An Atmosphere Long Remembered.
The Dream Away Lodge has been a Berkshire legend for more than 90 years. Rumored to have been a brothel and speakeasy during the great depression, this two hundred year old farmhouse at the edge of October Mountain State Forest is renown for its colorful history, rich in music and local mythology.
The 1975 visitation by Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Allen Ginsberg and the Rolling Thunder Review, led to the Dream Away's prominent role in Part Two of Dylan's epic film Renaldo and Clara - enhancing an already unmatched reputation as one of Berkshire County's best loved and most closely held hilltown secrets.
Since the lodge's purchase by former actor and theater maker Daniel Osman in 1997, the lodge's legend has been rather spectacularly reborn. Part restaurant, part bar, part music venue and all theater, the Dream Away features locally grown and sourced food, an imaginative and affordable menu in its own inimitable style, and a wide range of music, art, theater, cabaret and spoken word events,
Beautiful public gardens, a stunning forest Ballroom/event space, a wildflower meditation labyrinth, an outdoor stone fire pit and amphitheater, miles of trails and ponds, and nearly 18,000 acres of October Mountain State Forest across the road all help to make the Dream Away Lodge the last word in parties, weddings, birthdays, holidays and special events.
The Dream Away Lodge offers a variety of stunning, truly unique Berkshire options for your special day.
The magical forest glade known as the Wedding Rock provides the perfect setting for the day you will always remember. The expansive grounds and gardens, the stone fire pit and the birch groves invite your guests to experience your nuptials in confluence with the awesome beauty of the Berkshires.

We got married at this amazing venue about a month ago and the wedding was absolutely perfect. Deborah and Daniel are in charge of planning and execution respectively, and the final product could not have turned out better.
They are great at gauging what you need and adjusting the details based on that. Daniel is the day-of coordinator and his sense of party timing is amazing.
This is not a shmancy venue and will not be anything like any venue you've seen before. The ceremony space we used was a clearing in the woods that looked like something out of Pinterest. Chef Amy designed the menu beautifully and the food was superb.
Not much else to say--VERY pleased with our choice of venue.

The Dream Away Lodge really sets a beautiful, intimate, and completely unique tone for a wedding. Besides the beautiful atmosphere and great food, we loved the fact that they also included flowers and the cake. We live in Boston, so having everything all-inclusive was important to us. What was especially great was that Daniel was there to coordinate everything for us on the day. We had to make a last minute change to the ceremony site, and it was handled wonderfully. It was the perfect place to have our wedding. Our guests loved every bit of the Dream Away experience, especially the eclectic-ness and the food!

This guy was rude and unresponsive. I called about trying to book a wedding. I am in the business and a local no less. He had some preconceived notion of the kind of person i was. He never even called me back about date for visiting the site. I have been there before food was over priced and nothing to write home about. I was however extremely upset about him not even getting back to me. Apparently if he thinks your not cool enough from a one minute phone conversation then your not worthy of getting married there.
