Maria is AMAZING! I was the mother of the bride from out of town and I found Maria through some google searches. Since I was from out of town, we couldn’t do an in person consultation but we spoke on the phone and I sent her some pictures.
The day of my appointment…I chose to go to her home, it was close to our Airbnb but she does travel for an extra cost. She greeted me so warmly, like we were old friends.
I think she did a wonderful job with my make up and I enjoyed the conversation too. I wanted a prettier version of me and she delivered. Not too heavy but still glammed up.
I received a lot of compliments that evening and the make up remained beautiful the whole night.

I didn't know where to begin or have any ideas at all of what I wanted. I went with her suggestions and it was perfect! She even recommended a hair stylist named Rosa, also fantastic! Both ladies were able to work with me on short notice with minimal communication due to my hectic work schedule. They were so accomodating, friendly, professional, and most importantly highly skilled. Knows whay she is doing and listens to what you are looking for. Never had any doubt nor regret. So happy!

An experience with “Makeup “
I want you to know how happy I am with my photos for my sister’s wedding day. But everyone knows that it is the make up artist who is responsible for the presentation. Maria not only has talent in make-up; she’s an artist and is able to pick the proper colors for my skin color and texture. She also comes with experience and skill test helps calm a person down and enjoy the process and moment you’re in. An amazing makeup professional, an amazing person!
Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have found Maria for my wedding on 6/28/2024. When I was doing research and contacting makeup artists, I was impressed with how fast Maria got back to me and how amenable she was to scheduling a quick phone call. Once we talked, and she got a basic understanding of what I wanted, we scheduled a trial. Although I was getting married on Long Island, I live in Illinois, and she was extremely helpful in meeting my limited schedule.
Once we were able to meet for the trial, I immediately felt relaxed and calm by her presence (and this was about two weeks before the wedding). She listened to me, knew the look I wanted, and also knew what worked best for my complexion, etc. She had music playing, and was very thoughtful and intentional in everything she did. My MOH was with me (my sister) and she fell in love with her, too. I loved the trial makeup and received a ton of compliments— Maria managed to make me look both glam and natural at the same time, which I have not found too easy in a makeup artist.
Maria was also extremely accommodating in ways no other artist was. She had no issue doing the makeup for nearly my entire party, and quickly hired another (amazing) artist for the wedding. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she could charge much more and she gives great deals if you want to buy any of the makeup. My bridesmaids were thrilled when I told them the cost AND that she was willing to come to the venue the morning of the wedding to help me and all of us get ready.
The morning of my wedding was a bit chaotic, and I so appreciated/ needed the calming vibes of Maria! She brought her music with me, helped me calm down, and her kindness and joy radiated! She did an excellent job with all of the bridal party, and took so much time with me to make sure i looked perfect for the day. I felt so beautiful and looked so beautiful in her hands.
I HIGHLY recommend Maria for any occasion / especially a wedding, which can feel so high-stakes!! I look forward to having another event in which I need to do my makeup just to hang out with her again and have another chance to look both glamorous and natural. Thank you so much!☺️

Great service, experience, and final look!
Maria provided the perfect look for my wedding and was flexible to accommodate my tight travel schedule for a trial and the main event. While I did not know exactly what I wanted, she provided options with the right color palate for my skin tone, wedding sari, and jewelry. It was a perfect balance of natural, but powerful enough to stand out in photos and polish my overall appearance at my July 2023 large, Indian wedding. She even sensed when I was unsure, listened to my concerns, fixed them, and with her calming studio music, gave me a precious moment to breath during a busy week. My makeup looked flawless all day for well over 12 hours. My guests were amazed that I still looked fresh at the very end of the night. And, she even fixed a part of my hair that was a bit off! I went to Maria by a recommendation from a friend who has used Maria’s service for her wedding. I went for a trial and immediately fell in love. She listens and works with you so well. I got married in 2005 and she not only did me as a Bride, but also girls from my wedding party. I love Maria so much, she not only listens but helps you with your skin, makeup gives you such amazing tips and works so well with what she thinks would compliment you. It is very comforting to know you will always be in good hands. In 2005 when I was married I had two children at the time they were 4 1/2 and 1 years old. Fast forward to 2021 I used Maria again for a sweet 16 and once again I was blown away by her. She helped with my youngest daughter skin (who has had acne issues) she helped with me and gave me tips ( I have eczema). She is just truly a blessing and so wonderful and sweet she really just feels like family. Maria will always be go to for any event we have moving forward. She even traveled almost 2 hours for me and I couldn’t appreciate it more!

Maria did makeup- including airbrushing on myself (I'm the mother of the groom) as well as my sisters and my mother in law, at my house, the morning of my sons wedding. This is my second time Maria has done my makeup for a wedding i was in. She did an amazing application that was flawless and lasted the whole night once agian! I hired Maria to do the makeup for my wedding.
I can say that this was the best makeup application that I ever had.
The whole experience was awesome!
She is really a professional. She took the time to ask me questions about my likes or dislikes regarding makeup. She showed me pictures and we discussed what will work for me and then she worked her magic. She used only top quality makeup and when she finished I was completely satisfied. It looked flawless.
I had lots of complements but most important, in this important I felt happy and beautiful!

When I met Maria for my trial I knew I had nothing to worry about...she listened, made suggestions and in the end my makeup was exactly what I wanted. I felt and looked beautiful! My mother, bridesmaids and I had a great experience with Maria for my wedding. All of our makeup looked fantastic and lasted all day and into the night! We had a very humid day and I was worried I would lose all of my makeup after taking many photos outside in the heat, but everything stayed put. Everyone loved their makeup and had great feedback. It looks great in the pictures and everyone got exactly what they wanted. I wish she had had an assistant, only because there were so many of us, but other than that, it was a great experience.

She made me feel comfortable that I could trust her and not worry on my big day. She let me try a sample of a product that I could use to keep my eyes hydrated. She came to my house and worked for hours on me and my loved ones. My makeup looked great and stayed well! I was able to buy the lip color and have it to reapply for the day. I used Maria for my wedding 7 years ago and then again just recently, 5/16/14, for my sister-in-laws wedding. Maria made her natural beauty pop and needless to say, I couldn't resist using her for myself that day. I will continue to highly recommend Maria. She's an absolute must for your wedding and any other formal occasion!

If your looking for a reliable, trustworthy professional makeup artist A Soft Touch by Maria is the way to go! Maria is amazing and her work is astonishing. I had my makeup done early afternoon for a 6:30pm wedding and my makeup lasted well past midnight! The day of my wedding she did not only my makeup but 4 of my bridesmaids, my mom, and she made my flower girl feel special as well. She was so cool, calm, and collected with all the nerves in the room that day and had us all ready to go with enough time for pictures before the limo arrived. I also had Maria by my side to touch up myself and all my girls before my reception she was truly truly amazing and my wedding pictures reflect a job well done! She is an absolute must have ladies

Because of Maria, our makeup remained flawless from 1pm until well after midnight! She is an outstanding makeup artist and an utter professional. The morning of my wedding, she arrived at my house bright and early to do my makeup, along with my mom's and sister's. She was prepared with what we had decided on during the trial months prior, and her cool and confident demeanor put us all at ease. She also worked so well with the hair stylist to make sure we were all ready in a timely fashion. I cannot recommend her enough!

Maria is very a pleasant and professional make-up artist. She did a great job with me, my mom and my maid and matron of honor. My pictures came out beautiful! And not only that, after she was done with our make-up, she assisted me with my photograph shots and in getting into the limo. I am so grateful for all the help that Maria gave me on my wedding day!

Maria is amazing!! She arrived super early for my Saturday day wedding and was ready to go! She not only did an amazing job on my makeup but she saved my day because I was throwing up (nerves) and she knew just what to make (ginger tea) for me to get better and I quickly recovered. Maria is so easy going and will do exactly what you request for your special day. Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job on my makeup and my bridesmaids, mother and mother-in law. It couldn't have been better :) I know we will be working together again in the future!

Maria is an absolute professional and I highly recommend her. My wedding day was during an incredible heat wave - the temperature was 100 degrees. With Maria's perfect make up application, as well as airbrushing, nothing moved, nothing melted, and my make up looked just as fresh at the end of the night as it did first thing that day. Maria is the best.
