Alanna is a storyteller. Alanna sees things that photographers can only dream to see. She captures moments, expressions, emotions, and beauty! I remember saying to my husband after the wedding, wow I wonder how our day will photograph. We were so present and in the moment, we didn't have any forced photos or moments, and this is how Alanna thrives. She captured our laughter, our happiness, and our love in the most timeless and beautiful photographs I have even seen. The hard part is now selecting which ones to print!! If you are looking for a photographer who gets it, who delivers beauty, who is calm and grounded, Alanna Hogan is for you. I am honored to of had her capture our special day. Forever grateful!!!!! -

Alanna’s artistry is unbelievably special. Her presence is so peaceful, and it was a joy to have her with us on our special day. Her heart for her work was evident throughout every stage of the process, and the albums we received (both from our engagement session and wedding day) were pure magic. My husband and I are from Philadelphia, PA, and selected Tops'l Farm in Waldoboro, ME, for our wedding. It didn't feel like a destination wedding since we have family in the area and have visited many times, but when it came to selecting a photographer, we didn't have a clue. I had seen Alanna's photos on Instagram, and I loved how romantic they were -- the movement, colors, and the intimacy. When I reached out to her, I didn't think there was any way she'd have space in her schedule, but luckily she did! Alanna was super easy to communicate with and sent us a beautiful magazine of her work that had a lot of great suggestions for the wedding day. I appreciated her transparency and clear communication. In person, Alanna is much the same -- relaxed, very sweet, with great calming energy -- I didn't feel anxious or self-conscious at any point, which is the way I normally feel having my picture taken. One of the things I loved most about her style was that I barely knew she was there. I was completely in the moment without feeling like there was a beep, click, or flash. I didn't feel like I needed to pose or suck my stomach in -- I just enjoyed my wedding day! The photos that she captured really speak for themselved. They feel real, but also elevated and romantic. She perfectly captures our love and the love that was shared between our friends and family on our wedding day. She did a great job of capturing details and scenes from the wedding venue. I'm still in awe of how gorgeously she captured one of the best days of my life. I feel so lucky that we were able to have Alanna shoot our wedding! -

Alanna is an artist - best wedding photos ever!
We were so fortunate to have Alanna as our wedding photographer! Not only is she a lovely person, but she’s also an incredibly talented photographer, and we ended up with a gallery full of stunning photos from our wedding weekend. (It took a month to narrow down favorites enough for thank you cards!)
From the start, we fell in love with Alanna’s photojournalistic style and her commitment to capture our love story in a way that felt authentic and natural—rather than just following a traditional wedding shot list. She has an incredible eye, and so many of our favorite photos were candid moments we didn’t even realize were happening at the time (but she did!)
Alanna has a true talent for capturing the in-between moments—the fleeting glances, laughter, and raw emotions that bring a wedding celebration to life. Scrolling through our gallery for the first time and discovering all those unplanned, candid shots was such a sweet surprise and an absolute gift.
Beyond her talent behind the camera, Alanna is super organized and made the entire process leading up to the wedding feel far less daunting than it might have otherwise. Her calm presence and kind, down-to-earth personality were exactly what we needed during the whirlwind of planning!
We’re so grateful to have had her be a part of our wedding and to capture it (and us) so beautifully - thank you again, Alanna! -

We booked Alanna Hogan for our wedding on September 28, 2024 at the Black Point Inn. We just got our highlight gallery yesterday- just four days post wedding. We were completely awe struck at how gorgeous Alanna’s photos were. She captured such a range of different and stunning scenes- different nature settings, different weather, details, candid shots, dancing/action shots. All absolutely beautiful. As if amazing photography wasn’t enough, Alanna is such a kind, calming person to have around you on a chaotic day. She is ever relaxed, light, and such a soothing presence to have on wedding day. Thank you again Alanna- 11 out of 10 recommend 😊 -

Words cannot adequately express how grateful we are that we got to have Alanna as our wedding photographer. Since day one, she has been so genuinely kind, reliable, and easy to work with. As two people who did not have experience with professional photography, my husband and I were a bit nervous about being in front of the camera. Alanna eased our concerns and guided us throughout the entire process. It was wonderful to get to meet her initially for our engagement photos so that by the time our wedding rolled around, we already knew and were comfortable with Alanna. She photographed both our rehearsal dinner/welcome party and our wedding day, and the initial photos we have seen have blown us away. The way she captured the true joy and love of the day is extraordinary and looking at the photos feels like being back in the day again. We will treasure these photos forever and will always be grateful we got to work with Alanna Hogan. -

If you're looking for a photographer to authentically capture a special moment, look no further. Promise. I really can't say enough good things about my experience with Alanna. My now husband and I had a private ceremony and inquired with Alanna about having a post-wedding photo shoot in Maine a few days later. She was elated at the idea for our shoot, sent us a detailed questionnaire about what we wanted to capture, sent us suggestions for outfits and locations, was incredibly responsive, answered my many questions, and truly listened to what we wanted to capture during our photo shoot. Her attention to detail and fun spirit shows in her photos (which came out incredible!). During the shoot, she gave us prompts or silly things to chat about to make the photos feel more natural and candid (which was exactly what we wanted!). We had such a blast during the shoot and it is so clear Alanna loves what she does. Not to mention, the photos came out beautiful, better than we could have ever imagined! We got our highlight gallery mere days later and all around had an awesome experience. Thank you, Alanna! -

Best wedding photographer!!
Alanna was absolutely amazing!!!!! Our photos are truly stunning and taking photos with her was a lovely experience. She also made the absolute most of our beautiful venue, which included timing of photos with the tide changes! We also chose not to have a wedding planner or coordinator, and she was extremely helpful in talking us through timeline of our day and moving us along at various points throughout our big day. She was also flexible and responsive throughout the whole process. Highly highly recommend Alanna, she is the best! -

Amazing, 10000/10
As soon as I saw Alanna's work for the first time, I knew I loved her photography style and wanted her as our wedding and engagement photographer. She is organized, timely and professional all while keeping the process exciting. She is down to get creative as well, during our engagement shoot we went in the ocean!! Alanna CREATES A STORY through photography, that is my favorite quality about her. Looking through the albums, every special moment was captured.. it is like reliving the moments through snap shots. Her style is timeless and authentic, her editing is immaculate and classic. Her shots are Vogue-worthy! She has a really great way of making her clients feel comfortable in front of the camera and really captures each moment perfectly. It rained intermittently on our wedding day and she made it look so romantically moody, right out of a Nicholas Sparks book! Alanna is amazing. Patient, kind, talented, creative… all the qualities you’d want in a wedding photographer. I know this is just the beginning for her. If you’re looking for a photographer who will capture timeless, quality, beautiful, moody, editorial images (although she can capture ANY style)… Alanna is your girl. I cannot wait to work with her again in the future!

You won’t find better than Alanna
You guys… do yourself a favor and book Alanna as your photographer immediately!! This. Very. Second. I mean it. Do it now before it’s too late!!! Alanna is top tier, number one, the absolute best of the best! We were lucky enough to stumble upon her work on IG and after a mere couple of minutes on a phone consultation with her, we knew she was the one. She took our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and trust me, everything she touches is pure magic. She loves what she does, and she is able to capture the raw, real, beautiful moments better than anyone I’ve ever seen. And isn’t that what we want as brides? The stunning candid shots that bring us right back to that very moment with our loved one, whenever we look at the photo? She is also incredibly sweet, professional, caring, punctual, creative, and I truly feel like she is now family. I hope you are fortunate enough to work with Alanna, because you’ll be able to feel how I feel right now :) and it’s the BEST. -

Amazing experience!
Alanna was fantastic to work with. My husband and I got married last year, but we pushed our reception to 2022. Alanna helped us capture amazing moments from our party, including some great photos of the two of us beforehand, plus many incredible dance floor snapshots :)
We absolutely loved her style, ability to capture our personalities, and her eye for the perfect backdrop. Nothing ever felt “posed”, and she made us feel super comfortable. We were so so happy with the final results and would highly recommend working with Alanna! -

Where do I start? Alanna is a force to be reckoned with. She is AMAZING at what she does. First and foremost, above all her amazing skills, she is super helpful. My husband and I hired Alanna as our elopement photographer, and she was super supportive from the planning stage to when her pictures of us got us featured on Brides.com. She has a way with her words that make you imagine the feelings you had when you reached every important milestone with your loved one that brought you to the big day. Lastly, she produces artistic photos yet captures the intimacy you might not be open to showcasing in public! As are most couples, my husband and I are lovey-dovey and intimate behind closed doors. However, when we took our engagement pictures with a different photographer - that intimacy did not come out one bit. It was awkward, and that's because the photographer didn't do what Alanna does so well. You'll leave with an album of beautiful pictures in a great online gallery that you can download from, buy prints from, and other cool things. I cannot express enough how awesome she is and how you should ABSOLUTELY consider her for your next intimate photoshoot. -

Alanna is an incredibly talented photographer. From our first phone call, I knew that she would be the photographer for our special day. I have never been one to be super comfortable in front of a camera and I made that very known. Thankfully she includes an engagement shoot as part of some of her wedding packages, and that’s what we chose. I am so happy we did this. Not only do I have unforgettable and just downright beautiful photos as a result, but we learned Alanna’s flow and how easy it could be. She helped us in prompting different poses and ways to achieve a natural and more relaxed look. Our wedding day was no exception. I am continuously blown away at the moments and emotions she captured in our photos. Our wedding pictures turned out amazing! If you want a professional, talented, sweet, friendly photographer that will make you feel like the photography part of your wedding is taken care of and it’s ONE thing you don’t have to worry about- then I would highly recommend Alanna to anyone looking for a photographer for wedding, engagement, or even just a romantic moment together. Working with Alanna was hands down one of the best decisions that we made when planning our wedding. She is patient, responsive and extremely helpful - she worked with us throughout the entire process on the timeline, the logistics, and even customized a package for us to make sure we could get the photos we wanted within our budget.
But most of all, Alanna delivers absolutely MAGICAL photos. We were surprised with a tropical storm the day of our wedding and I was worried all day that it would ruin our photos since we had planned to take them outside on the grounds. Alanna not only got completely soaked (with a smile), but also captured beautiful photos that somehow made the torrential downpour look like it is sparkling. We also snuck away for a quick sunset session along the water when the rain stopped and her pictures absolutely blew our mind. We can't even pick favorites to print because we love them all.
Her style is more photojournalistic and we loved the fact that the photos don't look posed and she has a knack for capturing everyone's personalities in the frame. Alanna loves love, and it shines through in all of her work - we can't recommend her enough!

Works are not enough to describe Alanna's caring nature and true talent in her field. She is so helpful and quick to answer questions. When we had to re-route and postpone she was there to work through it with us as well! Our photos are just breathtaking - my mother is still crying and looks at them every day :) -

We Couldn't Have Dreamed For Better!
We had initially booked our wedding for September 5th in Portsmouth, NH. We've lived in several states around the country, so we had people coming in from all over -- including our original photographer. When we decided to postpone our ceremony until 2021 and do an intimate backyard ceremony with only our parents, we knew we still wanted photos. Our wedding coordinator told us about Alanna -- AND WE COULD NOT BE MORE GRATEFUL. Alanna was sweet, kind, and attentive from the beginning. Our parents are all older so we were very concerned about Covid exposure, and Alanna could not have been more understanding. The pictures were beyond our wildest dreams. The delivery was prompt and easy enough that even our parents could figure out how to view the pictures. If you are considering booking Alanna, do it now and do not look back. -

Creative, Passionate, Professional!
We chose Alanna as a photographer because her style captured the uniqueness of the couples and families she worked with, complimented beautifully by the power of the natural world. We were thrilled to find that her personality and professionalism was on par with her style: Alanna was extremely communicative with us, thoughtful and flexible, and best of all she demonstrated palpable passion and curiosity around our relationship and values that allowed her to capture the most meaningful aspects of our relationship and our wedding day. Taking care of logistics and payment was extremely easy and straight forward through her online portal and our wedding gallery was delivered to us very quickly! We loved how supportive Alanna was from the very beginning. The engagement photo session was a wonderful trial run and a really nice way to get to know Alanna before the madness. She has a great system and stayed in touch with lots of answers to our questions.
