The Lake House is a wedding venue that is located in Richfield Springs, New York. This gorgeous building was established in 1843, acting as a home-away-from-home for guests from the Cooperstown and Richfield Springs areas for over 160 years. The Lake House features a rustic restaurant, a delightful tavern, plenty of lodging, and a beautiful shoreline with access via a sprawling lawn. Couples and their guests will be able to enjoy a mesmerizing sunset as they sip on cocktails and enjoy idle banter. Here, occasions feel like home and intimate, no matter what the party size is.

Facilities and Capacity

The Lake House is on the shore of Lake Canadarago. It offers spectacular outdoor areas for wedding ceremonies, perfect for couples that wish to be surrounded by lush green grass, blooming flowers, and sparkling lake views. Chairs may be set up directly on the lawn, or the deck off the tavern may be used. Alternatively, there is a stage setup near the lake that can be used for ceremony or post-ceremony events. Indoors, couples and their guests will be able to enjoy a warm restaurant setting that boasts deep-colored wooden accents and plenty of space to party the night away. The venue allows couples to decorate elements of the property to suit their theme. Should guests wish to stay overnight, there are accommodation options at The Lake House Lodge, The Baseball Hotel, The Townhouse, and the Units. The Lake House Lodge has 14 rooms that are available for overnight rental. These rooms range from containing one bed to three. The Baseball Hotel has 25 rooms that boast modern amenities such as WiFi, cable, and air conditioning. The Townhouse is a collective of three charming buildings that offer a variety of lodging styles and rooms. Lastly, the Units are on the grounds of the Lake House Lodge, presenting an alternative overnight lodging option in the form of cabins.

Services Offered

This beautiful venue offers three predetermined packages for couples to choose between. All three packages provide a selection of hors d'oeurves and meals are buffet style or plated. We offer Bar Services along with an option to add a Champagne toast. The Lake House also allows couples to use their own wedding cake provider, allowing for the ultimate wedding customization.
