Unhinged Owner

I had been looking forward to my cousins wedding since the day she told us of her engagement and asked me to be a bridesmaid. I was so excited and happy for her. She picked The Ranch House wedding venue which is located in our hometown of Caldwell, TX. I will never forget the day of her wedding because it was an exceedingly horrible memory that I will never forget and one that doesn’t happen often in one’s lifetime. The reason I created this negative review was to tell the truth and speak up about my awful experience with the OWNER of the venue so that future brides are aware of how they or their guests may be impacted.

Everyone in the bridal party met that morning at the venue to get ready for my cousins big day. The venue has a suite to accommodate this and all was going as planned. The makeup artist and hairstylist did a wonderful job. The time came for everyone to get their dresses on, so all the bridesmaids left the bridal suite and went to the restroom to change into our dresses. The restroom is small and only had 4 stalls. I let everyone go ahead and was the last one to get into a stall and put my dress on. Once it was on I rushed back to the bridal suite because I knew the photographer had just arrived and the bride wanted pictures of the bridal party before the ceremony. And this is when things went from 100 to 0 in the blink of an eye. Once I got back to the bridal suite, I realized majority of bridesmaids weren’t there. The only people in the room was the bride, her mother, the photographer, the hair and makeup stylist, the maid of honor and sister to the bride also my cousin, another bridesmaid, and finally the OWNER. Upon realizing half the wedding party was missing I said, “where is everyone and should I go check on the other bridesmaids”? Before I knew it, the owner aggressively screamed at me, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW! GO! LEAVE! I WILL COME GET YOU AND THE OTHER BRIDESMAIDS WHEN WE ARE READY”!!!

With tears in my eyes, and everyone just staring at me, I was mortified and in shock. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. I couldn’t believe how unprofessional and savagely rude the owner had just spoken to me. In front of the bride, my family and everyone else on the day of her wedding right before she walks down the aisle. After I walked out the room to collect myself, the makeup and hairstylest followed me out the room to make sure I was okay and told me they were in just as much shock as I was and that they had been serving brides for years and had never ever in their career experience anything like that. They couldn’t believe themselves. There were also people standing outside the door who heard the owner scream at me at the top of her lungs and asked what happened and if everyone was okay when I walked out the door.

I’ve been a bridesmaid 12 times and just had a wedding a year ago. I know and understand how much this day means to couples and their loved ones. This is the biggest day of their lives. It’s important that everyone stay calm and peaceful and remain positive throughout the day. This was not the case for me and my experience with the owner and on this day and I will always remember how she treated me because no person should ever speak to anyone like that. I am a working professional women and 32 years old. Adults don’t speak to each other like that. Especially venue wedding owners, where was her respect person to person or owner to guest. There was zero customer service and this was a huge mistake on her end. She had several times through the day to speak to me about this and never did.

I will never attend another event at this venue and I certainly will not recommend this venue. I truly hope the owner is okay and hope she reads this review and will never terrify another person again.
