"Dearly beloved: We have come together in the presence of God…”

These words begin the marriage service in the Episcopal Church. Here at St. Stephen’s we offer the opportunity to those who wish to commit themselves to each other in Holy Matrimony, regardless of gender. We understand marriage to be a Sacrament: an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. We welcome both those who are already members of St. Stephen’s, as well as those who are seeking a church community in which to begin their married life.

Bathed in natural light, our church is gracefully simple in design. Etched glass depictions of Bible stories enhance the eastern window panels. The western window wall looks out onto a serene walled garden. We are especially proud of our magnificent, three manual pipe organ housed in the rear choir loft.

We also have several indoor and outdoor spaces that could be perfect for casual cocktails or a formal dinner for your reception.

For your ceremony, the sanctuary, which seats 400,or the chapel, for a more intimate wedding of 50 or fewer.

For cocktails after the ceremony our walled Nepenthe Garden just outside of the church is perfect, and the breezeway separating the two can be a lovely place to seat up to 60 for dinner. For casual receptions there is our Parish Center and patio which can accommodate up to 150 indoors and out.

For larger receptions indoors, we have our Great Hall which can seat 150 for a meal. For a larger reception out of doors, the Johnson Courtyard, a paved space between the arches of our upper-school building, our Oak Grove, a shady spot in the center of our campus, or our Lower Courtyard, a lush lawn surrounded by tropical plants and the covered verandah of the lower school building are available. Any one of these three spaces will provide room for several hundred guests to mingle for cocktails or be seated for dinner.
