I had a fantastic experience with Annie (for makeup) and Tatum (for hair) at my wedding. Before I found Annie and Tatum, booking hair/makeup was proving more difficult than expected. I did extensive research on the options in Columbus and even tried one vendor (for a special event) with disappointing results. What I valued most about Lovely was their super communication skills. In particular, I was looking for a vendor who would be willing to give me the time to communicate exactly the look I was striving for (within realistic limits of course). I had spent time compiling inspiration photos and a detailed description of what I wanted, and while I was hoping most vendors would find that helpful, at least a couple vendors seemed overwhelmed or a bit cold in response to my requests unless they were brief/general (e.g., "soft glam" or "natural"). By contrast, Annie sent me detailed questionnaires well ahead of my trial, which allowed me the ability to describe exactly what I wanted for each part of my face/hair, and gave me ample opportunity to follow up. It was clear that Annie and Tatum both kept close track of the notes they took at my trial and did not need reminders of what we had done at the trial or my feedback afterward. On the wedding day, they were perfectly on time (even a little early, in a good way!) and followed through beautifully. Annie and Tatum are also both warm, sociable, fun people to talk to. I wished I had more time the morning of my wedding just to chat with them. I highly recommend Annie and Tatum!

Annie was great and always answered my questions in a timely fashion via email. I also reached out on instagram about some products for my hair and they took the time to put together some recommendations for me. I feel insecure about my thin hair, but they always eased my concerns and assured me that I would be a beautiful bride. Kayla was my artist for my hair and makeup. She completed her job in record time and she blended right into the group of girls I was getting ready with, making the wedding morning super fun and stress-free. I ended up using the care kit they gave me multiple times and it came in super handy! She was always willing to answer my questions and made me feel beautiful on our special day.

Carrissa, Grace & Mckenzee were truly amazing! From the trials to the wedding day my girls and I were in amazing hands. I felt that my inspiration photos were followed to a T and I also felt very comfortable giving my honest feedback during the trials. On the wedding day, the girls were extremely productive which made the day super stress free. I felt that all of my girls were able to voice their opinions and felt very comfortable throughout the entire experience. Everyone in the wedding party felt and looked so beautiful the entire night! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Tatum at Brides by Blake is simply amazing. Not only does she have a fun and personable personality, but her keen attention to detail is on point. I wanted to trial glam waves and was nervous and she blew me out of the water. She’s extremely talented and I’m looking forward to having her by my side on my wedding day for big waves! I had a great experience with BBB! My hair and makeup artists were helpful in the trials with figuring out what I wanted and what would work for my hair/skin, and then executed perfectly on the day of! Hair for 7 of us was done in about 4.5-5 hours, and makeup for 5 of us was about 5.5 hours. We all did simpler hairstyles and neutral makeup which I think fit really well.

I cannot recommend Emily and her team enough! From the beginning, Emily was so responsive to every question that I had. She laid out all the details so perfectly through the planning process, trials, and up to the preparation checklist so everything ran so smoothly. Olivia and Kayela made me and my girls feel so comfortable and beautiful on the wedding day. Many of my girls do not wear makeup on a daily basis and Kayela did a great job at creating a natural glowing look for them. Everyone was so professional and made our morning very relaxed and fun. Emily Blake is an actual skin wizard and genius. When I first began my search for a bridal makeup/ hair artist, I was shocked to see that very few artists show their work on clients with textured/acne prone skin. Between moving cities, Covid, and losing my mom this past year, my skin freaked out. I reached out to every artist on this platform to ask to see their work on clients with acne and very few were able to respond. Emily shocked me. She actually has her own studio where she is professionally trained to help with acne. She started me on her acne boot camp. I have tried EVERYTHING for my acne and she saved my skin!
