Wedding Decor by Ruth is a family-owned wedding floral business based in Allison, Iowa. My dream of designing flowers for brides came after I helped with our daughter's beautiful barn wedding, creating all the centerpieces and flowers for her bridal party. I never dreamed that I would ever be able to start a small business working with brides, designing their flowers with no formal training at all. With the encouragement from my husband and our family suggesting I follow my passion of designing and working with other brides to create their dream flowers for their special wedding day, I started Wedding Decor by Ruth in the fall of 2014. I remember trusting God with this venture, giving it all to Him for his honor and glory. One morning as I was reading, I came upon this verse that really spoke to me "commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans". I claimed that verse for my business and I am amazed how this dream has blossomed to working with brides all over the United States and Canada. You see, with no formal training, I had no clue how to put a bouquet together, let alone a boutonniere or a corsage, but I knew if I trusted Him for wisdom and help, He would give me the vision I needed to create it in my head and use my hands to design the flowers brides requested. At Wedding Decor by Ruth our wedding florals are artfully crafted to make each wedding feel like one of a kind that you can't find at your typical florist shop. My pieces are customized and 100% handmade to fit the vision of each individual bride and groom I work with. I am very detail-oriented in designing my bouquets and strive to deliver my very best to you. I listen to your wishes, stay within your budget and want you excited to carry one of my bouquets down the aisle! You are the reason I absolutely LOVE what I do and put my heart and soul into each wedding! I want to make this as stress free, unique and cost effective for you as possible.
