Martha and Arturo’s company, Taste for the Senses, provided the catering for our wedding in May of 2014 (I know, it took me FAR too long to write a review!) I can not begin to describe the amazing service they gave our guests! The food was beyond delicious – In fact, I still get compliments on how wonderful their set up was and how great their food tasted (best vegetarian tamales EVER). Several people have told me it’s the best wedding food they’ve ever had and I would have to agree! Not only were Martha, Arturo, and the rest of their staff so friendly and professional, but they really went above and beyond for our wedding ( I do not have enough space here to document all the ways, outside of catering, they actually helped on our wedding day). There were several times when our wedding planner completely dropped the ball and things could have ended in absolute disaster but Martha and Arturo were right there to pick up the slack so that our guests were not aware of any issues the day of our event. Taste for the Senses truly made our day special for us and for that, we are forever grateful. You can tell that Arturo LOVES what he does and is passionate about making every event he caters a special one. The thing that really stood out to me, and touched my heart, is that Arturo and Martha brought my parents some of their delicious food a few days after the wedding when they learned that my parents didn’t get to eat because they were busy holding things together at the wedding during dinner. They absolutely did not have to do that for us – it was amazing. They both are wonderful people and I would definitely recommend them for any event, especially a wedding (in fact, I try to every chance I get!)

Amazing Caterer hired 2 weeks before the wedding

I didn't start planning my wedding until 6 weeks before our wedding day. Invitations went out one month prior and I waited till the very last minute to hire a caterer due to budget restrictions. My husband said "just hire a taco truck" but I really wanted a nice dinner and was able to work the budget to allocate more funds for food. 2 weeks before the wedding, Martha (owner) invited me to a tasting in Sacramento. I told her my budget and said I could contribute some food items to lower the cost. I own a farm and we grow walnuts and raise lambs so I was hoping to incorporate these items into the meal. Martha was more than willing to work with me and she also helped me with planning for rentals and advised me on how much alcohol to purchase for my guest count. They supplied dishware and serving and eating utensils & was able to extend to me her linens discount through her supplier. Martha has been catering for over 30 years, and since I was my own wedding planner, her guidance the last two weeks was a tremendous help. Martha had a team of 2 onsite chefs, 3 servers and a bartender. For appetizers we had a ceviche table (served in shot glasses, martini glasses and glass spoons), lamb meatballs (lamb from my farm) with tzatziki sauce (I'm half greek and also wanted to incorporate some of my heritage), and cheese stuffed mushrooms. For main course we did a buffet of grilled chicken & Tri-tip (both grilled on site w/ a tri-tip carving station), couscous, grilled vegetables, & a waldorf salad with walnuts from my orchard. They also had a drink station with 2 types of agua fresca. Martha and all of her staff were very professional and a delight to work with. They not only set up and served all the food, but they also poured champagne for our toast and served cake. We had 120 guests RSVP but there were about 20 no shows or last minute cancellations and there was still very little left overs, which means everyone loved the food and ate a lot! I am forever grateful for Martha, and with her services we pulled off the perfect wedding. No one would guess I planned the entire thing in only a few weeks. I highly recommend using Taste for the Senses for your wedding or any event that needs catering.

Loved Taste for the Senses!!! They are a very local food to fork style catering service whom take care of your every need. I was very pleased with the staff and culinary art they provided. They even provide bartending services from their top of the line staff members whom also work at the best restaurants in Sacramento such as Paragary's and Firehouse. If you need to pick an excellent low cost venue this is the place to be.
