The name of the band always generates some strange looks and sometimes the more obvious question: Where did the band get its name? The first time the Man Band played together for a live audience was in a Reno casino ballroom for an audience of 80 female educators. The band members were the only males in the room. The group performed an original song and one of the ladies in the audience yelled “You’re a boy-band!” as they finished up, to which the lead singer responded “We are WAAAYYY too old to be a boy band. We’re a MAN Band.” The rest of the band members nodded in agreement. From that point on, the name just kind of stuck.
