picture in my head of what I wanted my day to be, it was a little more difficult.
