Had a wonderful experience with Sycamore Event Center and Moreno Catering!!! Very responsive to my emails and all my questions! They were friendly and reasonably priced for both the food and venue!! I highly recommend them!! The venue center was so pretty and we got lots of compliments!! Love that we had lots of good options to choose from for food! The rolls were amazing!! I would recommend this venue and catering for any wedding!!

This Venue is amazing, open floor plan and wonderful people to work with. I would recommend this highly to anyone looking for a Venue. If you want that Fairy Tale, feel this is truly the place to have your special day. The food they provide is wonderful, you don't have to worry about Bartenders and the staff is Super Friendly and ready to be there to make it a wonderful time.

10/10 would recommend! The venue is spacious and has both ceremony and reception accommodations. The patio area is beautiful and came in handy for our wedding ceremony since it occurred during the pandemic. The owner and staff were great!

I was blown away at the transformation of this space once we had it decorated with our theme. Judy Enders did amazing work for the backdrop and head table and the centerpieces looked just how I had imagined in this space. It was very versatile for our needs and had plenty of room to social distance. The enclosed outdoor space is great for kids and to get some fresh air. The chairs provided were elegant and there was no need for chair covers so i definitely saved some money. Cleanup was essentially just getting my own decor packed up and that was it. The venue rented the table cloths and it was so nice to not worry about anything. Absolutely perfect!

I’m not coming here to bash them, although I’m mad enough about the whole experience I very well could! I’m just putting an honest review here so others can decide for themselves.

If you are on a budget, don’t mind not having a receipt, and don’t mind having to clean the entire venue ahead of time, go ahead and book with them.

I will say that they were very kind and professional ahead of time and made really good food for the testing, unfortunately that’s not what you get after you pay.

Also, when you pay, they will not give you a receipt. You get a picture of them with a pile of cash. It didn’t sit right with me, like they are trying to hide it for tax purposes, but who knows.

One of my biggest concerns was the fact the bride explicitly told them she was ALLERGIC to cucumbers and they did not care and served her cucumbers on her wedding day! We had to tell her not to have the salad or she would have had to go to the hospital and get a shot. (That alone for me is enough to not reccomend them, but you do what you want.)

The pictures on the website are FALSE. The fence “fell” down a few weeks before when they new the ceremony was going to be outside, they didn’t contact us about it. They claimed it would be too much to put back up. We only found out about it because we drove past it an saw it down. They didn’t do any trimming of the outside landscaping, they had a hole in the yard where we had to warn people to avoid, the outside trash/ash trays were full of garbage. They have one bathroom not even available, half the women’s stalls didn’t lock. There were cobwebs everywhere, dead flies littering the tulle draped across the ceiling.

They didn’t even have lights in the parking lot outside and someone fell down because of it.

They require $700 in tips, but none of that go to the bartenders. They had to have their own tip jar out because of it.

We had to spend hours cleaning the tables before we could even put the tablecloths on because they were so dirty it showed through the white tablecloths.

The day before they had stacked chairs so packed into the BRIDE’S bathroom you couldn’t even walk in. When we asked about getting them moved, we got attitude about it.

I’ll attach pictures of some of our complaints, including a picture of how clean the floors are. This was a bridesmaid who walked barefoot in the venue for three hours before the ceremony. This was after they said they mopped when the floors were sticky.

If the bride and groom had known the fence wouldn’t have been there (which they weren’t even going to tell them about) they would have booked elsewhere.

TLDR: the building itself is nice and can work great for a wedding on a budget, just keep in mind you will be getting what you pay for. You will most likely have to do some cleaning, they don’t keep it clean. And the pictures on the website AREN’T going to be what you get. If you have a food allergy, they will ignore it, even if you’re the bride.

Unfortunately, our experience with this venue was very disappointing. In the days leading up to our wedding, the venue was extremely dirty — sticky floors, filthy tables that we had to clean ourselves, cobwebs and bugs throughout, windows my family had to wash, and unkept landscaping. The only reason we were aware of the condition of the grounds and the removal of the ceremony fence was because my mother visited the venue one week before the wedding to assist with planning. Rather than properly maintaining the landscaping, the bushes had been hacked up in an attempt to “clean up,” leaving them looking worse than before. There was also a dangerous hole in the ground outside, which raised serious concerns about guest safety. Trash was left outside in ashtrays rather than being cleaned up.

One week before our wedding, we noticed the venue removed the fence where our ceremony was supposed to take place without notifying us, causing unnecessary stress so close to our date. On the day of the wedding, they did not assist with setting up ceremony chairs, leaving our family to handle the work.

During the reception, the outdoor lighting was not turned on, and as a result, my father fell outside. This was incredibly upsetting and completely preventable. Additionally, one of the two men’s restrooms was out of order, and instead of properly addressing it, chairs were piled inside the bathroom.

The food was also a letdown compared to our tasting. Even more concerning, cucumbers were included in the salad despite the venue being informed ahead of time that the bride has a cucumber allergy.

Overall, my family had to work extremely hard both before and on the day of the wedding just to make the venue look presentable. For a wedding venue, this level of cleanliness, communication, safety, and attention to detail is unacceptable. When you pay for a wedding venue, you should not be responsible for basic cleanliness, setup, and safety. Sadly, this venue and catering fell far short of expectations. I would not recommend this venue to future couples.

The owner replied to this review and his response is disappointing and unprofessional. Our review reflects specific, factual issues we experienced with the venue regarding cleanliness, safety, communication, and staff support. These are valid concerns for any wedding couple.

Deflecting responsibility and criticizing a client instead of addressing the issues raised only further supports why we felt compelled to leave an honest review.
