The Club at UK's Spindletop Hall

Our daughter was recently married at The Club at UK Spindletop Hall, and the entire experience was absolutely perfect! The venue itself is stunning—full of character, charm, and history. The beautiful 1930s architecture, the variety of unique rooms, and the overall ambiance created the most elegant backdrop for such a special day.

But what truly set this venue apart was Rebecca Dietterick and her incredible team. From start to finish, every staff member was exceptional. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the day seamless. They accommodated every request, anticipated our needs, and handled every detail so we never had to worry about a thing. Their patience and friendliness made us feel cared for and completely at ease.

We are deeply grateful for the graciousness and hospitality shown to our family. Thanks to this wonderful team, our daughter’s wedding day was joyful, beautiful, and entirely stress-free.

I give this venue 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone considering hosting a wedding or private event. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

My husband and I had our dream wedding at Spindletop Hall this past week, and it was truly magical! From setup to food service, last-minute adjustments to cleanup, Rebecca and the entire team at Spindletop were incredible. Their experience with weddings of all sizes was evident in the seamless organization and outstanding quality of service throughout the day.
The bridal and groom suites were perfect—spacious, well-lit, and had plenty of mirrors. The distance between them was ideal for keeping us apart before our first look. We also opted to add lunch service for our wedding party, which was a fantastic decision. The food was delicious, and there was more than enough for everyone. A special shout-out to Jordon and Savannah, who checked in on us throughout the day and helped with anything we needed!
The venue itself is breathtaking. While the grounds are stunning, the historic mansion’s architectural details provided an elegant and timeless backdrop for our wedding. We wanted our wedding to feel classic, warm, timeless, and inviting—and Spindletop delivered. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, meaning minimal decorations were needed to bring our vision to life.
One big perk was the flexibility of both indoor and outdoor spaces, not just for photos but also for the ceremony and reception. Spring weather in Kentucky can be unpredictable—rain, snow, or heat are all possibilities in March. Knowing there was ample indoor space for our approximately 100 guests gave us peace of mind, eliminating the need to budget for a tent. Ultimately, we chose to have an indoor ceremony, as the library at Spindletop felt like the perfect setting for us. However, there are many beautiful options both inside and outside that would make for a stunning ceremony.
We also had a few special requests throughout the day—like keeping guests out of the reception area until dinner and helping me switch my shoes just before walking down the aisle. Every single request was met with a smile, and we truly felt like Rebecca and her team genuinely cared about us and about making our wedding day perfect.
As a true "Type A" person, I had multiple checklists and carefully organized boxes for the wedding, all of which I handed over to Rebecca the day before. Thanks to her and the team, I was able to relax and fully enjoy the day, knowing everything was in expert hands. And if you're more of a "Type B" personality, rest assured, Rebecca’s organization and experience will guide you every step of the way.
My husband and I stuck to a strict budget (eating plenty of peanut butter sandwiches) to save for our dream wedding, and we can confidently say every penny we spent was worth it! The team at Spindletop Hall made our wedding unforgettable, and we are so grateful to them for bringing our vision to life.

The staff at Spindletop is truly top-notch and provided great assistance and service throughout our whole planning process through our big day! We cannot say enough about the beautiful venue and amazing food! It was the perfect setting for our Kentucky wedding!

Caitlin and her staff helped to creat the perfect setting and experience for our May wedding. From our first consultation to wedding day, the logistics of “planning” was smooth and stress-free. From selecting the buffet menu, cake options and room designs I was given expert advice and assistance. My floral designer was also given ample time to “ create” her romantic setting. I highly recommend Spindletop and the wedding coordinators if you are looking for a memorable event.

Our experience with Spindletop Hall was more than we could ever ask for! They were not only accommodating to any and everything we needed, they were efficient and some of the most kind people I've ever met. Spindletop provided us with a wedding coordinator, Caitlin Gilliam, who was the most perfect, helpful, kind, knowledgable, organized, professional coordinator and friend. Without her, I am not sure what I would have done and I know our wedding would not have run as smoothly as it did. Inside, the building was gorgeous - The walls in the rooms are all hand carved and obtain such one-of-a-kind beauty. When we got ready, the girls were located upstairs in an princess-like suite and the boys were located in the incredible basement. It was perfect. Outside, there was not a location that was not spectacular for photos and event placement. We were in love with the true 'Kentucky' feel of Spindletop. I wish I could relive that day over and over because there is not one thing I would change. I highly recommend Spindletop Hall for all events - the staff, location, and overall experience is truly the best!

I had my wedding at Spindletop this past May and had a great overall experience. If you want to have a beautiful, classy but with some southern charm weddingthen Spindletop is the place for you. Probably the best venue in Lexington area. Caitlin the wedding coordinator was great, and basically does everything for you. I just dropped stuff off and they set and take everything down. Plus having the appetizers walked around by the staff was great, saves from one big line to get appetizers during cocktail hour. Plus the staff is amazing. I had one guest tell me, one of the waiters remembered his name and tracked him down to give him more of his favorite appetizer. The staff just made the event seem so personal and great. The Veranda is so beautiful for the ceremony plus it was so much fun to have the dance floor outside, as it was the perfect weather. It's really a "one stop shop" for your wedding that impresses guests with the charm and class of the house, the grounds give you amazing photos, the staff and service was amazing and the wedding coordinators know what they are doing and are going to do everything to give you the perfect day.

Don't be afraid to ask for what you want! My daughter did and they never said no or acted as if it was a problem.

Spindletop provided the reception venue for my daughters May 14, 2016 wedding. Caitlin Gilliam provided the planning services and she was awesome. Her attention to detail was great. I had absolutely no worries that she would provide us with a beautiful reception and carry out all of our wishes. She made the process so easy and stress free. I would highly recommend Caitlin and Spindletop to anyone. Also we had to make a change at the last minute due to weather and everyone was so accommodating. It was just flawless! Everything was beautiful, the staff was very professional and friendly from the bartenders, who were also awesome by the way, to the wait staff. We had so many comments from our guests about them!
