We used Diane for our fall 2024 wedding and we've been in such a state of marital bliss that we're extremely late in giving this review actually!

From the get-go, Diane hustled hard for us and we knew from the moment we met her, she had our back.... she's direct, friendly, and goes out of her way to make the food special for her clients and ensured we had a smooth, stress-free experience. If anything went wrong the day of our wedding, we had no idea. Diane is SO together in fact, that she handled things that probably some of our other vendors dropped the ball on. She handled a large portion of our rentals which was so helpful.... always giving advice when asked, and gently nudging us back on course if she saw a problem arising (the rentals and the food were all included on one bill, very helpful). Much to my relief as well, she totally got a lot of our more uncommon requests for our wedding, including venue, time of day, flow of day, and style, and made it all flow seamlessly with a ton of moving parts--including orchestrating our bourbon toast (instead of champagne) and our "heirloom" family dessert table along with a small cake, which she set up for us beautifully alongside her catering setup.

Now for the food.....I (the bride) am from KY, and both my husband and I really wanted to showcase some traditional KY foods, while accommodating a large variety of dietary requests, including mine--every version of an app or station we requested, she made a vegetarian version of as well as the regular. The food across the board was so delicious, and contrary to popular belief, you CAN enjoy the food at your wedding when you have Diane, because she personally made us each a plate and brought it to us. She and her staff throughout the event anticipated everything.... we were never without water, a drink, or food. One of my favorite moments of the day was in the few minutes before I walked down the aisle, I was getting sooooo nervous and Diane strolled by, took one look at me and handed me my Bride's Cocktail (a delicious Paper Plane, ty Diane's bartenders for perfecting) and said "here try it for me to be sure it's right", with a little wink. The laugh I got from that made me giggle for the rest of the day. Our guests were so impressed and loved every bit they put on their plates.

She's truly Type A in the best way possible and allayed so many of this very Type A bride's fears of disaster along the way. Highly recommend Diane if you want someone who cares, and who will absolutely show up from day 1 for you and your partner to have a special, enjoyable, and stress free wedding day!

Diane was with us every step of the way. We had a very specific wine list and Diane worked hard coordinating with the father of the bride and distributors to get everything we wanted. Diane was in constant communication with us and left no doubt that our wedding day would be perfect.

Diane and her team did a wonderful job on the day of our wedding. The food was incredible and very well plated and the staff was friendly and professional. Our guests loved the passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. Diane’s dishes are creative with the perfect mix of flare and tradition.

We cannot speak highly enough of Diane and her team. It is clear Type A is one of the premiere caterers in central Kentucky. You will not be disappointed with Type A Catering!

Type A Catering was incredible! Diane was very detail oriented throughout the entire process. Not only did Diane help us put our menu together, she also took care of ordering our rentals. We had a tasting, rental selection meeting, and multiple planning phone calls / emails. We had 3 food stations at our wedding - tenderloin and mashed potatoes, lasagna cupcakes, and street tacos. It was awesome having multiple food options for us and our guests! We had a stunning charcuterie spread and passed appetizers during cocktail hour. We also had 3 signature drinks. Everything was delicious and consistent from our original tasting! We received multiple compliments from our guests about the catering. Type A Catering was very accommodating of our special requests and guest's dietary needs (GF, allergies, vegan). On our wedding day, the staff was incredible too. Diane personally brought our dinner to us to ensure we could enjoy our meal together. Additionally, Type A packaged 2 meals for us to enjoy in the days following our wedding. I couldn't have been happier with Type A Catering, I highly recommend them to anyone!! Thank you Type A Catering!

Diane was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She was organized, an excellent communicator, and genuine. Most importantly the food was GREAT! As a couple affected by COVID-19, Diane was so easy to work with, working through the multiple reschedules and venue restrictions with us. I cannot emphasize enough how great she was to work with. I highly recommend hiring Type A Catering!

If I could advise one thing to any future bride planning her wedding, it would be this: HIRE DIANE KELLUM WITH TYPE A CATERING. Do it now.

The company is aptly named Type A as Diane is every bit of it and as a bride you'll be so so so thankful she is. Diane is more than a caterer- she fills in all the gaps and grey areas when it comes to the reception planning. Everything from rentals to food to timing and more- she'll be thinking of things you never dreamed of needing to plan. She has plan A, plan B, and plan C locked, loaded, and ready-to-go for your event.

After our initial tasting, my husband and I counted down the days until we could eat her food again. We were overwhelmed with our good fortune of booking her so late considering our wedding was slotted for one of the most popular dates of 2021.

Diane's food is not "wedding food", it is quite literally fine dining. Don't be alarmed by any negative reviews regarding the bar. She is upfront about serving alcohol and her legal obligations and we were all on the same page. We had not a single issue with our open bar and guests the entire night.

Our menu included shrimp & grits, spinach artichoke puffs, brie & berry skewers, and bourbon date rumaki for appetizers, spring berry salads, bourbon cream chicken and bourbon BBQ brisket for entrees, green beans, mac 'n cheese, and fingerling potatoes as sides, and a late night snack chicken & waffle station.

(We also hired her for my bridal shower and that food was to die for as well)

Diane is nothing if not consistently exceeding expectations! 10/10

So thankful we chose Diane and Type A Catering to provide food and bar services for our wedding day. From start to finish Diane was responsive, flexible (cause Covid threw us some curveballs of course!), and very helpful in planning and creating the perfect menu for our event. We wanted to do appetizer stations and ending up choosing 7 food options- all of which were exceptional! Diane made sure 2 plates with all food options were brought to our sweetheart table so we were able to try everything and eat between being pulled in a million directions all day as bride and groom. The open bar and liquor selections she brought were on point- she knows her stuff! And I even requested a his and hers whiskey cocktail which she happily brought all the ingredients for and knocked out of the park. I cannot say enough good things about Type A Catering. If you're planning your perfect day, Diane is the one you want in charge of your menu and bar!

We hired Type A for the bar catering for our wedding. Diane was very organized and great to work with. We used another caterer for our food and she helped us coordinate with them seamlessly.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Diane and her staff. They made the entire process easy and seamless during a pandemic wedding. They were very flexible working with our continually changing guest count, budget and special requests. They remained flexible when we encountered last minute changes with the rehearsal dinner due to state mandates. Type A Catering saved the day. We loved everything our menu entailed and guests spoke highly regarding food selections, but our favorite by far was the hot brown dip! 😊

When I booked with Diane nearly a year and a half ago, I did not have a vision of what I wanted my wedding day to look like. I felt like the worst kind of bride to deal with because I did not have specifics for so many things, but Diane took it all in stride. We visited multiple rental companies multiple times, countless emails and had several meetings before everything was decided. Meanwhile, CoVid-19 was always lurking in the background yet we pushed forward with our original date and did not want to postpone.
Fast forward 5 days before our wedding; CoVid was again spiking causing our already reduced guest count to tumble even further, a disaster with a dry cleaner resulting in a ruined flower girl dress and numerous disputes with our venue owners which nearly made us move venues days before our wedding. Two days before our wedding I felt so defeated because it seemed everything was unraveling and I was at my breaking point. Thankfully, with the help of wonderful family plus Diane and her amazing team we had a perfect wedding day. Our guests raved about the quality and quantity of food at our wedding as well as how polite and courteous everyone was. I cannot thank or recommend Diane and her entire team at Type A Catering enough for making our day truly wonderful.

When planning our wedding, we know two things had to happen. One, make sure the bar never runs out and two, have delicious food. Type A Catering went beyond our expectations. I had guest who were asking me what we were having months in advance and could not wait to try the food just based off the menu. Honestly, the food might have been one of the top three things I was excited about that day too. We had a fusion wedding and needed to also have Indian food. We ordered Indian food from a local restaurant and Type A catering handled the rest. They were in contact with the restaurant to make sure everything was taken care of and then the day of they served and maintained the food. The food was beyond words. Every single guest was walking away with three plates in their hands and going back for seconds. I still keep getting messages about how amazing our food was and asking where it was from. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation of the food was beautiful as well! We had to figure out a way to make stations and buffet style appetizers COVID friendly and they did an excellent job! I know that catering can get pricey, but I promise you wont be disappointed if Type A does your catering. It was worth every penny I spent.
