Rooftop Wedding Venues in Mexico

I’m from Canada and I booked a group of 55 to stay at the Riu Emerald Bay Jan 2-9 2026 and had planned to hold my wedding there until I learned it was way more than I wanted to spend, and they refused to customize anything. Instead I booked with Mr. Lionso‘s, a restaurant that’s an eight minute walk down the beach from the Riu, with a gorgeous terrace and tons of great reviews. I would like to share that Denisse, their certified wedding planner (and restaurant manager), was absolutely fabulous to work with! She was extremely good at communication not only because she easily spoke English, but she was also very accessible, fast and thorough with her responses. She also made the wedding completely customizable and helped me create exactly what I was envisioning. She recommended several local vendors, including a florist, a videographer, a photographer, a baker, and a Hair & Makeup team, and a shuttle driver to go back-and-forth to the Riu because I had some guests with mobility issues. She helped facilitate the international transfer of deposits and ensured we got a face-to-face video discussion with each of the vendors so that there was nothing lost in translation. All vendors did an excellent job, and the photos are so beautiful that they almost seem fake. The coconut cream cake was so delicious, and I can’t wait to see the video! I can’t say enough good things about her and her team and I would highly recommend booking a wedding here. In fact, I’ve already recommended it to two other brides that have booked here. It was truly everything I had dreamed of.

If you are considering Sirena Morena for your wedding in Yelapa, stop searching because you have found your venue. From the moment we began planning to the final firework lighting up the beach, Michelle and Eren made every step of our year-long journey feel effortless, joyful, and deeply personal. Sirena Morena sits right on the main beach of Yelapa, and the bohemian charm of the venue speaks for itself. But what truly sets this place apart are the people behind it. Michelle is an absolute gem, warm, laid-back, and somehow on top of every single detail all at once. No request was too much, and her calm energy was a gift during what can be an overwhelming process. Eren was equally incredible, welcoming, supportive, and endlessly effective. Together, they are a dream team. All we did was hand them a Pinterest mood board and a vision, and they executed it flawlessly, exceeding every expectation we had. We had around 120 guests, and logistics for a Yelapa wedding are no small feat. Getting to Yelapa requires a panga boat ride from Puerto Vallarta, which can feel daunting at that scale. Michelle and Eren handled all of our guest transportation seamlessly, coordinating arrivals and departures without a hitch. They also provided us with a comprehensive list of local lodging recommendations for our guests, which took a huge weight off our shoulders. The food was exceptional. Our guests chose between cochinita pibil and mahi mahi, with a beautifully marinated portobello option for our vegan guests. The shrimp and fish ceviche appetizers were a hit, and the portions throughout the night were incredibly generous. At 11pm, a taco truck appeared on the beach for a late night snack and our guests absolutely loved it. The cake, made locally with fruit and carrot cake layers, was not only stunning in its decoration but genuinely one of the best cakes anyone at our wedding had ever tasted. The open bar featured local fruit margaritas and mezcalitas alongside beer and wine, and people truly could not get enough of them. The staff was attentive beyond measure and not a single guest had an empty glass all night. Every person we spoke to raved about the service. Our package included everything: all decor and florals that were bohemian and breathtaking, a bilingual DJ with full audio equipment who read the room perfectly all night, the wait staff and kitchen team, and a dance floor that we requested to be expanded for our group and Sirena Morena made it happen without hesitation. We added sparklers on the corners of the dance floor for our first dance and closed the night with a fireworks show on the beach that left everyone speechless. The weather in Yelapa in November was absolutely perfect. The setting, the people, the food, the music, the magic. I have zero complaints. This was the most perfect wedding I have ever attended, and it is entirely because of the heart and dedication that Michelle, Eren, and the entire Sirena Morena team put into making it that way. If you want a wedding that feels like a dream you never want to wake up from, book Sirena Morena. You will not regret a single moment.
