The Dead Letter Press is a letterpress print shop based in Asbury Park, New Jersey. We have been printing wedding stationery and business identity suites for almost 15 years using Heidelberg Windmill letterpresses that can print, score, die-cut and hot-foil on all kinds of paper materials.
Couples looking for wedding invitations, place-cards, napkins, envelopes and other printed accoutrements for their wedding can stop by and choose from and assortment of papers and ink colors to match their wedding's theme.

The Dead Letter Press is passionate about fine art printmaking. Each gorgeous piece is made using original, lovingly restored Heidelberg presses. With about 50 cases of moveable type, the team is able to create unique designs to match your specific wedding theme. Couples can order any number of items, from save-the-dates to menu cards and anything in between. Entire wedding invitation suites can also be printed to match your design in any color in the pantone matching system. For a luxurious feel, a variety of paper can be foil stamped, while custom dies can also be ordered for specialty pieces.

The Dead Letter Press was created as an outlet for my desire to work with and create old-world style printed matter. The name is an homage to the print group that I was a part of while studying at Rutgers at the RCIPP. While there I had two great professors and mentors Lynne Allen and Barb Madsen who both taught me about many aspects of fine art printmaking. The master printer, Randy Hemminghaus was also an invaluable resource for any question I had about all printmaking processes.
Below are images of the Heidelberg I own before I spent two months cleaning, oiling and restoring it. It is now in my new studio space in Matawan, NJ along with another Heidelberg and two smaller tabletop hand presses.
I have about 50 cases of moveable type that I acquired from a printer in Brooklyn, NY. I have printed for several letterpress shops in the city including Press New York, Moontree Press and Sesame Letterpress, all located in Brooklyn.
Beyond printing business cards and business identity I can also print entire Wedding Suites, bar and restaurant materials such as coasters and menus, fine art prints, social stationery. The Heidelbergs also die cut, score and perforate many types of paper. Examples are being photographed in my studio to add to the gallery below.
