My fh wanted an engagement party but i think its too late lol so my bm came up with the idea of a couples shower, anyone have idea? or heard of that?

I have choosen a dark purple as my main wedding color I am having a hard time trying to find the right accent?? Purple/bling? Purple/gold? Purple/champagne? Different shades of purple? So confused!
