I am a local wedding planner, and have to give this amazing venue some love! There are a lot of things I really appreciate about 800 Congress:
1) The venue manager, Andrea! She is awesome, responsive, willing to get creative with you and help you come up with ideas if you have questions about the venue/flow of the event, etc. She manages both 800Co and 7CO!
2) The space! This space is really unique and cool. Nothing like it downtown, where our list of venues is slowly dwindling. You can really appreciate the history of the place.
3) This is a venue that is a blank enough slate that you could literally turn it into ANYTHING! With a little imagination, draping, and lighting, truly the sky is the limit here.
I highly recommend having your wedding or event here!

Jennifer Sent on 04/15/2018For actual facility - I vote this place a 10/5. Absolutely stunning. Guests really loved it and I couldn't have dreamed of a better place to have my wedding day vision come to life. I mean, I could rave forever about the facility and the look of it. The only negative would be the parking connivence for guests, but we had a beautiful day so it worked out. I give this place 2 stars because the managers were EXTREMELY difficult to work with. I did this wedding DIY. They were difficult to schedule with, they were not forthcoming when you asked them questions, and I was told incorrect information multiple times. To the point that on the wedding day, two hours into the reception, one manager came and told us an alcohol brand we had was out of policy - even though I had sent them the alcohol information WEEKS in advance of our wedding day, and they had all of set up and cocktail hour to make this change. Also, they never told us there were cameras in the middle room upstairs when we asked. One girl went up there to change while the male manager was in the room with the cameras. I am not saying, he was watching, but it is a little unsettling. We would not have known this had my friend not been doing the day-of coordinating and was aware that he was watching camera footage throughout the night. She also told me that the manager was speaking badly about guests and being judgmental of other vendors. Not surprised after working with them. All in all, the venue is beautiful. We used their bartenders who were very friendly and professional. I would not pay that much money to work with this facility staff again though.

We apologize for the confusion that you experienced while working with our team. Regarding alcohol, we do not have any restrictions on brands used within our venue. The restrictions we do have are compliant with state laws, that guests cannot self-serve their own alcohol or pour shots for themselves, this follows all TABC laws, our certified bartenders must serve all alcohol. Regarding the rooms upstairs, we do not advertise these rooms as “changing rooms”, our venue is used for a plethora of events and security is of the utmost importance to us and our guests. We do have a dedicated private restroom upstairs for changing that we advertise as private.
At 800 Congress we strive to be transparent and forthcoming with our clients and we’re sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t flawless. We wish you the best in your marriage and continued happiness for the future.

Beautiful facility, but absolutley terrible service and attendtion to detail. We were able to transform this venue into a beautiful secret garden but the lack of help from the venue was astounding. Emails went unanswered, people changed positions or left and we weren't told who to contact. The venue was actually working off the plans for another wedding that was months in advance of ours. On the day of the wedding, our vendors had nowhere to park even though we paid for the parking permits the venue required. As a result, our food was late being served and the celebratory wedding events that were to take place were rushed or eliminated. The event manager we had been working with was not there on the day of the wedding (she never told us it would be someone else) and the person subbing did not have a clue about what was supposed to happen even though all the plans had been submitted on time and clearly labeled. Our wedding planner and her team worked overtime to try and mitigate the damage. I cannot in good conscious recommend this venue.
