with a taste for adventure
Mackenzie's first international trip was before she could walk. Travel and exploring the world is her way of life. Before the age of 18, she was well versed in all things Caribbean and Central America from years of holiday scuba diving and snorkeling trips. Her DMV-based family couldn't resist the sun and white sand beaches in the winter months. With a yoga teaching mother and a scuba diving father, early in life Mackenzie learned the value of balancing adventure and restoration in your travels.
Out of school, Mackenzie's love for our National Parks and the American home front blossomed while working at a historic bed and breakfast in Idaho. Being immersed in a small bed and breakfast and the outfitter way of life changed her perspective on travel, adventure, and customer service forever.
Shortly after, Mackenzie started working at a travel agency in the D.C.- Virginia area and the rest is history. She gained valuable experience working in a small boutique agency that focus on luxury leisure travel and within a few years secured a job working for National Geographic's Private Jet Tour Operator, TCS World Travel. During her time there, she gained incredible experience with off the beaten path destinations and intricate visa processes. She was even lucky enough to join one of the expeditions around the world.
Having both travel agent and tour operation in her background makes her a highly efficient advocate for her clients, as she understands both sides of the industry and the many complexities of this growing and ever changing field.
As a yoga teacher herself, Mackenzie has built Trailblazing Travel's brand on the foundation of honesty and good faith, authentically hoping to bring joyful experience and richness to her client's lives.
