Wonderful!

This venue is absolutely breathtaking! The house is gorgeous and the views of the river cannot be beaten. Every room was uniquely decorated, but also very versitile. It was the perfect event space and we will use again! Management was extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. If you are looking for a venue in Louisville this is a must!

Owner ruined wedding day

Owner ruined wedding. I waited a few weeks to write this review. Me and my wife got married at the Gaffney July 25th this year. 5 minutes after we said I do and started taking group photos with the photographer the owner of the property Galen Weiss barged down the steps and started yelling whose in charge. We were all thinking it was a joke until he was serious. He called my mom a liar and said there was no wedding scheduled… he was very wrong and completely messed up on his part. There was no sorry or any apology. The icing on the cake was that when we returned to the Gaffney House that night the code we received no longer worked. So me and my wife had to sleep in my parents basement on our wedding night. Having to lay on a futon with my crying wife was not my plan for the night. Thank god my parent lived in town or we would have had no place to stay. Please be very careful renting from this owner.

BEWARE: A Wedding Ruined

BEWARE. A wedding ruined. We rented the Gaffney House for our son's wedding. The home is beautiful and the setting was perfect for the wedding.....until Galen Weiss (the owner of the Gaffney House) barged onto the property as we were taking group photos from the wedding. He started yelling "Who is in charge here?" He yelled this so loud and on several occassions all of the wedding guests heard him and was looking at him. He then accused me (I was in charge) of not having permssion to have a wedding on the property and also that I did not have permission to use both floors of the home. When I said I did have permission for both the wedding and to use the entire home, he said that I was not telling the truth. He required that we stop our wedding shoot so that I could go get my phone and show him that I indeed had permission for both the wedding and full use of both floors. He had the incorrect information on who was renting the home for the weekend, as I had correctly rented the Gaffney House for a wedding and also both floors of the home. He then turned around and left. He did not apologize for interuppting the wedding shoot, he did not apologize for accusing me of lying to him and he did not admit that he was wrong with accusing us of not having permission to be there. I requested that Galen Weiss apologize to me and the bride and groom. He did not!!!!
Galen did have our money refunded for the weekend but in doing so the house code we had no longer worded. We were unable to get the new code until Sunday......after the newly married couple could not gain access to the home on Saturday night after the wedding reception. They had to spend the night at our house....a very romantic wedding night...not. Again.....no apology from Galen Weiss.
I would not recommend staying at the Gaffney house as Galen Weiss was very rude to my family and guests and never apologized.

Disappointed guest.
