While their website is awful, the service, professionalism, and quality done at Veirks is top notch. I inherited a diamond from my grandmother and wanted to use it for my wedding ring. I also wanted small detail on the sides of the ring but no other diamonds. Kent at Veirks is a great jewelry maker and actually ended up making my ring for me since they did not have one in the store (except vintage rigs which were super expensive!). He spent about 88 hours on the detail of my ring and set my stone in for only 800 dollars. They also spend quality time cleaning your ring when you take it in. I also purchased my husbands ring there and he loves it too!

My husband and I had my mother's original diamond from her engagement ring. We needed to find a setting and band to compliment it. When I went to Vierks, they had a multitude of options. I was not limited. When I described what I was looking for, they explained the pros and cons of such a setting. As they educated me about the different setting, I immediately found the perfect set. They worked with my husband and customized it around my mother's diamond. It is now I set that can be passed down for generations in our family. My only concern is that we purchased a white gold set and the engagement ring is already turning gold. It is an issue that they are willing to resolve though.

Bad job on appraisal

I needed a more recent appraisal of my wedding band set and some jewelry for insurance, and the agent recommended Vierk's. The appraisal of the other jewelry was what I expected, but the appraisal of my bridal set was incredibly low (based on what I know was originally paid as well as well as the original appraisal of my engagement ring). I noticed that the description said 14k white gold, instead of 18k, so I went back to have it corrected and figured that might explain the discrepancy. I barely received an apology for the error, which was corrected in the description, but no adjustment was made to the appraisal. When I tried to question it, I was cut off and dismissed. Jeff Vierk was very haughty and acted as if he didn't want to admit he could've made a mistake. This appraisal bothered me for awhile, especially since I was looking at replacement value of my wedding rings, which are very sentimental to me given the early and untimely death of my husband. I finally decided to take my rings elsewhere, to just pay for another appraisal. I did not mention that I'd already had the rings appraised recently, just asked for an insurance appraisal, and as I thought, Jeff Vierk's appraisal was wildly low--there was a difference of $4,850! His appraisal for both rings was less than the appraisal of just the diamond in my engagement ring. If you need an accurate appraisal, go elsewhere.
