    Bat Mitzvah planning

    Anita is an absolute pleasure to work with - she is organized, creative, patient, easy going and fun!
    We used A STARR Events for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah and quickly realized that we wouldn't have fared well without Anita. From big items, such as recommending and coordinating other vendors, to small details, such as creating thank you notes/party favors , Anita went far and beyond.
    Anita is very professional - she quickly responds to texts and emails, on time, always considerate of costs, willing and ready to help anyway she can. I'd also like to highlight that Anita is easy going and personable. When at the very last moment, literally two days before the party, my husband decided to get a DJ, she was very understanding and just went with the flow.
    I'd recommend her without hesitation for events big and small.

    Crucial & Absolutely Phenomenal

    Anita was an extremely important addition to our wedding day.
    She went above and beyond not only the day of, but leading up to the event as well. I can't tell you how much she saved us during times of chaos and held a positive and professional attitude when things became stressful for everyone else.
    I would definitely recommend her to my closest family and friends.

    Her punctuality, professionalism, organization, and decor skills are only a handful of reasons why you should hire her, even for day of success.
    You just simply don't see people with a work ethic like hers anymore.

    Fantastic Wedding Coordinator!

    I had the pleasure of working with Anita recently and she was amazing! She made sure I was prepared and knew everything that was going on throughout the day!     A.Starr Events made the wedding day a shinning success

    A.STARR Events coordinated my Son's wedding this past weekend. I did not have much of a chance to work with her prior to the event as she worked with my son and now daughter in law but Anita was with us the day prior to the wedding and the day of the wedding. Prior to the wedding she sent out a 15 page guide to the wedding including Vendors, Wedding party contacts, a timeline for the day of the wedding, schedule for photographer, details of the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. no detail was overlooked. She came the day before the wedding for the rehearsal and solved minor problems and answered all of our questions.

    It's my job to organize each part of the day throughout the pre-planning process and also on the "day off" to ensure our planning comes to life.

    Parents are sometimes not privy to the planning process so that's why I share my wedding workbook with them. It pleases me that you found it comforting to get a visual of how your son's wedding day would progress...

    Outstanding Wedding Planner: Kind, Professional, & Attentive

    Anita was a phenomenal wedding planner. From start to finish, she was supportive every step of the way. She has excellent resources that she provides brides with- I opted to do a partial plan since our wedding was on the smaller side and she provided excellent advice and tips on booking vendors, making invitations, etc. Anita met with me at my venue on multiple occasions so that we could really make sure my vision came to life. I felt supported and at ease in my planning process because I knew I had her support. She also connected me with the BEST vendors. She truly knows the best people in the business and has amazing relationships with them. Another thing that really stood out to me about Anita is her warmth; she really and truly wants you and your significant other to have the best day possible. I can't even begin to explain how valuable her presence was during the wedding weekend itself. She provided excellent advice and assistance at the rehearsal and made sure that all of the furniture and heaters that were dropped off at the venue arrived safely (she also got me a discount on the furniture rental!) On the day of my wedding she took control of everything with the vendors and the hotel. I was able to get ready and enjoy myself instead of worrying about vendor coordination, timelines, etc. She also made an effort to really get to know my husband and I throughout the process and helped me come up with little ideas to highlight aspects of our cultures at the reception. I've attended 14 weddings between 2022-2023 including my own, and I've been a bridesmaid in 6 of those weddings. I have really been able to see different styles of wedding planners and what it's like to work with a planner through my friends, and I can say with the utmost confidence that Anita is the best of the best!

    Absolutely Perfect

    A Starr did flowers for my wedding. Flowers were completed on time and were exactly what I wanted!! Got so many compliments on how gorgeous they were, I would highly recommend!!

    The best in the business!

    If you're looking for your day-of coordinator, look no further!!! Anita is a master at her skillset and amazing with clients and guests.
    Also being in the industry, I've had the opportunity to work with different coordinators at different venues and I have not found a more detail oriented person than Anita. I can't speak more highly of her work. I honestly can't wait for the next opportunity we have to work together again soon!

    #1 wedding coordinator!

    If you're looking for a wedding planner....your search ends here. My husband and I were married in August this year and as much as I wanted to do everything on my own, things quickly became overwhelming. That's when I found Anita and she was an absolute lifesaver. Anita went up and beyond with absolutely everything. We had a terrible time with our venue coordinators coming and going within a few months of the wedding and Anita was the only constant through it all. As upset as I was getting with the venue, she was always calm and collected, and was the absolute best communicator. I have a type-A personality and her organization of the wedding day plans and rehearsal were amazing. She was always open to emails/texts/calls. She had recommendations and was never pushy with her opinion or advice. Her pricing is definitely reasonable and she has a few different planning options based on your needs. She checked in when appropriate and made sure things were going along with the schedule. On the rehearsal night, Anita was there on time and got my ginormous wedding party in line quickly! On the wedding day, Anita was everywhere. She had all our decorations in place exactly how I wanted them, and the entire day went flawlessly. I had so many family members and friends comment on how Anita was on top of everything the entire night. We didn't even have to worry about cleaning up, all of our stuff was packaged up and put away safely.
    If you can't tell, we would absolutely recommend Anita for any event and are grateful for the work she put into our wedding!

    Best decision!

    There is not enough compliments in the world to describe Anita / A Starr wedding planning.
    Anita is hands down the best decision I made when planning my wedding. From day 1, she made me feel comfortable and confident and secure that my dream wedding would become a reality! She is organized and professional and sweet and reliable and one of the hardest workers I know! My entire wedding weekend was flawless because of her expertise and guidance and creativity!

    Every event needs an Anita Starr

    I cannot stop thinking about how amazing our wedding day went a few days ago. I came to Anita near the end of my wedding planning when I began noticing some gray areas in my, what I thought, flawless game plan. I knew that gray areas would be a big question mark and risk come the day of, and did not want any surprises or inconveniences to us or our friends & families on the day of. We wanted to soak in the moments and enjoy the day. That’s when Anita was recommended to me.

    Our wedding was not too far away, so I was surprised that Anita was available that weekend (a miracle that was meant to be!) She jumped into action and met me at the venue (which was quite a drive away from her) where she collected all the details and stomp stomp stomped on any tiny fire that was waiting to set our wedding ablaze. I thought I was organized.. but that day I was watching her in action in awe. I was literally like WHOA. All the stress I was feeling was immediately swept away and I could just finally breathe.

    Anita shortly after sent me documents/checklists to make sure I was on track, given the wedding was coming up soon, and we slowly ticked away at the details. Her documents really helped streamline my plans from simply a vision to actual reality. On our final review she fine tuned the schedule and details with me over the phone and communicated with each of our vendors, MOH and best man.

    All the while Anita was professional, respectful, knowledgeable, reliable, and very down to earth. I think I fell in love with her a little! Lol. My husband loved her and so did all of my other vendors. It really couldn't have gotten any better than that.

    Finally, the wedding came. Napkins were tied flawlessly, tables arranged beautifully, signs were up with their decorative flair carefully placed…the room looked amazing. Whenever we needed something, Anita used her wedding spidey-sense, and was right there by our side. Checking in multiple times throughout the night. Helping when my bustle broke. Keeping us fed and hydrated. Coordinating with the dj and banquet manager behind the scenes. Making sure we stay on schedule…All. Of. The. Things.

    To sum everything up, if you want peace of mind, to simply enjoy your wedding day, dance, eat, and just be in the moment with your partner, family & friends…Anita is the one!!

    Wedding Planner - Best Decision Ever!

    We brought Anita into the planning process after we had already selected and begun to work with several vendors. We realized that the weekend of wedding events at three locations needed some professional attention. With her exceptional organizational skills, relationships with vendors, and experience, Anita was able to coordinate all the vendors and guide us through various decisions/to dos (shot list for the photographer, timelines, announcements, family style vs plated dinner, etc.). Additionally, Anita made several suggestions (gold shantung napkins and black backdrop for the “altar”) which elevated our vision of simple elegant affair to the next level.

    When we met with Anita, we always felt like we were her only clients and that her focus was on us alone. She was very responsive when we emailed or called her.

    The day of the events, we were able to be present and enjoy our guests and the celebration because Anita was orchestrating the vendors/details, keeping us on time and never rushed.

    For the wedding, the weather was incredible (which is not always the case on Monterey Peninsula); I’m not sure but Anita may have had a hand in this too. The only thing we would have done differently was to get Anita involved earlier in the process

    Most incredible and passionate wedding planner!

    Anita is everything and anything you will ever need and so much more! Words cannot describe what an absolute pleasure it was to work with her for our wedding and just how far she exceeded our expectations of being our right hand woman!

    My now husband and I were in search of a wedding coordinator for the month of for our wedding (however, she does offer a variety of packages). We first started working with Anita about 6 months prior to the wedding and have spent that time getting to know each other and discussing wedding ideas/plans. I laugh now because I remember telling her that my mom has already helped to plan and organize our wedding/vendors and that she shouldn’t have to do much but boy was I wrong! (No offense to my mom who is perfect and wonderful and beyond helpful) but wow was I naive at the time about the amount of planning it took not only leading up to the event, but also, the day of.

    From the very beginning to the very end, Anita was truly one of the most wonderful and essential people we got to work with. She listened to everything my husband and I wanted and made sure that that came through on our wedding day. She also was always willing to offer helpful ideas and suggestions such as how to organize names for a seating chart for a large wedding, had the INCREDIBLE idea of having a black jack and roulette table at our wedding after hearing us say we didn’t want a photo booth, and truly just made sure the day went so effortless and smooth.

    The whole wedding day turned out truly spectacular. Anita, along with her assistant made sure everything was set up to a tee of what we described and also kept the flow the entire night. By the time the wedding was over she had already organized and loaded all of the things we brought to our wedding and put them back even better than the way we gave them to her. It took all of the mind work and stress out of it for Alec and I and truly allowed us to enjoy our special day.

    One of the ways she went above and beyond is making sure everyone was on the same page (all of the vendors) for the day of our wedding. Unfortunately, one of the members working at the venue changed jobs two weeks before our wedding. Anita went out of her way to initiate and coordinate another meeting with my husband and I as well as the new event manager to make sure we were all up to date in regards to the little details that were important to our wedding. Did I mention she cared enough to do this even after attending her own son’s wedding from out of town the week before? It shows that she not only truly loves what she does but is also passionate about making sure her clients have the most wonderful special day.

    Anita, thank you again for being so wonderful to work with. We feel truly blessed that you also said yes to us and am really hoping we keep in touch for many years to come (even though I think I’m going to keep Alec around :) and not plan any more weddings)! We absolutely adored you as did everyone who came into contact with you. You truly have a gift and thank you, thank you for making our day turn out to be everything and more we imagined!!

    If you're looking for a wedding planner, Anita is all that and more!

    I'm a very organized person who originally thought I'd plan and coordinate my own wedding. Trying to plan a California wedding from Colorado was challenging, so we reached out to Anita. Working with Anita was the best decision we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. She predicts needs / questions that you didn't even know you had!

    You should know that Anita is incredibly personable and professional. Since our first conversation with Anita, we felt like we'd known her for years. She's inquisitive, caring, and takes the time to get to know you. She'll remember pieces of your conversations months later as you're making decisions and planning your big day.

    Our wedding was slated for March 2020, and as that time approached and we didn't yet have all our vendors, Anita went the extra mile to find them. This wasn't in our original contract, but she was there for us to solve the challenges we were facing. Due to COVID, we had to cancel our original wedding, and once again, we were so happy to have Anita on our team. She coordinated with all our vendors and helped us understand ramifications in our contracts. She made a really hard decision and time much better.

    We'd give Anita 6/5 stars in this rating if we could. Thank you, Anita, for all the hard work, compassion, and fun you brought into our wedding planning process.

    Saved Our Wedding!

    Living in a different city from where we were getting married was, to be honest, incredibly difficult.
    We visited Monterey a few times (always have loved it) and finally chose a venue for our beach wedding. We went through a couple of wedding planners who kept falling through or just completely forgot about us. We thought it may be a lost cause. When we found Anita from 'A Starr Events', when knew she was the one.
    She stayed on top of everything and her detailed lists helped us feel more prepared, especially since we could only visit once a month. When there were issues with our venue, she stepped up to the plate and immediately dealt with it. Especially when we had issues with multiple florists just weeks before the wedding, she became our florist and they were gorgeous! She was present 100% and I don't know what we would've done without her.

    Anita is absolutely excellent!

    Other than marrying my husband, hiring Anita as my wedding planner/coordinator was the best choice I could have made for my wedding. After interviewing multiple potential wedding planners, I was sure that she was the right choice because of her professionalism, responsiveness, and her myriad of connections in the bay area. Her rates are very reasonable and the extensive work that she put into our wedding to make sure everything was perfect made her the greatest value we could have asked for! We were living in Texas while planning a wedding at a private property in California which was initially a challenge but once we hired Anita, she was able to put things into place by finding our caterer, DJ, tent/many other rentals, along with handling the logistics of coordinating the deliveries, budget, design, and day of specifics. I do not know how the wedding would have happened without her so if I could give her 10/5 stars here I would! She was able to coordinate with my in-laws and wedding parties to make sure that all the details were set in place. Anita's meticulous, detail oriented planning along with her ease in communication, timeliness, friendliness, and professionalism made her a pleasure to work with. While working with Anita, I always felt like her priority throughout the entire process. She made me feel like my wants and needs were met and was able to fill in any missing gaps I had so smoothly that it seemed effortless. I would easily say that my wedding was the best day of my life and a lot of it was due to the hard work that Anita put in to make the day run so smoothly.     Above and Beyond

    Anita was fabulous. She has everything down to a science from crossing your ‘T’s and dotting your ‘I’s. The day of our wedding everything was taken care of and we did not have to worry about anything. Anita had worked with all of the vendors and kept everything running so smoothly that when we entered our reception she was there ready with a glass of champagne for us to celebrate. We used all of the vendors she suggested and everything came out perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone.

    You chose to work with local "key vendor" companies and the sweetest (last minute) detail- Lula's Chocolates. They wrapped two perfectly sized pieces into that little white box...even offered you the option to match your wedding palette with choice of ribbon color...delicious!
    I never knew they offered wedding favors...now I will tell all my clients!

    I knew things were being taken care of :)

    Anita was one of the first vendors we hired for our wedding, and she was super thorough and encouraging right from the start! Whatever question I had for her, she gave me her honest insight and helped guide our decisions. The florist we ended up working with was one that she recommended to us, and that was also a really amazing and affordable experience!

    When we had to postpone due to Covid, Anita comforted and reassured us through the process and helped us navigate the steps that followed.
    On our wedding day she was incredibly thorough and a much-needed source of guidance for our whole crew! I honestly don’t know what we would’ve done if we hadn’t had Anita and her team there to set up all of the decor items we personally brought to the venue, it allowed the bridal parties and families to relax and prep for the event! I am so thankful for all of the work Anita did for us, and for putting up with a stressed/overwhelmed DIY-ing bride like myself 😂❤️

    Your gown was incredible, so romantic and a perfect fit to the overall style of your wedding. I would love to receive some photos from your photographer (if possible) so I can add them to my business website gallery. Would you mind sharing a few from the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception and dancing in the carriage house?
    We used every inch of the ranch and since you and Brandon are so photogenic I would love to view/choose the photos that would fit perfectly for marketing purposes- Your day was exquisite in so many ways..I'm positive that choosing each photo will be a challenge!

    Please give my love to Brandon and your Family...your Mom was so much help; she is (amazingly crafty) a bit of an overachiever by designing your wedding bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party! Looking back now I can't believe how your entire family showed their love...from family (homemade wine) to share with your guests to those metal pomegranate truffle favors...no details were spared!

    A Starr Events Is Amazing!

    We used A Starr Events for a 50th Birthday party and from the consultation, coordination, and most importantly the execution of our party was absolutely flawless.
    We dealt directly with Anita the Owner and she was the perfect combination of super friendly and consummate professional. We gave her a rough outline of what we had in mind and she put our vision into action.
    Anita had great ideas and suggestions and as soon as you talk to Anita you will feel all of your party planning stress melt away as she takes the reigns and puts everything together with zero stress - she is Super Professional (Super sweet as well!). Basically she listens and then it’s like ..

    Anita was the best!!

    Let me tell you first and foremost that a wedding event coordinator should fall with as much priority as obtaining all other vendors i.e caterer, photographer, florist AND wedding event coordinator.

    About 4 months before our wedding I realized I needed help!! While the knot is great, the ability to pull everything together while planning and enjoying wedding festivities I.e bridal shower, Bachelorette, invites, etc., consider a wedding coordinator will be key towards the end as deadlines are piling.

    We were lucky enough to get Anita late in the game just about 4 months before our wedding. Our hesitancy to be honest was money, however Anita was able to modify her services with my budget. I was able to complete most of the pre planning activities with her focusing on ensuring all vendors understood our theme and timeline for the wedding day. Anita helped us think about things that we hadn’t thought to ensure our day would be amazing! I would also encourage couples to think about the day of and the day before and how great it was for us to be able to go to rehearsal dinner and prep for wedding day and know that we were such great hands!

    My reception was at our family’s private ranch. While I was lucky to not spend money to rent a venue, it’s important to know that even if you are organizing events at a private home or property that you will need to consider who is coordinating this event. Anita helped make our dreams come true with securing our vendors and making sure everything went well on our day.

    The day after our wedding my husband and I were talking about how all in all Anita as our wedding event coordinator was a total must, and she was well worth it! Anita helped ensure that our wedding day went so smooth and kept us on track. Most importantly, our parents and family were able to enjoy our event rather than working it. While our family helped a lot leading up to the event having Anita and her team made sure our day was so perfect!

    For those thinking they can’t afford a coordinator consider this, on such a special day that goes by so fast, have the help of someone that can make your day a breeze. Anita and her team made our day so amazing and we got such great comments from our guests!

    We are so grateful for Anita and I would HIGHLY recommend her as an event planner!

    Couldn’t Have Chosen A Better Coordinator!

    Anita exceeded my expectations. From our very first conversation to our wedding day, she listened, was personable, upbeat, and a force to be reckoned with!

    She reassured me when I had doubts and answered all calls, texts, and emails promptly. She was also provided our linens and designed our floral arrangements (which were GORGEOUS!) personally, for an additional fee.

    On our big day, she ensured that everything ran smoothly. She worked into the night prepping & was ready for whatever may come the following day! She managed the service team and all vendors, making sure that they were doing what they were paid to do.

    Besides her great demeanor, truly, it’s her amazing skill set that proved we had chosen the right person for our special day. I gave her my ideas and she ran with it. She had a vision for our venue and made our day unique, classy, and just beautiful. She even provided personal props & touches, things that she’s acquired over the many years of working in the industry. Things that me, as a busy bride, would’ve never thought about!

    Absolutely outstanding!

    Anita coordinated my daughter's Monterey wedding with flawless expertise. She handled every single detail with perfection, taking care of issues we didn't even know existed. My daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect, and we were able to relax and enjoy the entire experience because Anita took care of everything so well. She is super detail oriented and on top of things, but at the same time she's calm and positive. Most wedding planners in Monterey/Carmel seem to prefer working with couples having super pricey weddings in Carmel Valley, where the venue does a lot of the work for you. If you're on a budget but still want a very special wedding, Anita is your person. I talked with more than a dozen planners and Anita stood out as the most committed, energetic, reliable and knowledgeable person, and the easiest to work with. And she's way more reasonably priced than most of the others. Anita handled our pre-planning, vendor selection and day-of coordination, and her years of experience and number of local contacts were invaluable. There are no words to express how amazing Anita and her team are. You'll love her!

    Amazing Anita!!!!

    Anita, you are a lifesaver! A truly gifted planner with an amazing ability to organize, create a vision, and ensure everything goes to plan! We hired Anita to help plan our wedding at Holman Ranch and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The day of went off without a hitch, and that was all due to Anita! She even organized all of our belongings into little boxes and stored them in a safe place for us to collect after the wedding concluded.
