Our daughter got married here Oct 2016. The new club house was spectacular with it's beautiful views.
The wedding coordinator Mary was so great to deal with, professional, went above and beyond to see
all was perfect. Food delicious, just over all exceptional.

Considering how expensive it is to rent a place on the Cape, we really lucked out by finding this place. The club offered a reasonable rental rate and the food was reasonably priced, too. We'd heard great things about the food, and it really was delicious! Fair warning though on a few things - 1, the club is private, so you need to know someone who is a member there. 2, they seem to be in the middle of some changes, as it was really difficult to narrow down things that were or weren't allowed and the coordinator was extremely difficult to get a hold of. But all in all the big day came together and the venue looked beautiful.

I had to leave 3 messages wit Alessandra before I got an initial call back, where she told me they had dates available in July. I then called her back and left voicemails twice trying to inquire about the potential July dates after speaking with my fiancé. My mother had to stop in at WHGC to speak to Alessandra’s manager to find out they don’t host events in July at all. I never got a call back from Alessandra from my last message (over a week) until she finally called and asked if we could do May instead. She only apologized after I told her how I had been waiting to hear from her directly as she never replied to my last voice message. Her unprofessionalism left a bad taste in my mouth, and frankly the fact that she didn’t seem to feel bad that she had misinformed us and the error was hers. I think there is a need for more customer experience training, but hopefully she learns from this and brides she works with in the future feel less discouraged than I currently do.

Woods Hole Golf Club, specifically General Manager David Zauner, ruined our wedding day. Five weeks out from our scheduled date, with invitations mailed and tens of thousands of dollars out to various vendors, David and Club Management cancelled our wedding. 

Weeks earlier, I was assured by the Club management, in writing, that the Club was still willing to host our wedding and that the details would be based on the restrictions set forth by the Governor at that time. I had planned and replanned the event, working with a hard-to-reach event coordinator to ensure that we were well within coronavirus guidelines. 

No apology was ever issued. There was no definable reason our event could not be accommodated. ALL of our other vendors were incredibly supportive, safe, and flexible- so it was clearly not an industry issue. As time moved on, it became clear that David was simply too lazy to hire the staff to hold our 40 person wedding. 

With the help of our brilliant wedding planner (external from WHGC) we were still able to get married on our original wedding weekend at Wequassett- a venue far more beautiful, organized, and experienced. We were lucky to have a gorgeous wedding surrounded by loved ones, and had 0 cases of covid-19 for any of our guests or vendors before, during, or 2 weeks after the event.
