Instead of describing how "different, unique and unconventional" we are, as nearly every other photographer does in an attempt to describe themselves only to fall into the same crowd of photographers they're trying to set themselves apart from, we at Terwilliger Photo prefer to let our pictures speak for us. Our overall style is to shoot candidly, because in our experience we've found that people these days, whether they're our clients or another photographer's, don't generally say "Oh remember that time when we were forced to all stand together and smile for over an hour while our guests were having cocktails without us?" As we do take a few formally posed shots, it's the pictures of the little kids blowing bubbles or tying their shoes, the simple stolen kiss, a single rosebud in the bride's bouquet or tears of joy as the doves are released that help people connect back to the moment, remembering every detail of the day in that one photo. And for a busy bride who has a million things on her mind, having photos to show her what was going on everywhere else on her special day is really what makes our service special, and this is what we strive for: covering every detail. We've found even in our portrait sessions that people, from toddlers on up to ninety year old great grandmothers, are far more relaxed when we just let them be themselves in their photos, rather than shouting commands and repositioning people's arms by physical force.
