About
WHITNEY AND MATSAYA PHOTOGRAPHY
Whitney and Matsaya are sisters who began exploring photography out of wanting to take selfies and pretending to be models. They explored the camera individually and eventually found themselves working together often enough that it only made sense for them to join hands. These sisters are based in Wisconsin and it is their dream to travel the world to capture endless diverse and unique love stories.
The work we do is inspired from art, storytelling, and the authenticity of sacrificial love. Our approach to photography is a mixture of journalism and fine portraiture. We love to step back and capture those real emotions throughout the day while being involved and intentional about what needs to be done to capture the best photographs for you.
Natural light, genuine colors, raw emotions, and delicate movement are what we lean towards. All of these elements create timeless photography that you can enjoy for years to come. We believe in creating genuine photos that truly reflect life. Our philosophy is that every frame we capture should be well thought out, carefully curated, and purposeful.

Matsaya began venturing into photography as a middle schooler and was gifted her first camera by her father. She loves enjoying a nice cup of green tea while listening to magical songs by Studio Ghibli. Matsaya is inspired by anything magical and whimsical - which is the same reason why she loves photographing magical weddings.
Whitney was 8-years-old when she received her first camera - a 1990s instant film Polaroid. The only photo she can remember taking with that camera is a photo of her sister Matsaya crying on the floor. Her favorite thing about being a wedding photographer is that she never gets bored of seeing people commit to love.
