The proposal: On a nodescript Monday night as I’m coming home from work, Pax had asked me to swing by the store and get some meat for dinner. I come home, there’s a pile of dirty laundry in the living room, and he’s on the couch watching Cash Cab. Nothing romantic to tip me off that anything was going to happen, right? So, for whatever reason I start saying, "Pax, let’s just get married. This weekend. Let’s go to Vegas, I don’t even care anymore let’s just get married." He disappears for a minute, and I don’t think anything of it, so I go to the kitchen for some chips and salsa. He comes back, and I say, "I don’t even want a big wedding anymore, I don’t want to have to worry about paying for it." He says, "Yes you do." I say, "...You’re right, I want it more than anything." So he goes, "Well, while we’re on the subject..." and gets on one knee right there in our kitchen. I kinda wish I hadn’t said that, but in retrospect it did give him an opening and I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal.
