Close to most of the major attractions, The Westport is a spacious 11,000-square-foot venue in the heart of downtown Chico.Before it became an event center, the building lovingly housed Nantucket Design & Home and prior to that, it was the Chico Garage, then Chico’s first Cadillac dealership. It has been recently renovated, with innovative enhancements to its natural design, which include walnut-shell blasted wood beams and cement floors, creating an atmosphere that takes acoustics to the next level.
In the business of home design for many decades and with extensive experience creating memorable events for friends and the community, it was a natural next step for Nicole, Sage, Sara, and Robin to reimagine the Nantucket Building into a spectacular new downtown venue called The Westport.
While pondering the perfect name for the event center may have been drawn out and extensive, when they saw it, they knew it was right. Sage says the name came about while they were hanging a piece of art at The Westport. The art was a map of coastal New England and like a treasure map movie, the name illuminated itself to all four pairs of eyes as if sent from the storied wood beams themselves.
With almost fifty years in a family business, the women behind The Westport bring the same attention to detail that one appreciates from a small, locally owned business. The space may be grand, but the feeling will always be centered around family and their client’s unique tastes.

Amazing Team to Work With!
And if you haven't been to this venue yet you are in for a pleasant surprise. The inside is a dream with an open floor concept for the reception area with exposed wooden beams, beautiful chandeliers, natural lighting during the day and soft lighting at night. Any pictures taken here are absolutely stunning! Through the barn doors is a whole other side that can be used for the ceremony space and extra seating/hangout areas for the reception.
There's also a separate bridal suite upstairs so we can keep the bride hidden until just the right moment and an area for the groom and groomsmen to get ready.
And last but certainly not least this venue is temperature controlled so they can hold weddings and other events in any kind of weather (hot or cold) and they are located in Downtown Chico so anyone who wants to keep the party going doesn't have to travel far to nearby bars/restaurants.
The Westport is the venue that Downtown Chico has always needed and anyone lucky enough to work with The Westport team will not be disappointed.
