We eloped to St. Thomas in 2020 and we could not have asked for a better day. A huge part of it was having such a wonderful photographer. We had a beach wedding and added a package where were would also go around downtown to take more photos. Little did we know what a unforgettable experience we would have! Mick took us on our own personalized tour of the island, snapping pictures every step of the way. He also took us to the best stops to get refreshments ;). He took his time telling us about the history of the places we visited and it never felt rushed. We were able to take everything in and we made memories that will last us a lifetime. I highly recommend Virgin Islands Design Group!

My husband and I were planning to renew our vows for our 10 year anniversary and were looking for a photographer to capture this special day for us. After a lot of researching, I came across the Virgin Islands Design Group website and thought I would contact them to see if they could do a special package for us since this was just a vow renewal and didn't need a ton of pictures.
Mick returned my email and he was able to put together a special package for us based off of our needs and wants. As we approached the special day, Mick worked with me on the details about where we would have the ceremony, food, and the type of pictures we wanted.
He even picked up lunch for us from a great deli in town and had it all in a cooler for us. I would definitely recommend Mick to anyone!!! He was such a wonderful person and such a friendly guy. I would have to say he made our day much better than expected and went out of his way to make us happy and spent way more time with us than had planned.
Now about the pictures.....I cannot express how beautiful the pictures turned out. He made sure there were no people in the background of our pictures and the colors turned out amazing!

Mick Collins from Virgin Islands Design Group and Island Romance Photography was the best decision we made when planning our St Thomas wedding. Mick was professional, informative & went above & beyond when taking pictures for our wedding. He met with us the day before our big day, helped us pick the perfect spot on the beach, & even helped me with a florist to get my bouquet & flowers for my hair. Mick also got us our CD before we left the island. He is a class act & our pictures turned out amazing! I strongly recommend hiring him for your wedding or any event you have planned.

After spending hours researching photographers for our destination wedding in the USVI I came across Mick's website through wedding wire and knew I found what I was looking for. I was shocked at how pricey many of the local photographers are and found Mick to be very reasonable plus he had original options that no one else offered. He was very flexable and accomodating even before we signed the contract. He was able to work on a custom package with us since it was only my fiance and I. We wanted a way to record our time in the beatuful USVI and also a couple of hours for the wedding itself. We worked something out with the "Day in the Life" and the small wedding package and came out of it with gorgeous pictures of islands and even better pictures of out very intimate wedding. We couldn't have asked for more. We got a personalized tour of St. Thomas while having photos taken throughout the tour and the next day got some very scenic and romantic shots of the ceremony. We later got a hard cover book with selected pictures in it and a proffesional CD with all rights to the pictures so we can print as many as we want.
Mick surprised us with a DVD slideshow before we left so that we would have something to show our poor frozen friends and family back in the states at our reception a week later! We got so many comments on how beautiful the pictures are.
I would recommend Mick to anyone doing a wedding in the Virgin Islands or even just to record your stay there. He was very accommodating and worked with the changes understanding that it was hard to know what to expect when you are not from the islands. He put us at ease and gave us a very facinating tour. We learned some history of the area and met some locals and sipped coconut juice out of a freshly picked coconut for the first time! You won't regret sending him a message or giving him a call.

Having a destination wedding can be a bit tough, because of the unfamiliarity of the vendors. But I have to take my hat off to Mick Kollins. Mick captured our wedding and once we reviewed our photos, we were in awe!! The scenery and lighting was amazing!!! Our pictures were so 3-D, it appeared as if it were a backdrop. Had we not been there to witness our day, we wouldn't have believed the photos were real!! Breathtaking! He captured all of the amazing moments and highlights of our special day. I would highly recommend his work to anyone who is looking for a photographer in the St. Thomas, VI area.
