The girls at Artistic Strands did an amazing job with me and my bridesmaids! We had the whole salon to ourselves and the morning was relaxing and comfortable for us all. I loved my hair and makeup, Libby did an awesome job and made sure I was happy with everything every step of the way! Finding a salon that provided more than just updos and downstyles was a challenge and I was so happy to find them! Highly recommended!

I was the mother of the groom and not feeling pretty. I debated for a very long time, “do I spend the money, time, and energy” just to be disappointed and feel even worse. On this particular day though, my son was getting married and I really should at least “try”. Right away when I walked in I knew this was the REAL DEAL. A display of makeup and tools to make a department store makeup counter look inadequate. Meet the artist Kay; intelligent, confident, warm and genuine. She worked quickly, yet took all those tedious steps that matter. I was SO nervous when she handed me the mirror. Tears immediately started to swell in my eyes (ha not to worry, she even taught me how to dab not to wipe it all away!). SHE DID IT. Somehow, she was able to bring about a look that made me look “authentically pretty”! Kay is an ARTIST. She is much more than an applicator of makeup. It’s different. It’ worth it! Do not think another moment about whether to do this. Make an appointment. You won’t be disappointed.

This was the only salon in Cedar Rapids that offered airbrush makeup and was willing to travel (for a very small fee). They send you a packet to fill out for information about your wedding and what kind of makeup you prefer. Also, they included 5 coupons for use in the salon for other services. Stephanie, my makeup artist, was very accommodating with my preferences and has a keen eye for detail. During the trial, she made sure that I liked each feature before moving on to the next one. She was prompt on the day of my wedding and took the time needed with each girl to make sure everyone's makeup was perfect. I was thrilled with my makeup on my wedding day and it didn't smear, sweat off, or feel dry the entire day. Their makeup and service was excellent!
