We hired Krystal as a partial planner which could not have been a better fit for our situation. Her expertise, guidance, and knowledge of the Emerald Isle area is priceless. Whatever she charges, it's worth it.

Where Krystal shines is the day of your event. She is so organized and calm (while also spunky and fun) you truly feel like your special day is in the best hands. We were fortunate to have Jessica and Cindy part of the planning team for our day and they are just as much rockstars as Krystal.

Excellent Wedding Planner & Coordinator

Hiring Krystal as our wedding planner & coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We hired Krystal for our October wedding in Beaufort. We selected her partial-planning package as I enjoyed being a part of the planning and design of our wedding. Krystal was able to recommend vendors during the planning process and we loved working with the vendor that she recommended. Throughout the planning process, Krystal answered email questions promptly and was available for phones to discuss information in more detail. She was a calming presence during the planning process and relieved any stress that came up.
My fiancé and I had a specific vision for our wedding and how we wanted to transform the Watercraft Center, from a boat building facility into a beautiful wedding venue. On the day of our wedding, Krystal executed our vision flawlessly. As a designer, it can be challenging to hand over your designs for final execution, but I was 100% confident that Krystal and her assistance could carry out our design plan. Krystal setup the Watercraft center for our ceremony and then flipped the space for the reception during cocktail hour. The décor and overall design was exactly how we envisioned. The wedding day ran so smoothly with Krystal coordinating the timeline and flow of events. I would highly recommend Krystal and her wedding planning and coordinating services.

Krystal is an amazing planner!!

Krystal is amazing!! We were planning a destination wedding and so we were planning from out of state. From our initial inquiry about Emerald Isle weddings, Krystal was an absolute pleasure to work with. I don't think my husband and I knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into, but we had this vision of what we wanted. Krystal took our vision and went above and beyond what we ever could've imagined. She provided a list of great vendors for us to choose from, which took so much stress off of us during our planning months. She was in constant communication with us during our months leading up to the wedding and answered all of our questions along the way. On the day of our wedding, she was a rockstar did it all. There were some little things I forgot and overlooked and Krystal just took care of it and made it all work and come together in the best way possible. Leading up to the wedding, Krystal made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with and that her sole attention was on me and my wedding. She is extremely knowledgeable and talented in her profession and deserves high recognition for it. If it wasn't for Krystal, our wedding wouldn't have been able to happen the way it did. It was an unbelievable day and we have Krystal to thank for that!

Emerald Isle Beach wedding

From the initial planning, a Seaside Wedding and Events was an integral part of the success of our wedding. Krystal has the experience, knowledge, and vendor contacts that really made the difference. The demands on our time were minimal, the vendors were all professional and friendly, and the results were outstanding. A Seaside Wedding and Events arranged everything that we needed, and helped us have the perfect wedding even when the weather forced us inside at the last minute. No stress setup and removal, beautiful flowers and photos, they handled it all. We whole heartedly appreciate the work Krystal and her team did for us, and highly recommend her and A Seaside Wedding and Events to any couple wanting to have a beach wedding.

Beach wedding

I'm so glad I had such great help with planning my wedding! When I first started, I felt overwhelmed but Krystal immediately put me at ease! She was responsive, professional, friendly, and always gave me great suggestions on vendors and more. A wedding beyond compare

When we decided to have our wedding on the beach, I was overwhelmed with the process of setting up an event far from home and with little knowledge of the area. When I found Krystal and A Seaside Wedding and Events, all of that changed! What had been a daunting process became effortless and fun. Krystal's organization and planning, as well as her awesome vendor connections, allowed me to focus on the small and meaningful things that made our ceremony uniquely us. When we had to change the original date due to COVID, she handled that process without missing a beat. Her confidence in making the arrangements removed any trace of stress. I can't fail to mention the wedding day...Krystal corralled our college, high school, and middle school bridesmaids, handled our independent flower girls, and created the most beautiful beach wedding scene ever. We are both beyond grateful for her awesome work and would recommend her to everyone planning an event in the area.

BEST Decision I Made for My Wedding Day

I cannot express how grateful I am for Krystal. From the first meeting to the big day, she was on it. I was so overwhelmed before she was recommended by a friend, and she made all the little details seem effortless. Our whole family was able to relax and enjoy the day. Even when my groom realized the day of that he had no way to attach his suspenders to his pants.... she made it happen. She has a natural talent for planning events and a great eye for decorations. She made the entire process significantly less stressful. I’ll never be able to fully repay her for making the best day of our lives so memorable and effortless. She is easy-going and listens openly. She communicated with the vendors for me, making my responsibilities simple and my to-do list MUCH shorter. Nothing felt chaotic or rushed or problematic– and that is ONLY because she was there. She respected all of our wishes for our wedding style and made them into a reality. I truly cannot sing her praises enough. Krystal is the absolute best.

Wonderful and Amazing

Absolutely 100% professional, timely, extremely helpful, and has able to adapt quickly with any kind of crisis (weather, ripped dress, anything). Krystal was absolutely awesome helping with details during the planning process to executing a flawless event. Our wedding was supposed to be outside but Mother Nature had another plan. Within 5 mins Krystal had the inside of the Islander ready to go and guest seated. There is no way any family member or friend could have made it happen as flawless and easy as Krystal did! If you are planning any type of event you must hire Krystal she is a game change and a life saver!

Well Worth Choosing

We do not know how we can ever thank Krystal enough for all she did to help us through this entire wedding process. In reading this review, you will see that the Wedding Planner you choose can make or break your wedding and we are so glad to have found Krystal.
When we started planning our beach wedding, our first thoughts were that we would research locations and once we decided on a location, we would travel down there to find the various vendors for our wedding. We are so very glad we didn’t go down that path.
While searching online for beach locations in NC, we came across Seaside Wedding & Events in Emerald Isle. We decided it made sense to at least call and maybe get a little advice on the area having never been there before. Our first conversation with Krystal was great and made us realize that it would be worth having her help us with our planning. She helped us find the perfect beach house for us to get married with our toes in the sand and then have a party back in the house.
When we travelled to Emerald Isle in January to meet her, she had arranged Cake tastings with us, a meeting with a pastor, and when we attended the Bridal Expo, had already told a photographer and caterer about us and took us to see the beach house. We had many conversations with Krystal over the months leading up to the wedding and after each phone call and email, we continued to be very happy that we had chosen her.
If you are planning a wedding, you know that it can be very stressful at times trying to get everything together along with all of the other things that occur daily. Having someone in your corner to help make things successful, is totally worth having especially when planning one of the happiest days in your life.
In my line of work, there are a few sayings / ways of doing things that help us to be successful. The first and second, “We Don’t Plan to Fail, We Just Fail to Plan” and ‘Being Flexible” always help us to be ready for what may occur and the last is “Don’t just come to me with a problem and drop it on my desk, but instead tell me the problem and the proposed solution”. A month before the we learned the importance of these 3 things.
Krystal called to let us know that the beach house we were to be married at was not going to be fully repaired in time due to Hurricane Florence the previous year. The owners were working on getting it ready but things were not going well. She could have just let us known that and then said that we will see what we can do for a plan b, but instead said that she found us a solution she thought was even better. The house she found for us wasn’t in the inventory of Emerald Isle Realty. She called the other realty company spoke to them about the house and as the house was not an ‘Event House’, was able to convince the owner to let us have our wedding there. Then she worked with the other realty company to make the transition as painless as possible. We don’t know how she did it, but she found a property even better than the one we had originally chosen!
All of Krystal’s hard work paid off and our wedding was amazing. Her advice and guidance through it all helped ease the stress and everything she did the day of the wedding helped to make it a wonderful time.
If you are planning a wedding on or near the Crystal Coast, be sure to talk to Krystal!

Smith Wedding

Krystal did an amazing job for our special day. It was difficult to plan a wedding being out of state,but she made it so much easier. The flowers on the Arbor was beautiful along with my boquet. I would highly recommend Seaside wedding and events for anyone in my family or friends looking for a destination wedding. Our photographer was amazing as well Karen Doddy. Can more wait until we get all our pictures back. Looking for hair and makeup artist, highly recommended Dara Beck, hair and makeup was perfect.

My son and daughter-in-law are young and were trying to plan a wedding themselves. I called Emerald Isle Realty for them to rent them a place for a honeymoon. I spoke with Krystal Bequette and she helped find just the right place! She offered info on wedding packages, but the packages were more than the kids could afford to pay. I told Krystal and she sent me a list of officiants we could choose from a la carte. She gave us suggestions on where to go eat afterwards and we chose Riverside Steak and Seafood. It was above and beyond our expectations!! Krystal sure was helpful since we had never been to Emerald Isle and knew nothing about where to start planning a wedding. We couldn't have done it without Krystal's help! She was awesome!!

I was from out of town so I needed someone to be my eyes while I wasn’t there until 4 days before the wedding. Krystal was soooo much help and did everything the day of the wedding without me knowing anything at all, leaving me with 0% stress! She made everything go smoothly and the day was absolutely perfect! If you’re planning a wedding in Emerald Isle or around there, you need her! You won’t regret it!!!!!!

Krystal is the best! She was the wedding planner for our daughter's wedding in Beaufort NC. We live about six hours away. Krystal is not only a knowledgeable and skilled event planner, she is an excellent communicator and very creative as well. Krystal created an innovative and attractive way to beautify a venue we were interested in using. It made a huge difference. Her knowledge and communication skills instill a level of confidence and calmness throughout the event. We felt so thankful to have found Krystal and had this wonderful experience with her.

Krystal Bequette is hands down the best wedding and rehearsal dinner planner on the Crystal Coast. Working with Krystal for our daughters wedding was such a great experience! She was very quick to send me links to of things I asked for. She went out of her way to give us the time and assistance we needed. She was very responsible, prompt and on time for everything (even arrived earlier than I did) She did everything I asked her to, and even more. After the wedding, I left the reception, and Krystal and her team stayed behind and packed everything up for me and delivered it to our house. I would highly recommend Krystal to assist you with your wedding, and I would definitely use her again!

This review is to show my gratitude to the Events Director, Krystal. We had a family wedding and things fell through at the last minute. When I say last minute, I called Krystal at 2 pm on the day before the wedding. We needed help with the works....locations, caterer, planning, EVERYTHING! And she and her team (Valerie and Megan) are not only professional, knowledgeable and work well under pressure; I'm convinced they are miracle workers. Even when I was stressing out; they kept me calm and the bride and groom happy. The wedding and reception were amazing. My words can’t convey how deeply grateful I am for Krystal saving the day. Krystal provided much help with phone numbers to local businesses to rent tables and chairs. She came to the house for me to ask some questions about rearranging furniture. She contacted local police so that our cars would not be towed, and reminded me of local regulations regarding the sound ordinance. She continued to recommend we get someone to help us that night, and I finally took her up on it. The person she got for us was worth EVERY penny!!!!!
She even came out to meet with us on the day she received the information that her grand-father had passed away.. That is dedication!
If I had another event like this, I would be glad to go through Krystal!

Krystal was very helpful. We were from Ohio and it is not easy to plan a long distance wedding but Krystal helped us by letting us see our venue, beach house, several months before our wedding. She also put up with my many phone calls and answered all my questions. She helped with suggesting my Cake person , Maria whom I loved. The officiant was awesome, Rev. Tillman. We could not have picked a better location! If you are looking for a smaller, yet gorgeous yard area, this is perfect. The house is spacious and the views are to died for! There are many stairs, so be aware of that when considering older guests.

Krystal was an absolutely rockstar. We loved having her expertise as we planned our wedding in Emerald Isle. She worked hard to make sure that our wedding was everything we wanted and more. If we had a question or request, Krystal made sure it got handled. The Emerald Isle Realty beach home was perfect for the wedding and reception -- it even had an ice maker and two fridges!!! (this obviously wasn't their first rodeo) I also loved having the event attendants during the wedding to help make everything run smoothly. We can't say enough about our experience. It was fantastic.

Krystal was a perfect wedding planner. We worked with her from about 100 miles away and started planning about a year and a half ahead of time. Krystal responded immediately to any questions we had. She lined up the best vendors on the island. Everything went absolutely perfectly on our end, and we couldn't be happier. Krystal was worth every penny (and more!).

Krystal was such a joy to work with. We fully appreciated her calm, level-headed approach. My husband and I live out of town, and before we even came to Emerald Isle before our reception, Krystal was busy looking at our wedding venue, coordinating with our reception site, and making sure all of our vendors were on the same page. Hurricane Arthur came through the night before our beach wedding, and Krystal was prepared several days ahead of time with several back-up plans, coordinating with our rental companies to make sure the deliveries would still happen on time, and making sure we had everything we needed. It was such a load off to know that she was coordinating the chairs, the country club, the officiant - all those last minute details that pile up!

It was so fun spending our day with Krystal. She really brought a level of enthusiasm (without being overly gushy!) to our special day. Even before we had officially hired Krystal, she was willing to be helpful and give me so many wonderful contacts to help make our day happen. The fact that she was willing to help us like that before officially becoming our Wedding Coordinator was a big part of why we wanted to have her with us as our coordinator. We knew that she was dedicated to making things run smoothly the day of and all the days leading up to it. Without Krystal, we couldn't have done it!

Heidi Barlow was phenomenal to work with! She was pleasant, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and always quick to respond to any questions I had. She even drove to a couple of the properties I had inquired about specifically to give me an idea of the sizes of the rec rooms by comparison when I expressed concern about the rec rooms not being big enough to hold our wedding guests for an indoor reception. We had a great experience with Krystal at A Seaside Wedding & Events. She was very helpful and honest about what package we needed without trying to upsell us. We were very happy with the house (SeaLah)and the services provided by Emerald Isle Realty. Equipment order was appropriate, updated to reflect the change in weather, and delivered/picked up on time. Our only issue was with the linens - we found out just before the wedding that our requested lines weren't available and had to select different ones. Our patterned linens were a major element of our decor and this change was very stressful. I believe this was an issue with their subcontractor. Final linens were very nice and Emerald Isle had people arrive and put them on the tables after the rest of the equipment was delivered. We would use A Seaside Wedding & Events / Emerald Isle Realty again over other rental companies on the island.

Emerald Isle Realty was absolutely wonderful to work with. Every question, concern, need I had was handled quickly and professionally. I always dealt with the same person, rather than a different person every time I called, so she knew exactly what I was talking about. She really treated me like I was her only client, and gave me and my wedding as much attention as I could have hoped for. Their prices were very reasonable, especially since I was getting my vacation house for a week, could split cost with others that wanted to stay in the house, and could hold the rehearsal, wedding, and reception all at the same location. They also had event staff on hand at the wedding to help clean, take out trash, or any other things we needed help with. Highly recommend using Emerald Isle Realty!

I cannot say enough positive things about Krystal & Kelly and Emerald Isle Reality. When I first approached Krystal about doing a wedding on the beach and renting a house or houses for my very large family, my budget was extremely limited. Krystal still put her all into helping us. When our budget got unexpectedly larger, without hesitating, Krystal redid all of her work and she found us the most perfect houses for our large families (Boat House and Batten the Breeze).

The original plan for the wedding was going to be something super informal and a pot luck. Krystal went along with it. When that changed to something more formal, she went along with it and gave us great advice for vendors.

On the day of the wedding, Krystal and Kelly were pros. I did not have to worry about anything, because they really took care of everything. The ceremony and the reception sites were perfectly decorated and I was very pleased. There were some hiccups along the way, but Krystal and Kelly improvised beautifully. I am so happy that I found EI reality and I cannot thank Krystal and Kelly enough.

It could not have been possible for me to find a better wedding planner than Heidi and Krystal at A Seaside Wedding. They are incredible. I was the bride that wanted to elope and I am so incredibly thankful I did not because we and our guests had such an amazing time. In fact, we heard from so many it was the best and most fun wedding they'd ever been to. We weren't expecting that but it sure made everything feel so worth it. Heidi and Krystal are so easy to work with, so responsive, so accommodating and really are experts at their job - taking on all the worry and planning that goes into the big day. Beyond that I enjoyed their personalities so much and hope we stay friends! Highly recommended.

I recently had a beach front wedding at Emerald Isle. It was absolutely perfect! We used the Angels Watch duplex beach house. The wedding was beach front and the reception was around the pool. We fell in love with The Boat House and knew immediately that it was the place where we would be married. We had the most beautiful wedding that I could possibly imagine in Emerald Isle, thanks in great part to the staff at Emerald Isle Realty, especially Heidi Barlow - wedding planner extraordinaire! Planning a destination wedding to NC was not easy, but Heidi made it all possibly. On the day of the wedding, Heidi had everything running like clockwork and I didn't feel like I had to worry about a single thing. She did everything from running the rehearsal to helping make starfish decorations for our getaway car. We had the ceremony right on the beach, and then the reception at a beautiful house called the Boat House which had a gorgeous sound-side location and was a great spot to watch the sunset during the reception. It was absolutely perfect!

Amanda and her associates helped us to book the wedding house and find the perfect house for the groom's family to stay in as well. All of our relatives who came out have already started to book their next vacation, as they work with you to accomodate all your needs! We even had an elevator for the elderly relatives to enjoy the pool and all the floors in the house. It also really helped with bringing in the food for the reception and the dj equipment!

We would say you won't be disappointed. The prices are affordable and they will work hard to make sure your wedding is absolutely beautiful and your day goes smoothly. Krystal was amazing would highly recommend her to plan your wedding. They have a wonderful selection of event homes to choose from to have your wedding at. We rented Summer Loving for our wedding and the house was breathtaking had a beautiful view of the ocean and the house was spacious and more than accommodating for our guests. Not only was Krystal and Adina a joy to work with but they fit right in with the family we felt like they were apart of our family which made for an awesome time. WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS VENDOR AGAIN!!!

25th Wedding Vow Renewal

Smooth Sailing

We were renewing our wedding vows for 25th anniversary. Krystal was professional and very helpful with the questions we had. She helped us pick the right time of day to do the ceremony and was flexible with some accommodations that were needed. The cupcakes that Maria made were custom made for us and were delicious! Ally was patient and right on with her photography. She did the pictures that we wanted and then added some fun pictures for us. We cannot wait to see the pictures!

Heidi was awesome. She made my wedding stress free. I planned from Chicago and she was able to take my requests & help me find the best vendors to make it happen. She helped me find the perfect house for the wedding, a great place for the rehearsal dinner & even got rid of the beach combers who set up next to our arbor.

I really enjoyed working with Emerald Isle Realty because of Heidi! She found us the perfect reception site and she ALWAYS responded to my emails right away. We are very thankful that we had jer running the show for us on our wedding day!

We are so happy we found our wedding planner, Krystal. We did not have a clue as to where to begin with planning our wedding since we had just moved to the area. Krystal connected us with the officiant, florist, photographer and handled the beach set-up on our wedding day. Krystal made everything flow flawlessly.

This company took care of everything the day of our wedding. From setting up to taking down decorations, I had nothing to worry about. I would highly recommend.

Heidi and her assistant were more helpful than i expected and took care of every need I had and even the ones I could not think of the day of the wedding. Everything went smoothly and was taken care of in a professional manner. Would definately recommmend Emerald Isle Realty and Heidi!

The budget and flexibility are only ranked above average because its a beach wedding so its going to be a little more expensive, but if you choose like us, you can have the entire wedding party stay in the house the entire week before the wedding!

And flexibility is great if you don't have animals to worry about - and make sure you start planning a year out because they book up early and book up quickly!

There was a chance for rain on my wedding date and they had everything ready to go in case that happened, but luckily it didn't! I definitely would use them again for another event!

We rented "Boat House" thru Emerald Isle Realty for our wedding, and we couldn't be happier that we did!!! We got married on the Ocean and had the reception at Boat House. It is an ideal setting for a wedding reception. The big lawn was a great place for the tables, the pool deck worked out so well for cocktail hour and the poolside patio was the perfect place for the DJ and dance floor. The house is BEAUTIFUL! It is well appointed, well stocked and gorgeous. Everyone fell in love with it! We look forward to renting it out again sometime. The wedding coordinator from Emerald Isle realty did a nice job.

Emerald Isle Realty set us up with the perfect photographer and officiant. Our flowers and decorations were gorgeous as well. We could not have done it without them! They truly made our wedding day memorable.

The house was pretty expensive though with all the beautiful photo's it made the cost worth it. We also had wanted to rent the house for an additional day but the house was already booked for the next week. Heidi was great the entire time. She answered all of our questions and even provided us with some guidance. We really didn't need the two guys that came the day of the wedding to help keep the area clean and was sad that we had to pay extra for them, but they were very kind and even though we invited them to celebrate with us they tried to stay hidden as much as possible. Overall it was a great experience and we'll have some wonderful memories for years to come.

We had a beach wedding which turned out beautifully. We had it out in front of the house we rented for the bride and her family. The house was great and we had many of options to choose from. They weren't real quick in responding to phone calls and emails. We enjoy talking to a person and that was a little hard with them but overall it was alright.

We purchased the "day of" coordination package and it was a great way for me, my husband, and our wedding party to relax on the wedding day. Krystal and Heidi were very helpful in setting up the ceremony and reception space!

Leading up to the wedding I was pleased with the assistance that was being provided to me despite the fact that others pointed out that I was doing all of the "grunt work" if you will. No assistance was given to actually prepare items for the wedding. My planner was however available for any/all questions I had along the way. On the day of, I was again pleased with everything overall, however there were later a number of things that were pointed out to me by my guests that were disappointing and seemed extremely unprofessional to me.

We rented Champagne Bay, a soundfront home, for our wedding on Emerald Isle. The house was beautiful, and Heidi Barlow with EI Realty was great to work with. We were a little upset that EIR called the house on wedding day to ask how many guests we were having an hour before the ceremony, but our wedding planner took care of everything for us. And, the homeowners at this home were a bit difficult, but overall it was a beautiful place for a wedding!

The yard and beach of this home provided a great place for the wedding ceremony and reception. The covered patio and garden were an added plus. The negative to this property was that the kitchen was on the top floor and the house itself was cluttered with personal things from the owner and is in need of a "sprucing" up with fresh paint, wallpaper, etc.
Emerald Isle Realty provided event personnel who were very friendly and helpful. The interaction with the company was professional. I do however have a major complaint. When we rented the house, we were told that there was ample parking along the street for our guests; there were even signs in the garage to designate parking. Subsequently the town of Pine Knoll Shores passed a "no parking" on the street ordinance. Emerald Isle Realty personnel NEVER informed us of the change and I only found out because I called the Police Department myself. This change caused us to incur a $500 charge for a shuttle bus service to and from the hotel - which we were very lucky to get at the last minute (ony because of a cancellation due to Hurricane Irene damage at the Sheraton). Emerald Isle Realty made NO concession for this change in the agreed upon terms of the rental which disappointed me.
