We are not a hard-to-please couple, and gave most of our vendors 5 stars on wedding wire. The Marina is a beautiful location, don't get me wrong, but working with the staff was the most miserable, stressful, and unprofessional time we have ever experienced. From initial contract issues, being ignored, not knowing who to contact and the lack of quality service was terrible. We called the night of the wedding to ask if the tables were set up, because we paid for a set up fee. We were told they were being set up as we spoke. When we arrived to the venue at 7am to decorate we had to set up all tables and chairs, including the ceremony rows. (My husband and I the day of our wedding) We did have the help of one Marina boy. If you book this venue demand to see the tables before hand; they are all dirty and tablecloths do not hide the filth. Ask to look at linens. We were told 6 weeks before the wedding our linen and plate colors changed from silver to gold, after planning our theme (green and grey) around what they showed us. And we then had to find our own rentals to accommodate our original plans. We dealt with so many different people over a one year period at one point, they didn't even know we had a contract and we had to send them our copy. Just as a side note** we DID NOT USE the caterer at The Wharf for food so we are not reviewing them. Only the plans and policies of the Marina in executing our wedding. We DID buy the bar for the wedding and the lead bartender/sales manager/coordinator who promised to help decorate showed up hours late because of traffic and ended up setting up the bar minutes before the ceremony; guests were already asking to buy drinks. The only things we relied on them for were the only things that went wrong at out wedding. We had to bring our own ice to keep water bottles cool. Nothing was easy and I hope the owners change their management company ASAP because this venue is beautiful and should be used every weekend throughout the summer.
