My background as an adventure travel photographer for magazines like National Geographic Adventure, Outside, Freeskier, and Trail runner has given me a unique perspective. I have traveled to photograph in all 50 US States, and over 30 foreign countries. That travel and experience has helped shape my philosophy of wedding photography, into a few main concepts.

First, is to create wedding photos that feel classic and timeless without relying on gimmicks or the latest fads. I want to show people how they really are, but also the best versions of themselves. For me, this entails using a combination of candid documentary style photography with simple posed portraits that allow people to feel natural and relaxed.

Second, is to convey a sense of place. People choose destination weddings for a reason, and I think it is important to capture the character of that location. More than two decades of experience photographing in dozens of countries across multiple continents has resulted in me seeing places as just as important as the people in them.

When it comes to booking me, my goal is to make hiring and working with me as simple as possible. One of the reasons I use a flat rate is because I know photographers are one of the first vendors to get booked. Sometimes this happens a year or two before the actual wedding. Because of that, I don't want couples to have to worry about how many hours they need, or whether you'll need a second photographer. Once you book me, rest assured that you will have adequate coverage for the day regardless of how your schedule and plan evolves.

Lastly, I am proud to have served couples from diverse backgrounds since I formed Timothy Faust Photography more than 20 years ago. All are welcome here. I believe that love is love, and it is my honor to photograph couples without regard to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion.
