In 2009, the Vance family set out to combine their love for the outdoors and a good challenge by restoring 20 acres of historic land outside of Highlands, North Carolina- a place close to the family's heart. After having served as the backdrop for their own daughter’s wedding, they decided to share the picturesque venue with others. Today, The Vineyard boasts 13 different varietals under vine, creating a spectacular setting for any event.
The 5,400 square-foot open-air pavilion is The Vineyard's main event setting. The pavilion is equipped with a full-service commercial kitchen and on-site restrooms. Guests have access to two bars- one being a unique, handmade, circular bar top that can be placed where ever you'd like. The pavilion can accommodate up to 299 guests. Rental of the pavilion includes use of the farm house and barn for day-of event prep.
Ask about our rental catalog to see event items and decor that are available.
The main ceremony area is located within the vineyard and apple orchard. Behind the picturesque setting is an open field often used for cocktail hour. We offer church pews, rustic tree stump cocktail tables and other unique, decorative rental items for use during your event.
The Mountain Retreat sits atop a hill overlooking the vineyard. Sleeping 10 comfortably (4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms), it's the perfect spot for brides to get ready the day of the big event or for a weekend family retreat. The lower level is also available for small gatherings like rehearsal dinners or brunches. There are also 2 bathrooms on the lower level for guests.
The restored two bedroom, one bath cozy farm house is the perfect place for the bridal party to prep on the big day, overnight or weekend stays. Guests will enjoy sitting by the fire pit overlooking the vineyard.
The barn is a rustic, converted barn overlooking the vineyard. It's separated into three suites and can accommodate 12 overnight guests comfortably. It's also a great space for the groom and his groomsmen to prep for the wedding as well as for small get togethers.
We converted two shipping containers into "mini" guest suites- Petit Verdot and Petit Syrah. Each container is equipped with a full bathroom and kitchenette, and sleeps two comfortably. These suites make for a unique experience for guests! (pictures below do not reflect most recent updates to containers which includes an expansive porch with scenic views)
The Vineyard also features a wine cellar, which can be used for small gatherings, award-winning dahlia garden, pond, and spring house.

Picture perfect wedding
A year and a half ago my son and daughter-in-law had a picture-perfect wedding at The Vineyard! This venue is beautiful and so inviting for any type of wedding! Ours was a smaller wedding, but they can accommodate much larger ones. The ceremony took place down the hill looking at the vineyard, but the wonderful staff had a golf cart for the older guests that couldn’t walk up and down the hill. In the event of rain, the staff had a Plan B. The bride and her party used an adorable cottage for dressing, while down the road there was an awesome barn for the groom and his groomsmen. The reception pavilion is so tastefully decorated, there isn’t the need for a lot of extra. It has a bar and full kitchen making it easy for caterers and the floor of the pavilion is perfect for dancing the night away! All the buildings overlook the gorgeous vineyard and the charming pond with the waterfall. This setting allows for the most elegant photos and videos to relive the special day! The Vineyard allowed my daughter-in-law to have the wedding she dreamed about!

Our wedding was September 8th, 2018 and the vineyard looked gorgeous. Every guest was in love with the venue and all of the flowers were blooming. We saved a lot of cost using the vineyard because it is BYOB and they was definitely the reason we chose the vineyard. The day of the wedding, and probably every day of the year, they have an amazing staff there making sure the venue looks perfect. There is a man that was able to drive any of the individuals with disabilities down to the ceremony area on his golf cart so they would not have to walk down the stairs. Our experience here was amazing.
