The Venue at River’s Edge, formerly the Waterloo Community Hall, is a brick, Neoclassical building in the Waterloo Downtown Historic District. Built in 1926 as a community hall, it was funded by the local community to serve its many needs. With its large lighted stage and expansive wood-floored auditorium, it has hosted dances, live theater performances, weddings, high school basketball games, kindergarten classes, American Legion, Boy Scout, and other meetings and community gatherings. In addition to the auditorium, there were men’s and women’s lounges to each side of the main entrance lobby.
Starting in June 2019, we are re-opening these historic doors as The Venue at River’s Edge.
