The Tremont House was a beautiful venue and incredibly accommodating. The Davidson Ballroom was a perfect ceremony and reception location and the food was delicious. We had many people tell us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Our catering manager was Angie and she went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Each time we contacted her, she was very responsive and eager to help us with anything we asked. She was equally as great on our wedding day. Our guests really enjoyed the location of our wedding, especially since many were from out of town. There is a lot to do in and around the Tremont! The Tremont House also made for beautiful wedding pictures! : )

We had a wonderful time at the Tremont House for our reception. Gina was our catering manager and was with us each step of the way. Our reception was in the Sam Houston Ballroom and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious and alcohol with the open bar was excellent. I have nothing but good things to say about this venue and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a classy wedding venue.

My daughter and her husband's wedding reception was held in the beautiful Davidson Ballroom at the Tremont House on New Year's Eve. This is a beautiful, spacious room. With all the decor in place, it is one of the prettiest ballrooms I have ever seen. It has a very nice downstairs cocktail area as well as a balcony upstairs that overlooks the street. The staff did an excellent job and Chef Jason was great at listening to the special stations my daughter and her fiance wanted. Our guests commented how lovely the reception was and how beautiful the room looked. It has a good size dance floor. In addition, many of our guests stayed at the Tremont House. It is an exceptional historical hotel. You will not be disappointed with this venue and the hotel.

My husband and I got married about a month ago. We got married at The Tremont House on the Rooftop Terrance and our reception in the Sam Houston Ballroom and loved every minute of it. We always wanted to have a destination wedding and had thought about getting married on the beach but were worried about the weather and liked the fact that the Tremont House offered a outside ceremony with a backup plan in case of bad weather. Shanael, the catering manager, was absolutely amazing! She made my whole wedding planning so simple I didn't even need a wedding planner. She was extremely easy to talk to and felt like a good friend by the end of the wedding. We blocked a section of rooms for our guest and Rashida with reservations was a wonderful help with that. She and Shanael were always there with any questions and made the day flawless. Our guest loved the hotel and were amazed with its attention to detail. My husband and I will be vacationing there for many years to come. I would recommend to anyone to have your wedding and reception at The Tremont House.

My husband and I had our wedding at the Beautiful Historic Tremont House on the Rooftop Terrance, and had our Reception in the huge Davidson Ballroom located in the Davidson Building across the street. Shanael the Catering Coordinator there, worked alongside my Event Planner Joy to make our day a memorable one. I believe they handled everything perfectly! I never had to worry that anything was going to be wrong! We knew from the first moment we walked inside that it was for us. I honestly couldn't even imagine having our ceremony anywhere else. The Rooftop Terrance is beautiful and classy with unparalleled view of downtown Galveston. The view in and of itself is breathtaking. Our guests got a change to watch the cruise ships leave from dock on their way out to sea while attending the ceremony.
The Davidson Ballroom has a gorgeous view of Downtown Galveston from the 2nd floor where our reception was held. The ballroom had amazing floor to ceiling window with views of the city and gorgeous lighting for great photos. You are able to open the large windows to gain access to the balcony. The room was set up exactly as expected with close attention to details.
They were incredibly flexible as we requested courses that were not offered on the main menu. Everything went flawlessly, our guests raved about the food. Our quests were severed Sirloin Tips in a Cabernet Mushroom Sauce or Palm Spring Chicken Breast. We got the most compliments on the Chicken Breast. There was even a children menu with Chicken Tenders and Macaroni and Cheese. The food was served fresh and hot. The food is AMAZING though. Everyone commented on how delicious it all was. The catering staff did a GREAT job!!! We received a complimentary honeymoon suite the night of the wedding. It was so huge and beautiful. We had chilled champagne and strawberries in our room. The management, staff and catering exceeded our expectations with their professionalism, and genuine concern for each and every detail. All of our guests loved the venue and gave us so many compliments. I loved that I could use their services for everything - catering, bar, valet, security, linens, etc. The facility was pristine and fabulous and breathtakingly beautiful. Compared to other Galveston venues of this same caliber and ambiance, I also think The Tremont House offers the best value. We had a fabulous time and did not want it to end. The Tremont House was everything I dreamed of for my special day!!!

The Tremont house is beautiful and easy to work with. You get a large & amazing suite the night before the wedding (or for the wedding night ;o) They were the only place in town who called us back within a timely manner. All of our questions and concerns were answered. Overall it was a pleasure working with them!

Everything was beautiful for my ceremony and the staff was friendly. We had a few issues at the reception. The food did not taste like it dif at the tasting and they forgot an additional dessert we had ordered. I was compensated for the oversight and was not charged for the items. All in all it was as we had planned and everyone had a lot of fun.

The Tremont is a beautiful setting for a ceremony and reception. We used the grand staircase in the ballroom building as the stage for the ceremony, and then moved upstairs to the main ballroom for the reception. Everything was beautiful. Keep an eye out for the mandatory minimum which does not include several taxes and service charges. Also keep in mind that the ceremony space is not guaranteed for the rehearsal.

Great location-subpar coordinator

My husband and I got married here in December of 2025. The ballroom space is nice, my only complaint is that the lights were unable to be dimmed and it was SO bright during the reception til they turned the DJ lights on and the overhead lights off. This kind of killed the vibe for me and I wish I would have known about it beforehand.
Now, our main complaint is the staff member in charge of wedding coordination at the tremont- Ashley Gaters . We were planning the wedding from out of state, so email communication was crucial (TBH - email communication is ALWAYS crucial when you are planning a wedding!) She once failed to respond to my email for up to 3 weeks, and I eventually had to have my wedding coordinator reach out to attempt to contact her to try to get a response. The fastest email response I ever got from her was 2 weeks ; in my opinion, this is unacceptable. She seemed to not care about her job or our wedding very much. She was very disappointing to work with, and I think the Tremont would benefit from replacing her in this position. All other staff we interacted with were wonderful.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
