We had a beautiful wedding in Dinwiddie VA and hired Leslie and her team for our reception. They outdid themselves in every way! The appetizers were amazing and the dinner was delicious! They had a difficult space problem but you never would have known - so incredibly flexible and creative. Would highly recommend A Sharper Palate! -

Shaper Palate was an impressive and effective collection of professionals. In particular, Carter Aines our point of contact was an absolute game changer for us, due to unforeseen circumstances we were dropped by our original caterer. When our wedding planner put us in contact with Carter, we were immediately put at ease by her candidness, compassion, and willingness to support us. They were timely and prepared, and they made my partner and I feel valued and prioritized. We were impressed by the variety of options they had for appetizers, salads, main dishes, sides, desserts, and late-night snacks (highly recommend the mac ‘cheese bites). We were also impressed by the top-to-bottom consistency in terms of quality. For our dinners, we had their room-temperature bistro beef and creamy herb chicken with mushroom and they were both absolute show-stoppers. We had people talking about it for a couple of days after. While I understand that other options may be cheaper, I believe that the human element in Shaper Palate and their focus on quality and variety makes up for those differences and then some. -

Spring wedding
Sharper Palate provided delicious food and wonderful service at our daughter’s wedding! They are responsive and professional and I would choose them again for any important event! Thank you to Carter, her team and everyone at Sharper Palate! -

Food was Incredible!!!
One major deciding factor in choosing a caterer was that the food really had to stand out, and A Sharper Palate definitely delivered that for us! We had a medieval themed wedding (we're big geeks, and my husband got to wear an awesome sword!), and Jaeger was Incredibly patient with me in finding serving pieces that fit our theme. They even added roses here & there, around the cake and serving pieces, to enhance the look of everything. They really went that extra mile, and when it was all over, everything left was boxed up for us to bring home (yay, leftovers while we recuperated from all the wedding craziness!). The brisket was AMAZING, and I loved that the pasta salad had the optional cheese on the side, for our lactose intolerant guests. The vegetables were perfect- still crisp and flavorful, not limp & soggy, even two days later (kept in the refrigerator). I honestly couldn't choose a favorite between the hors d'oeuvres, veggies, pasta & the brisket. Their caramelized onion & mushroom pinwheels, and brown sugar, fig and walnut pinwheels, and wrapped brie were all absolute heaven! -

Carter was so responsive and patient. She was willing to talk through things over and over again until we had things just right. Literally everything they served at our wedding was incredible. We have had SO MANY complements from guests about the quality of the food. -

A Sharper Palate catered both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception, and we truly cannot say enough good things about the food, the beautiful setup, and the fantastic service. Kristen was a pleasure to work with in the months leading up to our wedding. We never had any doubts that we were in good hands with Kristen. She was accommodating of some dietary restrictions we had, and we felt that she completely understood our desires and our vision from the start. The food was impeccable and our guests are still talking about how delicious it was. The setup for our rehearsal dinner and our reception was absolutely beautiful as well. I highly recommend using A Sharper Palate - you absolutely will not regret it. -

Picking food is a big decision for a wedding and I did tastings at 3 different places total including A Sharper Palate. They were the last tasting I went to and immediately won me over with their exceptional service, professionalism, presentation and quality of food. Truthfully, I almost didn't attend this tasting because it was the only one that cost money (I think $75) but I decided to go for it and it was worth it! They also packed up any leftover food from the tasting and gave it to us to take home which was a great addition especially since we were paying. Kristen was very accommodating and flexible. We switched up menu items a few times and went back and forth but she was always there to answer questions and respond. We loved the food so much that we decided to book them for our rehearsal dinner as well! And we got a discount for booking them for both events. I was also able to come back for a dessert and cake tasting which was extra fun! Kristen and her team were very professional and had overly amazing service during the wedding weekend. She was always present and there for you even before you thought to ask for her. As soon as our first dance was over Kristen was already there placing mine and my husband's food at our seats so it was ready for us to make sure we got to eat. When it came to the food and menu, they were very helpful when it came to dietary restrictions and they also provided kid's meal's for those that needed them! It was a buffet which worked well, and our guests loved the variety. We had mini chicken and waffles at the cocktail hour which were a big hit :) Catering is always going to be one of the larger costs for a wedding, but I am glad we spent our money with this company as the service and quality was just top notch! You definitely won't go wrong booking A Sharper Palate. -

It's been a month and people are still talking about the food
More than a month post wedding everyone is still telling me what a great job A Sharper Pallet did on the food! We loved everything from our tasting with them several months before (where we went to their location and they provided samples of all food options), to the final pre wedding walk through where we all met and talked about all food stations and locations, and finally our wedding weekend where they catered both our rehearsal dinner/welcome party and our wedding day food.
Hope was amazing to work with both in terms of communication and making all food related aspects of both events work smoothly. -

A Sharper Palate catered our wedding and absolutely blew us away! We consulted with a few different catering/event companies before making a decision on ASP and they were the only one to deliver on a menu that met our specific vision while remaining budget conscious. Even though we provided our own alcohol, they gave us guidance on how much to provide and helped us choose recipes for signature drinks that met the theme of our event and our bar budget. Our contact throughout the entire process was Hope, and she was incredibly helpful and responsive - even with our last minute guest additions with dietary restrictions, and rental research when inclement weather threatened to derail our plans. On the actual day of the wedding, everything was orchestrated so smoothly and looked so gorgeous (I'll admit I was an emotional bride, but I burst into tears when I saw the cheese presentation because it looked so beautiful, haha)! Not only was the food delicious, but Hope and ASP had the utmost attention to detail - providing extra touches of florals, fabrics, and candles that added to the ambiance. We got so many compliments on the service, the food, and the seamless organization of the entire event. Would hire ASP again in a heartbeat! -

Their food is delicious, their service is impeccable, and they are great to work with. During our reception it was hard to find time to eat and they packed us a to-go basket that we ate on for days afterward. I'm not kidding - the food was still fantastic! If you want guaranteed amazing food and service, work with A Sharper Palate!! -

Sharper Palate catered our wedding in June, and frankly I could not have been more impressed. We selected our menu over a year ago, when the world looked like a very different place. As the phases rolled out and new rules for gatherings were placed on all of us, A Sharper Palate continually came up with creative solutions so that we could keep the initial menu and ideal of our wedding. Not only that, our guests felt comfortable, respected, and like someone had paid attention to their safety and health. The food was delicious and my only complaint could be that everyone enjoyed too much of it so my own left overs were limited. -

A Sharper Palate did a wonderful job catering our March 2022 Wedding. Leslie did a fantastic job helping us come up with the right amount of food for our fluctuating guest count and the wait staff the day of the event was absolutely wonderful! Every time a passed item came out of the kitchen, they came right to us! Let me tell you, people always say "you'll never eat at your wedding," but that did not happen our wedding day and we are so grateful! All of our guests (which included 2 professional chefs) said the meal was fantastic. Highly recommend!
